Hey everyone. Long time lurker feel it is high time I started posting some of my stuff. Currently working through the plastic mountain and it is the turn of some Wolves of Fenris to get some love.

I have painted 13th Company/preheresy style wolves before but never the more blue grey style. Been a lot of fun doing these so far. I don't usually paint in sub assemblies but thought I'd give it a go with these guys. Not sure I'm a huge fan of it think in future I will build most and just keep things separate if they make things awkward when airbrushing or reaching with a sable brush.

Here is my current progress stuck together and waiting for some washing and shading. They look really odd with no black lining!

And the back packs and shoulder pads are on their way

Will post more updates soon. Hopefully it will keep me focused and motivated.

I have a hard time feeling interested or inspired when I see Space Marines these days; I've seen them for so many years.

But you've managed to do that, so I say kudos! They look great so far.

Cheers Accolade. I know what you mean about seeing so much of something it is difficult for them to stand out.

Well it was going ok until I tried experimenting with an oil wash. I ended up not thinning it enough and even after a couple of hours of cleanup it has left them looking grimy and not in a good way. Still I'll chalk this one up as a learning curve as otherwise I'll just get irritated with them and that defeats the point.

To have a change of pace I'm doing some Blood Angels next

Hey everyone.

I had intended to take some WIP pictures of these guys but I got far too into actually painting them. They all have magnetised jump packs/ back packs and the Sarge has magnetised weapon options.

Onto the pictures!

Hey everyone.

This week's project is some Ultramarines. Doing these for a friend at a local club here in Wales and following a tutorial http://thetwelveolympians.co.uk/painting/tutorials/ultramarines-blue

I have made some changes, preshading with a wash made from black and Vallejo glaze medium and pin washing with nuln oil and lahmian medium 50:50 mix instead of oils. These are very fun to paint.

And the next few ready to face the airbrush

What do you guys think?

And updates! Bolters, eyes, and other details done may add some more chipping certainly redo one of the shoulder pads. Then on to other 5 and bases.

Hi everyone, here is my latest finished squad. These guys were a lot of fun to paint and I'm currently working on a How To video for them.

Onto the pictures!

Hi everyone

With all the Space Hulk excitement I've dug out my 2009 set and my unfinished Blood Angel army themed around a strikeforce clearing a hulk in order to get them done using techniques and experience I've gained over the years I have been painting.

So far here is a regular thunder hammer terminator I'm testing out my recipes on. The basecoat and shadows were applied by airbrush.

I am having a lot of fun doing the details by glazing up the highlights so I also started a Space Hulk guy completely by hand. Here is where he stands at the end of the second highlight colour (50:50 Mephiston Red and Evil Sunz Scarlet) after many many layers.

And the xenos side of things is getting done as well

What do you all think?

Can't believe this hasn't had more comments, there's some really great stuff here! Very much reminiscent of the GW style, and nicely executed at that!

Thanks I always try to be neat and clean even with battle damage effects.

With the test terminator finished I've cracked on with a commission of Space Hulk using the airbrush method

Bit of a delay in posting but to say sorry I've also painted my starting GorkaMorka mob to go along with this scratchbuilt trukk. WIth the heavy armoured look I think the Iron Warriors scheme fits really well. What do you all think?

Man I am really bad at keeping this blogging thing going.

To atone here is the latest commission. Preheresy Imperial Fists with more to come. What do you all think? Also made a very cheap lightbox from a cardboard box and white tissue paper. Makes picture taking a breeze.

Some personal hobby this time to wash away the yellow. I live Iron Warriors and I'm always super happy that they are easy to paint

Some more Iron Warriors as I was all fired up from the terminators.

I am very bad at updating. Here are a few pictures of things I've worked on. More can be found in my photobucket by clicking a picture.

And I made a short tutorial showing how I make my bases

Finishing up some Dark Eldar. Once the main edge highlights were done the rest came together easily and were a lot of fun to do.

Going through some old boxes I found my Night Goblins. I love these guys but it's time they went to Ebay to make some room. Lots of fun to do back in the day.

Hi everyone

After a year of painting Iron Warriors for myself and a few other commission projects time to revisit an old army. Once long ago I had Ultramarines and with a box and a bit of Calth hanging around thought why not go with the boys in blue.

First rhino painted.

and a couple of WIP shots to show how the stages change things.

Storm Talon no.1

Fixture of Dakka

Some nicely executed paintwork there, TheBrushKnight, but there are a couple of spots were a little more prep-work would be recommended.

For example, the last picture of the Storm Talon shows some pretty clear mould lines or seams on the assault cannon that could've used scraping off before painting. Some would also argue the need for gun barrels to be drilled out (see the Ultramarines Land Raider front-on shot, with the assault cannon and multi-melta).

Trying to be constructive for you here - the painting and the weathering is really good, but the little bits where ten more minutes on prep would make all the difference kept catching my eye.

Thanks for the comments. I agree about mould lines etc. and I do wish I was being paid to assemble and prep the models as well. However the client is happy with them as is and that is the important thing. The hardest part of doing commissions is painting to what someone has ordered and not getting carried away and doing more than I can afford to.

The Storm Talon now has a twin which I forgot to take pictures of Just finished this Vindicator. It was requested to be more heavily chipped and weathered than the rest of the army as there is always at least one in the client's army lists. A real veteran of the tabletop. Also requested was something to show a melta blast on the front dozer. I have never done anything more than some heat on weapons before so armed with that knowledge and google images of welding heat marks I produced something simple but reasonably effective.

Busy week this week. So far finished these two.

First up a second vindicator. To go with the first but where the previous one was damaged this one is almost factory fresh.

And in a change a different colour Land Raider.
