I'm just curious as to what the most played CSM legion is. From what I've seen, Black Legion was actually the least popular, yet they get their own supplement.

If you play a Warband derived from one of the original legions, e.g. Angels of Ecstasy, put it as 'other' and post what you play. If you play several CSM legions, just put them all down as multiple choice is allowed.

Emperors's Children is the only chaos army I've ever played or will ever probably consider playing.

I don't play Chaos Space Marines "per se" however, all my armies are secretly Alpha Legion. All of them.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

My own warband made from a group of heritage Sons of Horus (Everyone gets Veterans of the Long War! upgrade) called the Disciples of Horus that splintered from the Black Legion.

The currnet CSM codex does a really bad job of representing any legion but Black Legion. It would be really hard to make an Iron Warriors or Night Lords army out of the CSM book and 1 page of rules and some artifacts.

the CSM codex does Black Legion and renegades that fight similar to Black Legion.

Right, but that would surely not suggest they should get a supplement? Like, Ultramarines don't get a supplement AND a codex?

They got one because GW wanted to sell more books. They created a lot of Chaos players with DV. There were already a lot of Chaos players from before 6th edition. They wanted $$, so they needed to create supliments. When they got to looking at the CSM codex, the only thing they could make was Black Legion and Crimson Slaughter.

I kinda have to disagree - they could've released dataslates with optional rules for the different chapters; like Basilisks for Iron Warriors, better Cultists of Alpha Legion etc. They still might (as with Index Astartes back in the day) though.

Thousand Sons are my first, best loved army for the "traitor" legions. To a lesser extent, I also have smaller EC and WB armies.

Does anyone think GW will actually give us Legion specific books that make it so it actually feels like we're playing our favorite legion?

I highly doubt it.
If they did, and didn't mess it up, I'd consider going back to Chaos. But as of now, Chaos is just too bland and generic.

The fluff behind these guys is great, and i am eagerly awaiting their HH 30k release... it will prompt my next purchase from FW...

and id LOVE a thousan sons book, be it proper part in the codex or some sort of black legion treatment but well not rubbish like the BL book was.

I'd be all over a Thousand Sons supplement.
Or a new plastic kit for them. That upgrade kit is too costly. :( I already collect SOB, I don't need another super expensive army.

The reason that kit is costly is each one has a sorcerer in it... soo if you had enough packs of them you get yourself a apoc formation its silly but thats how it goes unfortunately. they are close in the 30k series apparently.... so im hanging...

I don't play them as of yet but I am planning a Word Bearers army. I like the idea of guys going around and spreading the word of chaos to the poor masses by appealing to their desire for freedom. Little do the masses know that life under Chaos is no better than under the Imperium and often worse. Really GrimDark.

Ironically, it seems the two supplements that came out are for among the least-played legions...
