right, so this is my first blog so bear with me. hear i shall post all the pictures and ideas i have for my chaos lords, as well as my chaos army as a whole.
these are all un-painted.

firstlly is my cheif chaos lord, Drakan. the emperor of chaos.secondlly, kor Talethic, my dark apostle.next, sartesh, my slaaneshi emperors children lord. lastlly, Amadeus Volktoten, my sorceror lord.

i will try to update this blog as much as i can. i will see how this post goes before posting more.

finally got my pictures working thanks to krautscientist and reds8n.

i have had an idea for my khorne lord! the idea is using a beastman model, the champions MASSIVE axe and head, with a normal arm, cut off just below the elbow, with a bolt pistol or plasma pistol on it. beastman champion head (painted to be a re-breather) . the legs would be replaced under the knees with space marine legs. maybe a chainmail cloak made from GS or something.
im going for a gladiator vibe for him, like the gladiator world eater from krautscientist's world eater blog.

Glad I could be of help! Looks like you're off to a good start too!

One piece of advice concerning your photos: I am quite a gakky photgographer, so I want to keep you from repeating the stupid mistakes I made: Don't use a sheet of white paper as a background: That'll make it much harder for the camera to focus and produce a usable picture. Go for something with a light colour (light brown or grey usually work well enough). That should help in adding some contrast to the model without any "glare" from the white paper.

Regarding the models, I especially like your undivided lord! Great use of the Sanguinary guard head! The EC champion looks a little plain for my taste, although the paintjob may yet remedy that. I'd probably have gone for a more twisted head for a Slaanesh follower myself. For example, izeColt used the Empire flagellant head with the mouth sewn shut for an EC Marine, and it looks glorious!

About the Khorne champ: The Beastman parts can work pretty well with CSM parts, but I would take care not to have the model look too much like a beastman! Using the head could already be too much, so take care. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing where this conversion is going!

right, i thought i woud tell you all how my army is set out so:

Emperor Drakan, through deviousness and manipulation, has pulled together and bound to him a number of warbands in his own Black crusade (this allows me to have them as one force for now, and later expand them into standalone armies later on). the set up is as follows

Barros the Dominator, Praefectus of the Black Praetorians-the Terminator Elite of the Daemonis Centurions, Drakan's own warband. Barross is the chief strategist, and although he is drakans bodygaurd, he seceretlly detests drakan. he is only the leader of the terminators after his predeccesor was killed under mysterious circumstances.

Sartesh the magnificant, lord of the 'Tears of Suffering' warband of the Emperors children Legion.
Dark Apostle Kor Talethic, leader of the 'bearers of truth' warband of the Word Bearers.
Amadeus Volktoten-leader of the sorceror covens.
Raziel, lord of the Harbringers of Darkness warband, made up of Raptors and possessed.
Renark the ever-Rotting, leader of the 'Carrion Templars' warband of the Death Gaurd.
Areyz Enyalius,great-champion of the 'Eightfold Bretheren' warband of the World Eaters legion. once enslaved in a dark eldar fighting arena. leader of the second largest warband next to drakans own.

Brennus, a leader of the 'Hastati'- the renegade gaurd and cultists- that follow Drakan and his crusade.

so i have had an idea for my slaanesh lord, to add one of those roman-style leather stip lioncloth things form the SM captain model and greenstuff a shoulder cloak, like the FW captain models have.
also thought of getting a warhammer fantasy zombies pack to use for my nurgle lord.
got white dwarf yesterday. NEW CHAOS!!! but no skarbrand!!!! why?! good to have new chaos though, and to see wade pryce's world eaters!!!

am going to UK gamesday in september so hopefully there will be chaos stuff i can buy!!

hello there!!

sorry for the hiatus, but i now have an update!!! woo hoo!!!

no pics unfortunatlly, but i do have a rather interesting idea to run past you:

lilgeth the unnatural- the result of a chaos ritual involving the sacrifice of six eldar maidens, a captured battle sister bieng possessed by a slaaneshi deamon, in rather the same way as a deamon host, a suit of space marine armour and the gene seed of an Emperors children marine, a

load of chanting and chaos magical doo daa and a pit of warped feuled fire creating a female deamon host, marine thing with the size and most of the perks of a marine and a deamon, along with battle skill, wearing warped marine armour.
(its a work in progress idea

C&C will be helpful but dont rage at me for the idea, i know female marines aren't a liked subject, but i have tried to make it as plausible as possible.

Female marines are somewhat accepted in the wargaming community now. If you look at a number of EC logs, you'll see people splicing together Daemonette torsos with Space Marine power armour to make some stunning adrogynous marines.

I agree with KrautScientist about the Khorne lord, the Beastman head may be pushing it. Maybe you should give him a more 'Normal' Berzerker head, then have his followers full of Beastman goodness?

@Brotheralexos thanks for the advice!!! i really want to carry out both ideas, but i always seem to have economic troubles.

for the slaaneshi-deamonette marine idea, model wise i was thinking of the lilith hesparex model for the base, with a few marine bitz thrown in, like a bolt pistol and maybe a chainblade and a shoulder pad or two, not quite sure.

Concerning the Slaaneshi daemonhost, take care not to use too many Marine parts, lest the slender, female silhouette is lost. That would pretty much defeat the whole purpose of the conversion, in my opinion. You may want to consider using some different armour parts, maybe from one of the WFB chaos kits. Anyway, I guess the conversion could work, but you should be careful not to end up with something that just looks like a Marine with boobs

i have built a raptor lord model, a khorne lord and i have bought a collection of khorne marines and lord. i just have to photograph and post them. that will come later.

the dark vengence set has got me interested, as they can help with my chaos and dark angels armies.

i brought an old warzone miniture the other day,cardinal dominic (#2) and as soon as i saw it i thought "ohh my god! its Kor pharon!!" so that s what i will do with him!!! add a huron blackheart backpack, afew chaosy bits and hopefully i will have a decent Version o the black Cardinal himself!!

also thought of the new gw dark apostle model as a Erebus, given a few adjustments.

hope to have pics up soon, but i have work to do atm so..

hello again!! work and various other things have been keeping me away but im back!! and with another idea!!!

baically thought of a first acolyte for my dark apostle:

the first acolyte of a word bearers warband, who was the child of some davinite warrior priests.he was taken on their request by the word bearers legion, mainly Kor talethic, my dark apostle, and became a space marine.now he is a vehement, fanatical devotee to the chaos gods and to his dark apostle. he, like his dark apostle, believes that it is his duty and mission to bring 'enlightenment' to the imperium of man and help mankind to 'ascend' via the worship of chaos, just like lorgar originally set out to do when he first embraced the gods

thought of a beastman gor or ungor head, remove the horns (on the gor) and gs hair + a top knot, on a chaos marine body, maybe gor arms.

hello!!!
as i hoped in my last post, i have indeed got something to convert!!!! my friendd gave me the 5 pack of cultists for christmas and i have a full plan of action!! in the set, two in particular stood out to me: the guy with the gas mask and nail-pole, to be converted into a 40k version of psycho-mantis from Metal Gear Solid, to be a psyker (maybe a primaris psyker for a chaos gaurd army or a renegade psyker for a vraksian militia army). i was thinking of the arm with the claw from the hooded cultist champion and maybe a staff made from a mauruder horseman spear and some bitz.
the second idea is the hooded gas mask man with the stubber, to be made into a cultist champion, with a maurder horseman axe, with a spear tip held parralel to the arm and a stubber pistol arm from another cultist, cut off at the elbow. the champion will be rather like Kroenan (Hellboy)

all my idea needs to be completed is the cultist champion claw-handed arm from dark vengence, so does anyone kknow where i can get hold of one cheap?

right, i've been searchin the web, and i've found a few pictures that have given me insperation, as well as the Relatively new releases for warriors of chaos, to make my slaanesh lord, sartesh (hes above) who looks rather bland, a little more interesting...

(as people may notice i have a multitude of ideas going on, but not a lot of action on them, as im always thinking about models and how i could 'alter them' but have a distinct lack of income)

the new hellstriders are one thing that has given me some insperation:

my idea was to take the champion and have him in a floating or decending pose, like sanguinior. he would have a eldar wraithblade, for background reasons as well as the fact that he would look really good, with pegasus wings and every thing else from the model, with the mock hoplite helmet with crest.

then there are these:

the first pictures gives me an odea of what he could look like, with the torso made from a sanguinary gaurd torso with GS to make it slaaneshi. the second one by the_redeemer is a good idea fo a pant scheme for, him obviously i would have to empeors children-ify it.

finally a pic update!!!!

so thets get this started:

Cruedelis Dominus De mortis, an old metal model i brought, along with 2 khorne beserker squads and some bloodletters, from my friend.

diemos atricus, a converted khorne lord.he leads the tacticalsquads in my khorne army.

a group shot of all my latest work!!! in amongst them all you can see a converted cultist. pictures of him later.

and the star of the show!! the new and improved sartesh elimo. the last one looked a it bland so here is the new one!!! i think he looks suitibly more slaaneshi.

also there is this man:

this i a darksiders inspired khorne marine, based on war, the first horseman.

40k war and sartesh may need a bit of GS-ing to add the finishing touches, model wise, such as a few bits of torn robe on war and a few bits of liquid GS to make sartesh a bit more corrruption, to look like the torso armour is turning more organic.

colour scheme wise, sartesh will be colourd either like the gallery pic by the_redeemer or in a platinum colour with white detials. for the darksiders conversion, a brass trim and bare metal plate, with red cloth

Whoa, I just realised that I've been meaning to comment on your last update for ages! Sorry for the delay, mate!

Here goes:

I really think your new model for Sartesh is a huge improvement over the last version! There are just two small things I'd change: Maybe it would be a good idea to shave off the BA iconography (blood drops) on the sword and collar? And I think you could perhaps attach a single wing (from the DA veterans or a Space Marine standard) to his left shoulder pad as a stylised EC legion badge? Oh, and what is that buckler you attached to the hand with the Plasma pistol? It's hard to make out in the photo.

Concerning "War", he definitely needs a tabard and/or cape to bulk him out a little! What about using a WFB Chaos Marauder cape as a tabard:

The Chaos Lord on Manticore comes with a fantastic cape made of chains. That would look ace as a cape for the model! Of course you could always build your own version, using chains from different kits.
And what about adding some smaller armour plates and bitz to make his armour look slightly more archaic?

Hmm. I like the idea of a Darksiders inspired CSM, but here's my tips.

First of all, the parts are all too flat and basic. War's armour is very ornate and detailed, with layers, runes, maws, and spikes.

Second, he does need a tabard or a cape or a shawl or something. He looks too small at the moment.

Third, if this is based on War, he needs a Big Effin' Sword. A weedy little chainsword simply will not do.

Still, colour me interested!

@ Krautscientist, thhe buckler is a maruarder horseman shield on sartesh. i may keep one of the blood drops, as his warband is the 'tears of suffering' but one will be removed. i will add a wig to him but dont know where.

i will add some stuff to war to make him look more archaic, as well as a tabbard and cloak, when i get bitz to add to him.
money wise im in a dilema. do i buy the chaos marine codex or doi buy some tuff to convert? i dont have engough for both though

Well, concerning the wing on the shoulder pad, here are two ideas on how to achieve that:

The wing in the first picture came from the top of a Sanguinary Guard standard. The second wing is from the DA conversion sprue. There are lots of additional options for getting wings, though: aquila symbols from different vehicle sprues, most DA kits, you name it.

As for your decision whether to buy the codex or something to convert, let's look at it like this:

- You'll probably need the codex anyway, sooner or later. Why not buy it now? It's also a great book!
- Do you have enough models to actually run an army? If so, you should probably buy the book. If not, getting a few, useful models (basic CSM, for example) first definitely wouldn't hurt!
- actually, who am I trying to fooll? I'll always go for models over everything else, personally, so I perfectly understand your predicament

recently i have purchased the Chaos marine codex and a squad of chaos marines and my dad very generously bought me the skullcrushers, so needless to say i have lots o chaos stuff to make up!!
i am also very close to being able to make my khorne lord idea thats been brewing for a while, all i need is a few pieces.

as soon as i have pictures i will post them.

@Archaon son- the sanguinary gaurd weeping blood isnt actually mine, it belongs to the_redeemer, i posted that here to demonstrate a style of paint scheme for my sanguinary gaurd conversion (the unpainted one).

and my khorne lord, in the planning stage. he will have the blade of the spear as a sword, with a shield on the other arm from an ogre gut plate (the world eaters symbol one) he's going to be a 40k hoplite. im thinking of cutting off the bunny ears and giving him a helmet crest of some sort, as well as a cloak of chains. not sure about the pose though, may have him either in a defencive stance or in a victorious roaring stance, arms raised and head back.
