Orcs and Goblins was the first army that I ever played and I have gathered a large collection of models as well as a lot of gaming experience. But it seems that, even with the new boost to the choppa, goblins are really the big players in this army. There magic is better for the cost, there infantry is cheap as dirt and yet when played correctly (I.E. with Skarsnik) can be just as devastating as units of orcs (with the exception of black orcs and boar boys), and don't even me started on the numbers I run for the Fanatics in my army. I've eventually come to the compromise of a mix of the two (which I suppose was the point in the first place) but it always seems to lean toward the goblin side of things. The most successful list that I have come up with recently is a night goblin army led by Grimgor Ironhide and 25 Immortulz. The army contains no other orc units. Please help me come up with a solution to this problem Cause Da Orcs Want Ta Fight!

Despite hours of hollaring at his boyz the intricate details of his battle plan, Warboss Snagruck couldn't hide the fact that it all boiled down to "GET 'EM"

Wait, do you want more Orcs or more Goblins?

One of the main uses I've seen for Orc boyz is making them Big 'Uns and taking the Spirit Totem. If you slap that on the Immortulz, it might be best to give the Boyz shields and Nogg's Banner of Butchery. T4, WS4, 4+ save, and 10-11 S5 attacks on the charge from rank & file (assuming no character) is pretty decent.

Regular Boyz are pretty much un-used in my army now too. They're good for their points (6pts yields you a WS3, essentially S4, T4, 4+ save model), but the problems come in their base size (25mm) and that they're good for their points. Savage Orc Boar Boyz are good cavalry, especially when Big 'Uns, but you need to screen them. The same pretty much holds true for the regular savage orcs boyz too.

An Orc Shaman carrying the Staff of Sorcery is my usual choice. 15pts more than a Gobbo Shaman armed the same, yes, but the Orc has an extra point of toughness. I don't use magic much anyways with my army.

If you've got a Warboss in a fully ranked up unit of Orcs (big uns maybe) you can use Gork's Waagh Banner to pull off a 10-20" charge one turn per game. With luck, it's enough to totally get the drop on a foe. Unfortunately, many elite infantry are more than a match for even charging big 'uns, these days.

My own orc and goblin army was going to be the same as yours Becuzwurfungus, but then I realised pretty much every tournament in Ireland bans special characters.

Remove the rules for animosity (and the Waaagh) and O&G are a very competative army.

When the army book came out everyone thought that orcs had been given a major boost. But it was just that regular goblins had been priced out of useful range.

NGs is where the action is.

Yeah I know, but it still bugs me.
