Well you have gone and done it. Dakka dakka has inspired me to rebuild my necromunda terrain.

I have tried o post pictures before with no luck at all, so we'll see how this goes. Apologies in advance.

Hopefully there's an image above this. Will submit this and check back in a few to correct it if not.

Edit #1 worked
Nothing great to look at, but they are going to be towers to link my skywalk together. I took two of the center piece of ho gauge railroad tresel and connected them with tube and plastic card to make a tower. Will definitely be stealing ideas from some of the greats here on the forums. I have built several of these walkways so far and will be heading across the street to see if the model railroad shop has any more goodies later today. I got 7 of the old tresel a that had been used and poorly assembled for less than the cost of one new in box. So good find there.

The best part of the towers that I built is they just happen to be the exact same height as 3 of the old necromunda bulkheads are. As I hope the next picture shows.

This makes it even easier to mesh what I have already with what I'm going to build. I used to have a full set of necromunda, outlanders and other 40k buildings that used the bulkheads, but they all got ruined just before I got married 13-14 years ago. I have down loaded the specs from yakromunda.com and have started to rebuild.

Square building with steps I made from o gauge plastruct parts. Will get more details soon I hope.

With some metal grating attached, grating is a stiff card stock with round holes in it. Found these at another local shop where I get my plastruct and evergreen.

More to come...some is in my gallery currently.

Also a little late in starting this as I got one supply drop last week. Thanks to Dave who introduced me to Iplasticsupply.com, I am now the proud papa of 96 sheets of .030 high impact styrene to create with. Also due to Dave I have a set of hollow punches coming, held off on the 1" size for now, but had an idea for it while typing this out.

I am waiting on my supply drop this week of an eBay WIN. I picked up roughly three sets of necromunda and two sets of outlanders buildings and bulkheads. Package is in route to me currently. Expect photos when it arrives.

What should you expect from my blog....

No idea, but God help me because I need to get some creativity flowing.

Thanks, hope I haven't wasted too much of your time.

@ Vic I aspire towards mediocrity, greatness is for better people.
@ silverMK2 I have lots of ideas, hopefully my skills will be able to bring them to plastic-life
@valhalla130 don't hold your breath for paint. It will come but I have plans....
@dsteingass thanks for rallying the peeps in your thread, much appreciated, will need all the encouragement I can get.

Just got back from the train shop. My lazy butt drove since it was raining. $20.00 later I picked up a good bit of stuff. Pics later as I have to pick up the kidlets from school, make dinner then take them all back to school tonight for choir and violin concerts. Tomorrow will be another day of taking care of my grandparent in laws. So might have something late tonight or weds. Night to show.

Also need help choosing an avatar, I've been on this site for too long without one and its time to get fully into the game.

I can haz cheeseburger?

I never thought it was a problem, I look at dakkadakka from my I phone or iPad, and run dakkadakka lite as my theme so I don't see avatars unless I'm looking at a quote of someone's. time to time ill log In at school and it will be in the basic theme so ill see some great ones. Just me being jealous.

Maybe I'll try and do a poll for my avatar once we have submissions. Until that time I think I'll look for a "this space for rent" sign picture.

Glad to see you're up and running! Excellent work so far, and you're starting a decent 'who's who' collection from the Dakka terrain modeling scene. I'll point a few other guys this way that will genuinely appreciate your work.

Seeing your lift structure really illustrates the difference in concept application. What you are doing is a lot different than what envisioned and started doing last night based on the same idea (using train trestles as elevators). I'm really going to enjoy sharing ideas / techniques back and forth. It's a great time to be building Necromunda terrain.

There are a couple other guys you may not be familiar with that are building really great terrain right now. I'll post links later.

Subbed.

@skalk thanks, I'll take any advice and steal any ideas I can I got some more bits from the shop today so I'll be doing a different gantry shortly, the ones in the pics are ones i messed around with earlier, but scrapped the idea.

I've been looking through yakromunda.com and saw sone other terrain that looks fantastic, so if anyone has other sites to suggest I'm open.

Stalks has it right, some of the best have shown up here, I appreciate it all and especially the pms (edit: that should have been pm's, but my spell checker has its own mind, didn't want to change it because it was almost appropriate). Was up all night, love the fact trees and plants are blooming, but my allergies are draining and my throat is killing me.

So what does one do when they can't sleep....build stuff. To do that we need a supply drop.

Box o stuff from the train shop. Got girders three more tresels, a reinforce girder bridge and barricades. One of the tresel was a glow in the dark version, already had one that I hadn't cut up yet so I can make "glow in the dark tower of doom."

Used the girders to build my first two pillars. They are about a quarter inch taller than the other towers I made out of the tresel pieces, but I'll probably use them to make legs for an industrial tower. Also made a third tower from the loot. Pretty soon I'll have enough towers and walkways to make a bridge to cross. 4' table.

Also you can see the spryer gang that got a few hours in the jewelry cleaner and super clean. They will be a backup gang to my Escher.

Got my desk cleaned off also. We moved into this house back in August, and my "work" area hasn't been clean since.

While necromunda has been on my mind, I've been introducing my brother in law to bloodbowl. We've been playing on Saturday while the girls and kids are upstairs watching movies and such. He hasn't played any miniature games except axis and allies, and warhammer fantasy, but both were almost 20 years ago. I found rules for a necromunda version of bloodbowl, so we might find a sump pitch in the making soon.

Will be dropping kids off at school then heading to the grandparents house for the twice per century basement cleaning. Hopefully will have time tonight to do some more before getting my statistic homework done.

Making the kids lunches this morning scored me a decent sized peanut butter jar lid. Terrain is everywhere. Wish I hadn't thrown way he little plastic tables that they put in he pizza boxes the other night. Guess I'll have to order pizza again .

Supply drop. Went to the mailbox (family room, we have an 70+ year old home with a mail slot) and found two packages, one eagerly expected, the other not expected at all. Also picked up some more evergreen pieces at the hobby shop this morning, had a 20% coupon that's been burning in my pocket. Also more glue cause I'm having too much plastic crack fun.

First package

Hollow punch set recommended by dsteingass, already put to use....introducing Xena spryer princess

Not going to happen, but just wanted to test them out. I'll have to get the 1" punch (sold separately) for doing my bases as the 3/4" is too small.

Unexpected package. I signed up for this online when they announced they were going to do a kickstarter, but I originally got a notice saying due to such demand, the original 50 or so they had set up for freebies had been already dished out. Well two months later the kickstarter has begun and not getting too much fanfare an this shows up at my door.

What's inside, 2 packs of light kits, each has a circuit board with on off switch, a 9volt power cable, and 5 strands of lights (2 lights per strand).

Will post picture of it lite up when I find a 9volt battery.
Here's the kits

One set will probably go in my dreamforge leviathan crusader.

Battery taken from smoke detector temporarily

I hope it's not a problem that I keep editing my posts, if so let me know if its against the rules. If its just poor form....I can live with it.

Also pic of everything I made this week, very self motivating when I look at the accomplishment.

I must admit that I am jealous of the riveting skills shown in your threads, I have tried my fat hands at it and been found lacking. But I shall continue in my attempts. One day I may become one of the league, probably on a Tuesday, but it will be some time in the future.

@Shasolenzabi - your tanks are awesome, I've lays wanted to o a pure tank army, and with15+ rhinos waiting for attention I could do it, but must focus.

@dsteingass- don't forget industrial owners and space corridors

@hf iznagi- my eBay win is slowly moving across the continent, hopefully Friday I will have enough for a 4x8 table. What is shown is just the plastic card stuff I built this week. I made some o the buildings out of cardboard stock, they might fit in on the board.

@vic- thanks, the supply drops will be slowing own pretty quickly. Lost my job about two months ago, but for now the family finances are sound, and my wife enjoys me being home to handle the kids and the house.

It's pouring down rain here now, so no priming happening, but there will be cutting, measuring, swearing, inspiration, and possibly rivets . Guess I should do some studying for class tonight as well .

Edits vs. new posts- edits do not bump your thread and anyone that has already read through the original post may not see that you've added new info. Dakka can sometimes be a pain in that it limits your post to 'auto-amended' and it doesn't show as an update or bump your thread. A quick fix to that is to find any Dakka bud online and ask them to post something (even ) , they will likely accommodate your request quickly and that will set your thread to update and bump to the top of the list again. You'll be up to 1,873 pages in no time!

I have to replicate the work you are doing right now. I have always wanted that look on my table. I know the terrain I have right now is not bad by any means, but it is squat, no more than 3 levels at any point. I know 18 inch-high narrow towers aren't truly practical in game play , but it looks SO cool and to me that's 1/2 the game. I've played Necromunda with upside-down plastic cups and wooden rulers. It took a lot away from the game.

I'm looking forward to your 4x4 table, would enjoy seeing a full 'action shot'.
