No.
He wrote the Iyanden Supplement, but that is about all he's contributed (as far as we know) to 40K 6th. He did a bit of fantasy (Daemons?), but his "active days" of 5th Edition seem to be behind him (as far as visible "his" game-supplement outputs go... I am sure he still does.. um ... something. Drink tea with Jervis Johnson or something).

Most of the new releases are "GW Design Studio" so you can no longer put a name to a book. Also, I hear he's mainly a Fantasy writer after people hating on him.
Looking back now, I wish the worst thing wrong in 40k was Ward Codecis. The Necrons, while needing a points adjustment on the flyers, are well made for 6E and are still highly viable, considered more so than the first two official 6E codecis. Grey Knights, while back breaking at the end of 5E, are still mid-teir these days.
Ward got flak for some broken stuff like Draigowing, but that was more a symtom of wound allocation shennanigans of 5E, since the Paladinstar is all but dead in 6E (except us crazy guys who run it! KALDOR DAYGLOW!).
But almsot every unit in a Ward Dex was viable. They always were more flavorful than the last, if not a bit childish in the Mary Sue application. But looking at the releases we have now that are either so vanilla, rote, or lacking (poor bugs, part deux), I'd much sooner go back to the absurdity of Ward's style.
So let be official that I say: "I am sorry, Mat Ward, for giving you a load of grief in yesteryear. You may not be perfect, but you're still dammed lovable."
(As an aside, I would love to have a melting pot of 5E and 6E rules, take the best of both, smooth out the rough edges, and play that kind of 40k.)
Yeah, had to go with the Gyrinx...I mean kitties. That and Ork humour.
Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Clearly, he's writing Codex: Adepta Sororitas.
It will be 208 pages long, and have rules for Frateris Militia, Arbites, Sisters of Silence and better Penitent Engines.

A longbeard when it comes to Necrons and WHFB. Grumble Grumble
The aesthetics of 40k are absolutely tops for me. I love the cartoonish grimdark and gothic look of everything, and no other manufacturer makes models that appeal to me the same way. The game itself is fun and dynamic, and as long as you're playing with fun folks (as I always do) it's a good time. I've met some of my best friends through this game. I also love that it's not hard to find a game wherever you go, since any major metropolitan area will have at least a few FLGS or clubs to play at.
Also, kitties. Come on. If you don't vote for that you don't have a heart.
The painting of the models, it kind of goes hand in hand for me, i love the models from many years ago and enjoy painting them over other companies stuff!

"Nah, I'm just way too lazy to stand up so I keep sitting and paint" - Sigur
"I think the NMM technique with metals is just MNMM. Same sound I make while eating a good pizza" - Whalemusic360
I picked the models, because (despite the extortionist prices) they look gorgeous (except for the new IG releases). I have picked up more than a handful of models just to assemble and paint them, even though I don't run the armies they come from, just because I like the look of them so much. If I had more money, i might do it more often. I also love all of the fluff (except perpetuals). I haven't picked up another (cheaper) miniatures game to replace 40K, simply because nobody out there comes close to 40K's fluff. I also love the painting, and I especially love the kittehs.
I hate Mat Ward's fluff with a firey passion. If I ever meet him, I will push him down and take his lunch money...
...And then i will sheepishly admit to him that, while his fluff is atrocious, the motherfether writes rules like Motzart writes a symphony. There are no boring units in a Mat Ward codex. I would be the first to champion his return to 40K codex writing, as long as he wasn't allowed near the fluff.

It's times likes these... when they get most dire... you can always rely on the Ward Save.
The models, the painting, building, fluff, gaming, setting... basically everything. There is honestly nothing (apart from a diminishing number of local players) that I don't like about 40k... well, maybe the prices, but the game itself is brilliant.

Eeeeeeeeeyyy!
That was wonderful.
I like the models! (they're pretty) and the fluff!(it's entertaining) and before they got rid of it, the oldschool WD with Standard Bearer and that loveable rascal Jervis.
WMG: The last ever story of 40k will finally hit M42; only to reveal that Trazyn has completed his greatest heist; stuffing the entire universe into a hyper-pocket.

Ward strikes me as a good guy to assign to a codex if it's a bit weak and needs some reinvention. Give him 'nids for 7th edition
Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
It has always been about the models for me, specifically the vehicle models. 40K is the only tabletop game that allows vehicle kits at that size to be used. So that's why I started 40K.
See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

I'd let him near the fluff as long as his work read like the stuff he did for the WD Sisters codex.

Asking for positivity in a thread with a poll that got Matt "I defecate on your fluff" Ward - impossible!

I love the fluff, and the painting, and the models! The community is pretty great too, with all the podcasts (The IC's, The Overlords, etc) and forums like Dakka!
I love painting and modelling the figures, and the evocative fluff.
Also, if we are missing people, I miss Rick Priestly and Fat Bloke.
