Been playing around with variations on this list and may have settled on this version:

Farseer
Jetbike, Shard of Anaris, Singing Spear, RoWa, RoWi
Farseer
Jetbike, Singing Spear, RoWa, RoWi
Warlock x8
Jetbike, Singing Spear
Baron Sathonyx

Dire Avengers x5
Wave Serpent, Holo-fields, SC and TL SL

Dire Avengers x5
Wave Serpent, Holo-fields, SC and TL SL

Dire Avengers x5
Wave Serpent, Holo-fields, SC and TL SL

Dire Avengers x5
Wave Serpent, Holo-fields, SC and TL SL

Kabalite Warriors x5
Venom, SC x2, Grisly Trophies, Night Shields.

I have never played in a tournament before and only have a 50/50 win/loss ratio with my lists so I am not exactly setting the world on fire here, just wondering if it will work in a competitive setting. My tourney is not for 2 months so I have time to get to grips with the army properly.

The biggest weaknesses that I can think of is the lack of dedicated anti-flyer and the lack of ability to beat AV14. Would I be better served by dropping one of the Wave Serpents and take 3 War Walkers with Bright Lances instead ?

Nice clean list, Very solid, Im guessing your tactic is run up the field and pop out giving some lovely Shrunken Catapult shots at the enemy

Exactly, lol. It's not very imaginative for sure, and I am confident that my post may draw as much hate as any "Serpent Spam" list appears to get. Thanks for the approval though.

Do you think I need to drop one of the DA Serpents in favor of the BL Walkers, or is there not likely to be much in the way of triple AV14 lists in a competitive environment ?

I'd drop a Serpent for whatever AT you deem fit, just to stop any AV 13+ you'll have to deal with. Like a Knight.

As far as competitive AV14 goes, don't expect it as it costs a lot and isn't always effective (rock, paper, scissors) and even so, the council doesn't care because they can armour bane it apart (getting +1S power helps with this).

Also for dedicated AA, 4 serpents can probably do well though if you fight 4 storm ravens then you have problems as they can glance you to death before you get to shoot (though this is rare).

Most important thing with council is, protect them, if you don't get fortune it can all fall apart pretty fast. Second most important thing, protect the venom (LOS blocking terrain is good for this) because without re roll psychic tests they can go poof. Lastly, make sure the baron cannot get singled out/ is closest model, because if he dies the whole thing starts to fall apart.

Hope this helps!

Some-one else actually suggested swapping the Kalabites for Wyches with Haywire Grenades. I have the points spare to do that and still get the second splinter cannon and grisly trophies. Seeing as the venom is due to be following the seer council around having the extra AV12+ damage on hand sounds a promising idea ?

List would now look like this:

Farseer
Jetbike, Shard of Anaris, Singing Spear, RoWa, RoWi
Farseer
Jetbike, Singing Spear, RoWa, RoWi
Warlock x8
Jetbike, Singing Spear
Baron Sathonyx

Dire Avengers x5

Wyches with Haywire Grenades x5
Venom, SC x2, Grisly Trophies.

Yeah. I can tell you from first hand experience, Wyches are bloody annoying when it comes to Dark Eldar Whyches (Basically the same) with the Haywire Grenades, They can really mess up your Dreads and Tanks

Last thing, which by no means changing your list without playing it first is, dropping 1 serpent/avengers and taking another venom with whyches/trophies/2 SC, and firesaber on the second seer.

Reason being it lowers your AA, but gives you more damage output when you thing of 12 BS4 shots TL (guided) then 4s to wound can put the hurt on MC or TEQ units. Also the firsaber gives you needed Ap3 for those challenges.

Looks pretty good. I would not take war walkers with this list. Spears are enough.

I would take a stock Wraitghknight instead of 1 Serpent + Avengers, if you have the model.

Don't currently own a Wraithknight, though it is on my wish list. Played this list last night and enjoyed much success, albeit against a weaker opponent who wasn't prepared for the cheese factor involved. I was able to down his flyer with the 4 serpents pretty quickly and the council made light work of his transports and tanks. Think I will keep to this list for a while as I focus on learning how to play it properly. Thanks for all the input
