The models2u website has listed the new releases from Zvezda in 2014.

Not much in the 1/100 tank front I'm afraid. The only things scheduled are the Crusader Mk. IV and Daimler Mk. I both of which had previously been announced for release in 2013 but didn’t make it.

On the plane front however things seem more interesting with the following coming out in 1:144. It looks like they are also releasing something called Airfields (Art of Tactic) in September. I assume this is some sort of air combat game, which would explain the emphasis on planes this year.

Polikarpov Po-2
Henschel Hs 126 B
Tupolev SB-2
Junkers Ju 88
Fairey Battle
Bristol Blenheim Mk. IV

For those interested in the 15mm Modern range, the following will be coming out this year in 1:100.

Soviet:
Ural
ZSU-23-4V1 Shilka
2SI 'Gvodzika'

USA:
M163 Vulcan
M109
M35 Cargo Truck

So a truck, an anti aircraft gun and tank destroyer for each side.

Yes, and you can pickup really cheap Dingos from the Axis and Allies Miniatures line. Just prime and repaint. At $.79 per model, can't go wrong.

Once I get my Zvezda Daimlers painted up, I'll take a picture and post.

Yeah, I've already got a few Matilda II's from Zvezda so when the Crusader Mk. IV and Daimler Mk. I come out I'm planning on grabbing a few for some early war games.

Shilka, Ural and gvozdika, holy crap! Too bad that their kit-prices went up here too, but on the other hand, as QRF rised prices (more expensive than Zvezdas stuff, still) too for everything but MBT/APC/IFV line, and taking on account the quality of their shilka and price/quality of their gvozdika and Ural, I might get the zvezdas ones.

Shame that we are still not getting that BMP this year :/

Yeah it's a pity that Zvezda have dropped the ball somewhat with the pricing of their modern stuff. I know modern tanks are bigger than WW2 ones so I would expect them to be more expensive. But £7 is just too much when the WW2 ones are £3.

Well there is other factors too than the model size, fex. T-35 is larger than T-72 and still it costs 3£, fex.modern wont sell as well as WW2 does due to less-gamed era > production runs smaller > more expensive to product per piece + economic depression + I have no idea how well did the art of tactics did sell versus expectations etc.. On the other hand PSCs 16£/bundle of three is a decent deal (smaller postages to europe), but mostly the problem is (with everything else than APCs) that I dont really need three of them. Though the quality is quite superior to those seen in art of tactics WW2-line.

[hindsight]Also, IMO the decission to go with late-run T-72 w/K-5 was a bit of a miss (lack of AAHMG + if we exclude chechnya, not much of a usage) not to mention that they screwed abrams badly which could have propably been a rather good item in terms of sales. [/hindsight]

But now when QRF bumbed prices (not to mention extremely uncertain quality in 9 out of 10 cases), stuff like ZSU-23-4 will definetly come handy even if bought in single unit packs (QRFs Shilka is 6,5£ as a basic + 20% postals + Paypal coversion fee, ~2-5%= 8,0-8,2£ aka ~9.5-10€ - in comparision, zvezdas models are roughly 7-8€ here at the moment after the price increase) - and when we throw in the PSCs less homogenous quality and soft-ish cast metal, I will propably get mines from zvezda. Not to mention, far more easier to kitbash.

In total, Im growing into feeling that zvezda is mostly competeting customers in homeland with their gaming kits, eurosales going nicely along with their (actual) scale model shipping, marketing and supply-network but without blowing the bank - neither having actuall risk.

The M35 will come in handy for FoW 6 Day War. Surely they won't charge £6.50 for a single truck (if they want to sell any).

Well, Im rather confident that they will.

But why wouldnt they sell any? Both QRF and Skytrex ask same/higher price (QRF 6,5£, Skytrex 7,5£), and in packs of three, its most likely the most affordable option (QRF w/quantity sale ~18,5£, OGs pack of three from Skytrex moulds 17£ or directly from skytrex without quantity sale, 22,5£) being 16£/pack from tPSCs - not to mention few british model stores (I saw one selling BTR-80s out with 5,8£/ea. in some point - no idea was it just campaign though).

Battlefront do one piece resin WWII US 2.5 ton trucks for £7.50 a pair and Forged in Battle do four for £13. I don't see M35s being any different if Battlefront's are one piece resin (when they come out).

Erm, so from your point of view plastic scale model set should competite in price with (mostly) one-piece machine casted resin clumps? Seriously?

Btw, when was the BF M35 announced? 0.o

i would like to see the repaints,As for the Dingo the BF ones are not a bad deal, but you get 3,i only needed 2 so i ebayed the extra one and got 5 bucks for it.
The airplane game sounds like fun.Me and are players have been wanting some good air combat rules.especially being able to use the rule for dogfights and better bombing runs. It has gotten to us so bad that we were about to rip off the 40k flier rules.

Clumps? What are you talking about? FiB's Opel Blitz's (to take a like for like example) are far superior to Zvesda's offering.

I really cant say anything about such comparision as I dont have FiBs blitz, but I was referring to BFs own single piece resin casts, aka clumps. Though I did enjoy zvezdas trucks (ZiS was better IMO), they are a bit hard to put together if youre going to do 10 of them.

But when was the M35 announced?

I agree about the trucks, having put together 6 Opels from them I've decided to go to FIB for any future ones. You can get a pack of 3 for about £9-10 on-line. Works out at about 20p extra per truck which is a bargain not to have to assemble the damn things.

Zvezda's tanks however are a joy to assemble.

Having re-read the FOAN booklet it appears they aren't actually required, the lists use the GMC 2.5 ton truck instead. However the two are pretty much interchangeable as far as FoW is concerned so I'll probably go with the FiB GMC over the Zvesda M35s.

OK, so does anyone know when this is, like actually coming out:

ZVEZDA WWII: British Armored Car Daimler Mk-1 1/100

As a gamer I have a profound amount of patience, but it's been more than a year now since first announced.

Also, do you think the recent sanction on Russia might have any impact on release time.

Thanks!

humm, most of those planes can be used in BGK. I wonder if that's a coincidence

Well, I won't be buying any £20 resin kits, I will wait for these guys to get their releases out.
Unless they take a year to release them...

This picture just went up on Zvezda's website. Looks like its a Dingo they are releasing as opposed to a Daimler I. Still a useful kit though.

PSC do very nice plastic tigers (four to a box for about £18 iirc). I'm still waiting for their T-35s to make an appearance.

Actually I've just checked a couple of stockists and FOW Dingos cost about £7 for a blister pack of 3, which actually makes this new Zvezda kit more expensive than official FOW miniatures. Pity.

So I have been waiting almost two years for a plastic Daimler I, and it turns out to be a Dingo. Which I already have a number of. Great.

Any chance that this is in addition to the Daimler I?

Decent, but that barrel looks a bit flimsy.I wonder how hard it would be to convert to a AA tank.
