Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste

The Wyvern is a 380 point lord choice.
For 390 points, you can get a normal orc warboss on a wyvern, and another whole orc warboss on foot.

This would let you keep the general on foot and where you need your leadership, and let the wyvern fly off and do it's thing.
The only advantage of the wyvern is the cheapness of it.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I have to give you credit for trying a 'dragon' in todays game. Big monsters are such a fantasy staple, yet so few are used due to the native imbalances of the Warhammer game.

I like trying to fit in my orc wyvern, my HE dragon or my Bret hippogriff into their respective armies. But it can be so difficult.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Actually the only reason I take the wyvern is 18" Ld bubble. He tends to hide behind the blorks and trolls. Cannons are the only problem I've really had with that since the model is actually the same height as the trolls and I get hard cover against BS shooting. Fortunately there aren't many cannons in the meta I play in.

If you can agree to play in games with few or no cannons big monsters are back in, and they are so fun. I'm very happy there are so few of them floating around my gaming store.

If you're hiding and using him for LD, I'd get Gorbad. 15 points cheaper, and counts as both the BSB and the General, with Ld10, and he helps out with failed animosity checks.
If you don't like special characters, then I'd still downgrade to a basic orc warboss. You're still Ld9, but it frees up quite a few points.

At the very least, don't take a Black Orc on a Wyvern. +1 Weapon Skill is not worth all those extra points, and ItP and Quell Animosity don't mean anything.

I'd also suggest a non-Night Goblin lvl4. A 1 on that Mushroom die means the end of the magic phase.

And Grobspit? I dunno. Not sure how useful he is. Maybe if you made his Def Creepers bigger...?

The Flip side is that on a 2+, you're making it really tough for your opponent to dispel, and possibly stealing a dispel die if he doesn't dispel.
Night Goblin Wizards are really cheap. I've made good use out of a pair of them passing around armor piercing and stealing dice. An extra channel or two doesn't hurt either.
A level 2 night goblin has about a 60% chance to 1 die the signature spell, which then has a 33% chance of stealing a dispel die if your opponent lets it go off. Armor Piercing attacks are generally useful, and re-rolls to hit and wound for attacks from a flank/rare is incredible.
It's a pretty good way to kick off a magic phase.

Being able to effectively 7 dice a 25+ Curse of da Bad Moon is likewise awesome. The chance of success with the Mushroom die is better than the odds of Failure without it; 1 in 6 auto failure comes up less often than not rolling 21 on 6 dice (need a 25+).

The best reason to keep the Goblin is the vortex. Not just for the damage it does, but for the vortex special rule. According to the faq, units cannot move into/through a vortex. On a 15", you can cast the small vortex to totally block a charge.

Gorbad's kinda pointless since the only orc unit is black orcs. I like snagla. If I could I would take more deff creepers, but I've also found they work just fine as five.

The reason for the black orc warboss is for the armor and WS Regular orcs can't take mundane heavy armor and WS 7 does come in handy. That said Ima drop him down so I can add a doom diver.
