Focus your army more and put more scoring troops on the field. You only have 20 troops and only 15 in transports. *Your going to get run for objectives.* Unless your deep striking your assault termies arent going to see much combat so id drop those in favor of a sternguard, dev, or assault squads in a drop pod. Also your marines, so you dont need that ageis much, i would reccomend a skyshield with the sides up instead. That inv will come in handy more than the cover will. And finally i would drop the razorbacks for rhinos with full tac squads .

Thanks
i was thinking of keeping the lasbacks for anit MC and armor also if i dont go first they at least suck up one heavy weapon shot...
i am gonna deep stike the termies
and i have 4 5 man scoring units and one hard as nails 10 man scoring unit in the BA assault marines

4-5 man squads can be mostly wiped out in a turn and then you only have the assault marines who are gunna be targeted. Then there goes your scoring. At 1850 i would have a minimum of 40 troops to help with objectives, just suggesting. And for AA use a stalker. 75Pts for an effective AA tank? I think so

Better but razorbacks can only have 6 troops/per. Also you still have that ageis in there, pretty useless for the points with marines.

Scout's are pretty pointless. I mean, sure they score, but I have killed max maybe a bad guy or two the whole game in my past experiences with them.

So, my input is to swap out the scouts and razorbakcs, for a librarian and rhinos, because marines are but blades of grass on the tabletop. If you don't give them a librarian and metal boxes to help keep them alive you will quickly run out of scoring units these days.

Thanks for the feed back but...
If I take off the lasbacks how do I deal with higher armor, MC, or mister riptide from distance... drop pods hasn't really worked against Tau

I run a pure drop pod list and wreck tau on my alpha strike.

But to deal with armour and mc's you have a few options. You could drop the thunderfires in favor of a lascannon dev squad. And add a 1/2 missile with frag and 1/2 multimelta dev squad too. Or you could go the vehicle route and go with a stalker for AA and a few predators with lascannons for anti armour. Or you could go meltagun heavy in your army and just have every squad that can take a meltagun. There are alot of possibilities really.

You can take out those power weapons to free up some points too. You dont really need them

Well for lack of a better way of putting it... you did pick Salamanders. I also play them, and it is our weakness if you play it fluffy like. One thing I've found relatively good is to pray you get the first go about and use your tac squads to move as a group and melta them one by one. Naturally plans never survive actual contact with the enemy but yeah...

Obviously the best way to handle MCs is with assault cannons, plasma weapons, and grav weapons, but seeing as that isn't your style, you make the best with what you got, and use tactics and strategies appropriate to the map and mission at hand, and you'll do fine.

thanks for the advise... it helped a lot ive changed it up a bit no more lasbacks... two rhinos and a dp, and 1 dev squad...
is there any advise or comment on the detachments... the idea is to either DS them or jump run, jump assault into them... it averages into about 37inch covered with an assault

I wouldnt DS them, they wont be able to charge that round and are left vulnerable to be shot up. Just deploy them out of LOS
