Does any one know why in 8th editions charge does't grant an extra attack? This disbalances the game  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

Let me give you an example. Warhawk riders are useless since in 7th editions they got 4 strength 4 attacks in charge , but now they have only 2 , they have a toughness of 3 and cost 40pts. It's disapointing like the hole 8th edition.

I can't remember 7th that much. But I think because it was based on Movement attribute a lot. Which means faster units were much better at charging on top of being faster. With the random charge distance, everyone has a chance to charge.

If they want to make a unit good at charging they give them Impact Hits. It's a way to separate speed and charging power.

There was never (to the best of my recollection of 5th, 6th, and 7th editions) a bonus attack for charging in WHFB. It made you strike first, previously. In 8th it doesn't make you strike first anymore, but instead gives +1CR.

Yeah, there's never been +1A on the charge for at least the past 3-5 editions.

You're snugly in the wrong.

here's why. You are talking about a book thats extremely old.

The only way to get an extra attack on the charge in 8th is with the Devestating Charge special rule.

Wood Elves are a very old book that has trouble. its not 8th edition, its your army book.

You've gotten 40K confused with WHFB. Also, *whole.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

And for the record, I don't think the fact that one of the less-useful units in an out-of-date book isn't very good because of a rule change means that the whole game got messed up.

8th edition shouldn't change because Wood Elves are bad. Wood Elves should change because Wood Elves are bad.

Well summed up, sir. Wood Elves are so badly in need of a re-release it isn't even funny any more!

Eeeeh, wargaming weren't like this back in my day!
