Is there anything wrong with fielding 3 warsphinx and a necrosphinx for a tomb kings 2000pt list? Is that a viable strategy? Is getting a bunch of tomb guard just better?

I once say a TK list with 7 (Maybe it was 6 I do not normally look to far into 2k lists) sphinxs and I must say I liked it.

The sphinx is a amazing monster as long as you are not fighting cannons.

I happen to really dislike tombguard unless you build your list around them.

OMG!!! I run bascially the same list, except with Heirotitan instead of Necrosphinx. But usually my opponent packs up his case without a word and leaves when he sees them...

Don't believe what everone says, I am really a Brainboy who survived the weed wipeout and now I go on secret missions for Tzeench I can also control your mind. (jokes)

You could have a unit of 9 tacticals that are flipping off the enemy with both hands, they still have a bolt pistol and bolt gun.

One of the larger problems you will have with the kitties is making the enemy break since most units will nearly always be steadfast against it.

But ya I love running them in my kings list and my 2K list runs 3 of them! I reserve my rare choices for more support items like the casket and SSC which is great against low ld horde armies (O&G, Skaven, Empire to a degree)

Current Armies:

Warmachine:
Shae Pirate's Life 50
Durgen attrition 50

WH40K:
Orks (5,000 pt Apoc Kan Wall, 1850 Bikerz)
Grey Knights (1850 Crowe Purifiers, 2500 'Ard Boyz Draigo)
Sisters of Battle (Seraphim spam)

WHFB:
2400 Empire
3000 Tomb Kings

Well with the hulk-smash attack and a breath weapon you should be winning combats so it is just a matter of time

You would need to get multiple sphinxes into a combat to ensure that you keep winning, with undead monster one bad round of combat will see you crumble pretty fast.

I think the thing here is to use the more maneuverable NecroSphinxes to support your basic baddies, getting in the flank or rear of those blocks if you can. Also, get a BSB, so you're at -2 Wounds if you crumble, and run

I'd say take a bunch of lower level Priests instead of one high one for the Restless Dead healing, except for that buggery rling of only 1 recovered wound per phase thing with Constructs.

Aside from that, look at ways of keeping as many wounds as possible off your Kitties, so it's just Static Res with the enemy- Necrotects are helpful for the 6+ Regen, and Ramhotep's ability to give one of them re-rollable armour would be very nice as well. Keep your General close or maneuverable, in case your Heirophant dies, too.

As to the kits- consider using all the little bugs and such to make some Tomb Swarms- aside from a good use of Bits, it could also behoove you to take them as a cheap way to get in the opponent's backfield and get those critical-to-combat-res Rear charges off.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!
