Went into lidl today, and saw a great grass type mat, with rubber backing.
2mx1m for only 5.99, perfect for gaming.

Felt sort of thing with foam back and rubber gripper.
Check it out. only 4 at our local store.
It is perfect for gaming, similar to GW's offering but more heavy duty.

Thanks for the extra pics, looks like a good buy. Going to pick up a couple!
I notice Aldi are doing them the week after as well, but £1 more expensive.
I wonder if they might take well to a little drybrushing to get some lighter shades or colour variance.

At first I couldn't find any pic worth pasting then bingo, and I thought that'll do the lads.

Worth pointing out it is effectively 6'x3' in case others missed it, so it isn't ideal for wargaming, but for the price it is probably a compromise that can be lived with.

The Amazon link seems to have a ton of size options available.
And since my usual game is in 3x3, that doesn't bother me any even if it were the case. Not sure I really need one, but it's good to at least have options.

don´t you get these matts in hardware stores and diy stores?...we have one of these as a looks like lawn carpet on our balcony...never would have considered these good for tabletop tho...hmmm... they´re usually dead cheap ...

Got one of these from ALDI today, highly recommended. Grass looks a lot nicer in person than the bright green in the photos, the texture is great too, perfect for gaming on.
They're not 3 foot, they're wider, about 3 1/2 foot.
So, all you really need to do is shave about 3" off your deployment zone and it's fine.

Told you they were good. 2 metres x 1 metre.
