I am playing a 2500pt game tonight vs another Ogre player and was thinking of using the following list:

Tyrant
Sword of Anti Heroes, Talisman of Preservation, Heavy armour, ironfist, Giantbreaker

Butcher
Level 2, Lore of the Great Maw, Sword of Battle, Dispel Scroll, ironfist

Bruiser
BSB, Talisman of Endurance, Heavy armour, Gold sigil sword, Enchanted Shield

8 Ogres
Hand weapons, ironfists, light armour, full command

7 Ogres
Hand weapons, ironfists, light armour, full command

8 Ironguts
Full command, Standard of Discipline

3 Leadbelchers
Bellower

3 Leadbelchers
Bellower

4 Mournfangs
Hand weapons, ironfists, full command, Dragonhide Banner

Thundertusk

The only models I have spare to swap in are a Butcher/Slaughtermaster and a Firebelly.

I am not sure what my opponent will field yet but he does like a Tyrant with Fencers Blades, Potion of Speed, 4+ ward and Giantbreaker.

He also has a 7 man unit of Maneaters with a mix of hand weapons, great weapons and a captain with brace of pistols + vanguard, stubborn and flaming banner

Normally a small unit of leadbelchers and bulls as well.

He also has a gorger he sometimes uses.

I am not sure about stonehorns/thundertusks and ironblasters/scrap launchers.

I am not looking to be uber competitive here and I am hoping he takes a Tyrant so that our leaders can duke it out (especially if both have Giantbreaker for the forced challenges!).

I'm still kind of new, but I can give you some pointers that I've picked up:

Give the Mournfangs HA as well. That 2+ save is killer.

I would suggest picking up at least 1 Ironblaster. Not sure what to take out for it, but its definitely worth its weight in gold.

I would take a Stonehorn over the Thundertusk. You know you are playing Ogres and the main reason to take the Thundertusk is the ASL aura and I'm not sure how beneficial that might be. The icy sphere attack is good, but I think I'd rather have another angry mean charging monstrosity on my side.

I personally would take a Slaughtermaster over the Tyrant and give him Lore of Beasts. Lots of useful buffs in there for ogres. And you can still kit him out similar to your tyrant. Again, thats just my particular play style though.

Only other thing I can think of is using some kind of redirectors - Sabretusks or Gnoblars. Sabretusks are great to divert charges (which will be important in this match up), and gnoblars can work if you can get them out there in the field.

Again, these are just my observations from the games I've played. Feel free to completely dismiss any or all of this advice.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

- Sorry the Mournfangs do have heavy armour, I just left it out of the list when typing.

I do have the Ironblaster model, I just haven't got round to building it yet. I don't know if I will get more than one though.

I might swap the Tyrant for a SM, do you think it is necessary to upgrade to level 4?

Not sure about making the SM too choppy, his stats aren't up to the job I don't think.

I might proxy the Thundertusk as a stonehorn but I thought the ASL aura of the Tusk could be helpful against Ogres couldn't it? Getting my hits in before theirs could be useful when we can both do a similar amount of damage.

I haven't got any Sabretusks or Gnoblars at the moment but some Sabres are definately on the cards. Not sure about Gnoblars though as I kinda want a semi elite feel to the army (and to keep the numbers of models down).

Tyrant slaughtermaster is 10 x better than tyrant, great weapon and 4+ ward glittering scales and fencer's blades also great combo
Sword of Anti Heroes, Talisman of Preservation, Heavy armour, ironfist, Giantbreaker

Butcher firebelly is probably better against ogres
Level 2, Lore of the Great Maw, Sword of Battle, Dispel Scroll, ironfist

Bruiser
BSB, Talisman of Endurance, Heavy armour, Gold sigil sword, Enchanted Shield

8 Ogres
Hand weapons, ironfists, light armour, full command combine these two units

7 Ogres
Hand weapons, ironfists, light armour, full command

8 Ironguts
Full command, Standard of Discipline

3 Leadbelchers
Bellower combine these two units

3 Leadbelchers
Bellower

4 Mournfangs
Hand weapons, ironfists, full command, Dragonhide Banner Get heavy armor as mentioned?

Thundertusk I'd drop it for more ogres if available. Actually some gnoblar trappers would make opposing ogres die in droves for the points.

The only models I have spare to swap in are a Butcher/Slaughtermaster and a Firebelly.

You don't have any other models ? Ironguts, etc even to substitue?

Failed dangerous tests do 1 wound. So trappers do very little to ogres.
I'd split the bulls into 11/4. The 11 gets joined by a character and goes 3 wide 4 deep for ranks and stripping steadfast. The 4 is a support unit.
I put the leads together. Anything you want to shoot at, you're likely to want 6, not 3, firing at anyway. With 6, you can actually survive being charged, or making a supporting charge of your own.
I'm not a fan of the thundertusk or stonehorn, but it can work. With the narrow deep ogre blocks, you leave enough frontage for the Tusk to get into the fight.
The only reason to run a butcher vs ogres is to let the slaughtermaster take a better lore (death).

With what you've got, swap tyrant for slaughtermaster, downgrade butcher to level 1. Squeeze in firebelly if you can, he's worth it just for the breathe. If he ever gets a spell off, it's gravy. Since fireball scales up really well, he's a good back up caster. The firebelly would do well in with the leadbelchers. 2D6 auto hits makes the leads very likely to win combat.
