Hi guys sorry to bother. I just wanted to let anyone interested know that we were considering doing a small kickstarter to fund a line on "Kreig Dwarf" infantry and occompanying officers. We figure they would have many uses in the 28mm genre and if successful enough could lead to weapons teams, ogres and possibly more for the gaurd player with different tastes. Here is some artwork below. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Our humble little project has begun.

Could be fun. But you will need to tell us who is sculpting these, or show some example sculpts

I totally understand. We haven't decided yet but I assure you it will be someone who has done dwarfs before and very well. Also thought of digital but worry the grimyness of the range may not translate though still a likely possibility. Thanks for the feedback!

I'd be absolutey keen.

10 man squad, 5 man command, and some heavy weapons teams? I'd be on this like a fat kid on a cupcake.

The artwork is nice, but a kickstarter would sink or swim based entirely on the sculpts, I think.

I like them, but figure they could be a bit more stout. They look like they are in proportion

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

As the others have said getting (at least) one sculpt done by your chosen artist would help you out no end (assuming it's well done)

If that's not possible you'd need to have a sculptor people would be confident could work to the art

I look at the two pictures, and I just dudes with beards. I don't see Dwarves. Maybe if there was more artwork, or something to give a sense of scale, but, right now, they don't really feel like Dwarves to me. They almost look like Blackbeard with a helmet.

Maybe you should commission Tre Manor, he's been talking Sci-Fi lately?

Right now they do look like pirates. Perhaps more artwork would allow us to make a better decision. I do not see dwarves. Need to build on the concept which is intriguing.

Thanks guys for the thoughts. The plan is definately to have a couple sculpts done before actually starting a funding. More art is to come as well. All great points by you guys! Tre would be great my only worry he may super busy already!

Looks great. You got me on board.

I just need a two-man heavy weapon team, and a guy who comes with flame thrower and gernad launcher opions.

Yeah the plan would be basic infantry plus special weapons bearers (grenade launcher and flamer) all in the initial platoon. The heavy weapons teams would be an add on but not something you would have to unlock or anything. It's gonna be small to start but if we get enough backers we could go specials like Ogryns or cavalry ( I know sounds silly for dwarves!)

Ofcourse it might not be my place to say since I won't be buying into these anyways since my to do pile is quite high but they don't look very dwarvish to me, I was expecting something more along the lines of the ogres/sci-fi dwarves that scibor produces only then with gasmasks . They look pretty good but to me the helmet is a bit out of place to be honest, would do better with either open face or, you know, a gasmask I think. Maybe without or with an open helmet you can make them look more like, well, dwarves ...

Yep, I'll take a full platoon.

Thanks for the comments guys. The plan is to start in early April, know for sure in couple days. In regards to size an look I could see how someone would look at the art and worry their not stocky enough but the officer seems to have come out a bit closer to the right look than the artwork. The flamer trooper will be wearing a rebreather akin to a gas mask.

Looking at the site I see some 28mm figs that would be great in my Rogue Trader crew (they look like they are wearing gothic space suits), but I don't see them in the store?

Will the weapons be molded onto the figures or will they be separate pieces?

I am really interested in these and like what I am seeing so far.

Thank you for the kind words! An yes the weapons are removable/ seperate for all the basic infantry. The officers sword arm is seperate as well.

The sculptor needs to go to a museum and look at real barrel helms. The eye slots are way too far apart.

And realizing you're in Yuma, which has a shortage of good armor museums, here's a link with a few pics and a bibliography.

Well we do have a Wild West museum ( Yuma Prison and quartermaster depot) but I guess that shouldn't be a surprise on a serious note we may adjust the vision slits. Plus if we get high enough we might be able to add storm troopers!

Hi guys!

For anyone interested our little campaign to create the aforementioned Krieg Dwarves has begun. If we get high enough we will add stretch goals of additional units but for now we are just hoping to get the basics done. Thanks for looking guys. The link can be found in the original post or below.

Hi guys! Sorry to bother just another small update. Below is art for the Dwarf Standard bearer. The actual miniatures standard will be longer ofcourse but just wanted to make sure it didnt take up too much of the picture. We are toying around with the look of the Krieg Veterans as well. The look isnt final as it hovers too close to a termi look but they will be large and formidable either way. Should have pics of the finished Flame weapon bearer miniature as well this week. Thanks for looking.
