I live in australia that means a HUGE hike in prices for whatever reason (my guess corporate greed) but thats not what this post is about.

i was hoping some of my aussie peers could point me in the direction of a good site that sells WFB and/or 40K models at the cheapest price.
the shelf price and GW prices can't possible be the cheapest.

and im not talking recasters, i know a few places for that already and as appealing as it seems i would like to support GW but i cannot foot the bill for the standard aussie prices.

i dont have contacts overseas that can ship stuff to me, i also have trust issues so i wouldn't ask a stranger to do it for me.

any help would be great.
i was told maelstormgames was the best once upon a time but they are gone now so not much use.

Those guys are pretty tops, I've been gradually getting more and more from them, hard to resist when most stuff is 25% off.

@ellis no offence but i would rather not, moneys tight and im too paranoid to offload it to a complete stranger.

It really depends on what sort of basis you intend to buy models. If it's small orders sporadically I would suggest somewhere like Games Empire as people have mentioned.

However if you do larger orders to tide you over for a while, then I would actually suggest The Combat Company. For orders over $100 you get free shipping and they do a fairly comprehensive range at 10%-20%. However at the larger end of orders from other companies which do not offer free shipping, you can actually make a decent saving. They also have good customer communication via the message system on their site.

As usual don't expect much from any retailer in regard to more recent GW releases (as they get grossly and maliciously undersupplied by GW).

If you check most overseas sellers (the ones which will actually ship genuine GW kits to AUS) once you add up shipping and conversion rate margins, then you're only looking at a couple of dollars difference between here and there. Now personally I'd rather have my products in hand in a couple of days rather than a couple of weeks and it also significantly reduces the chance of delayed/lost/damaged goods.

So it depends whether you have the patience to save a few bucks by buying overseas or would shill out a few extra to have it in the next couple of days (in most cases the very next day).

I've just started getting back into 40k after a bit of a break, and I'll probably be buying my stuff from the Combat Company. But that's mostly because I work 10 minutes away from their store so I'm not paying shipping.

+1 for Combat Company - their customer service is fantastic, at least, for Australian standards .

Also, if you don't mind 2nd hand stuff, try getting hold of Donald Li on the Facebook page of Wargames Swap & Sell (https://www.facebook.com/groups/192684244127536/).

Another recommendation for the Combat Company. I've done several large and small orders with them and everything has been a breeze. They've even thrown me in a few freebies on bigger orders. I know they opened a retail shop last year, but I can't remember where it is off the top of my head.

Russell and Ness are nice people and I've never had any issues with them when I've ordered stuff.

I usually get overnight delivery (so it's on my doorstep next morning) but I'm only up in Newcastle.

Sounds like all the Wargamers are in Sydney..

Kayjay still works out cheaper but Combat Company seems to have some Battleforces that are no longer available.

I purchased off discount games store on ebay in the us.
Great prices but nearly two months before some auctions were sent .
Communicate poorly and honestly until everything turned up thought I had been ripped off.
