Greetings brothers!

Those of you that frequent Warseer may have already seen this blog, but for those of you that haven't, I'm copying it over in all its glory!

Now, I have something of a penchant for old school models, Chaos in particular... I have a completed old school DG army (pics will be appearing soon...) and I'm working on an old school WE army too (pics to follow soon too!), but my main distraction atm is my old school Daemon army. I've had a blog going on Warseer for a little while, but as I'm new here I thought I'd share it with you guys too... Enjoy and please do comment!

First up, the general of my army Grimjack the Hunter (Bloodthirster):

His uneasy ally Iskard Lustviper (Keeper of Secrets):

Slaanesh's chosen, the Subjugators (Fiends):

Nurgle's tallymen and hardcore objective holders, the Pox-Spreaders (Plaguebearers):

Their equally unglamourous brothers, the Woundlickers (Plaguebearers):

The veteran of many battles, and my namesake, Vomikron Noxis (Daemon Prince):

His twin brother Lothar Bubonicus (Daemon Prince):

A whole bunch of Chaos objectives from my various armies:

And last but by no means least, the unit I'm currently working on (almost finished in fact!), The Danse Macabre (Plaguebearers):

That's the lot for now, I hope you like em!

I like old stuff in general, but the Greater daemons have improved over the last 10 years. On the other hand, there's nothing to equal those outstanding Danse Macabre for character. Are they old Mordheim figs? I'm fond of the horned plaguebearer with the armor too - I've seen him used a number of cool ways.

So lets take the RobZombie connection one step further, exactly how influence from his art did you take into consideration with those princes. I certainly see some of his influence with Lothar but Im not sure if thats how the model was molded or if you converted it.

Hail brothers!

Well it's that most exciting of times again: update time!!

Got some good work done on the army this week, and finished off the final unit of 'Plaguebearers' (also known as the Carnival of Chaos)....

And individual shots of the freaks....

You may not be able to see clearly in the pic above, but he has Alice Cooper style make up on...

That's yer lot! Enjoy and please do comment!

And in answer to your questions, Zombie's art has always been a big influence for me, in all its OTT grandeur!

Hey its the nurgle champion with fly head! Really love those carnival guys. I fear this is one archetype of chaos that will fade out in history (it already did i suppose, but people like you keep it alive!)

This is great. You hit my soft spot for older models. Great paintjobs on them too. Good work!

A small update, and a taste of things to come....

This is the model that I'll be using as Fateweaver, and it is probably the ugliest model I've ever seen!!

Isn't he adorable?? Also soon to come will be a few Bloodcrushers to make use of Fateweaver's awesome ability. The difference with these guys will be that they are in fact the new plastic models (because they're so damn awesome!)

Hail brothers!

Not much of an update right now, but I just thought I'd show you a little something new that I'm working on.....

An amazing birthday present from my wonderful girlfriend, and an epic project in its own right!

(Apologies for the rubbish pic, it was just a quickie from my phone)

Well it has been a while, but I promise I haven't been completely idle... And to prove it, I have an update for you...

It's just the one model, but he sure is a big one!

Pics don't really do him justice tbh, it really is an amazing model and was such a blast to paint! Let me know what you guys think...

Evening all!

It's been a little while since I did much work on this army (I'm easily distracted apparently...), but I'm pleased to say I have an update!

I was intending to use the old school LoC to represent Fateweaver (see above), but that idea has been scrapped in favour of using him (and his brother) as Tzeentch Daemon Princes, to lend some cheap firepower to the army. I did some minor conversion work on these two, just filling the holes where their wings should go (60pts for wings?? I think not!) and sculpting some feathers to blend it in. As always, let me know what you think!

Great job on the Great Unclean one. Really impressed by the Death Chickens as well.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thank you for the comments brother, always nice to read! I'm pleased to have a little update for you this evening...

Been working on my Tzeentch Heralds:

Still very much WIP, but let me know what you think! I'm still going to add Tzeentch symbols to the chariot prows, and add some spiky blades. I seek your advice on one thing though: should I have the Screamers attached to the chariots with chains? I'm reluctant to use real jewellers chain as I think it'll be far too fragile and will irritate me! I was thinking of leaving them unattached, with the idea that they're magically tethered to the chariot... Any thoughts?

Hail brothers!

It's been a very long time since I updated this blog (for some reason), though I certainly haven't been idle! I've been working hard to update my daemons for the latest codex I'm going to do a rather large pic dump for your perusal so bear with me!

First up, some very dodgy pics of my plaguebearers:

Next up, a new plaguebearer squad made from the 3rd generation models, and including a couple of carnival plaguebearers (in more muted colours this time, to match the overall scheme of the army):

Now the carnival chaps on their own, plus the instrument dudes for each squad:

Finally a WIP pic of a daemon prince and a converted GUO based on a very old champion of chaos:

Your whole army makes Pappy Nurgle very pleased So much oldskool.. So much OOP... Love the subtle mixture of new stuff too. And all your custom names.

"Within microseconds, the post-hypnotic implants in the subconscious portions of his brain were already running the pre-deployment checks, and the insides of his eyeballs lit up with telemetry data, weapon readiness status, fuel levels and a million other nuggets of information that would allow him to command this beautiful, wonderful Titan. 'How do you feel?' asked the the adept and Jonah laughed. 'It's good to be the king,' he said."

Greetings brothers!

I managed to get the other DP finished this weekend. I've had all sorts of problems with this guy, both in building and painting actually, so I'm relieved just to be able to call him done now :S I wont bore you with the details but there have been numerous issues, including one where I had to remove the head to strip and repaint it :Z Not a happy chappy!!

Objectively I'm not 100% happy with him, but given that it looked like I was going to have to dismantle, strip and completely repaint him, I'm at the very least "satisfied". I suppose I could replace him with a version that pleases me in the future, but tbh I doubt I'll ever get around to it! Anyway, enough complaining... Let me know what you think!

Greetings all!

Tbh the DP has really grown on me since I got him finished... He fits in nicely with the rest of the army and does look very cool in and of himself. I think I was just frustrated at the time with all the issues I had with him. There are still a few bits that I'd do differently if I did it again, but that's always the way with any model I guess!

So I have a small update this evening; I haven't managed any more painting yet (been working on the mountain of ironing instead... being a grown up sucks!), but I did take a couple of shots of the entire painted force as it stands right now. Bear in mind this isn't all the daemons I have painted (by a long shot in fact), or even all the Nurgle models, but it is everything I have for the current version of the army. Should give you an idea of how it'll all look in the end. As always, comments are much appreciated!

Hmm disappointingly few replies so far... I shall press on regardless however...

A small update on the GUO. I embellished the staff with a few unsavoury items (a suspicious looking pouch, the severed heads of two Imperial servants, and the clawed hand of a rival daemon), and added the curiously phallic Nurgle symbol that is present on the original 80s champion.

Enjoy!

Hmm... a very disappointing lack of interest... but I shall press on for now at least...

Got my GUO finished, just in time for a game on Monday My opponent has a really awesome Praetorian army so if there are some cool moments I'll take some pics for you!

In the meantime...

I couldn't get the severed heads to look quite how I wanted them so I swapped them out for a parchment of human skin (made from a bit of thin plasticard) with some evil spells written in the blood of the innocents!

As always, let me know what you think!

Hail brothers!

Well it's been a long while since I've updated this thread, but it's not like I've been doing nothing that whole time

I've pretty much revamped the whole list, and it's given me a huge pile of models to build and paint... *sigh*

The first of these is a new Tzeentch Daemon Prince to hold the grimoire:

He's built from the old metal DP model, with original Blue Horror hands and a head made from the body of a Pink Horror.

Next up is a Slaanesh Daemon Prince, built from the same base model, but with the addition of Dark Eldar and Tyranid bits, plus the claw from an original Keeper of Secrets:

Lastly, I picked up this neat little Portalglyph from a seller online (whose shop seems to be sadly closed now):

Let me know what you think!

Also, a shameless plug... I've just started up a blog to encourage me to paint my way through my mountain of lead. Everything I post in this thread will be on there, plus a lot of my inane ramblings... Please check it out if you have time (link in my sig).
