Sounds like a fun list! Where do you plan on putting the librarian and what would you run him with?

I'd be ditching the typhoon for a second stormtalon, not too sure about the power fist either. Also make sure your Libby has an axe. Otherwise looking good.

I think in a small points game, a Librarian at level 2 with a force stave taking Biomancy can be really awesome! I am not a huge fan of predators, but if you need some anti-tank I suppose they can get the job done like that. For 280 points though, I'd probably take a dev squad at 178 for 7 w/4x lascannon and then a TFC.

I'd try and fit a Inquisitor with servo skulls in there... REAL fun for denying infiltrators... I've had a lot of success keeping people out of key pieces of terrain until i can get there...

The librarian would be going with a tactical squad, based on what I'm up against I might be inclined to combat squad the 1st tactical squad and have him with the fist.

I know it's not optimal, but I really want a sergeant with a melee weapon, it's either a power fist or a power sword. If I downgraded it to a power sword?

Yes, they do, as they are characters. The only sergeant I can think of who would benefit from it though would be the centurion sergeants since they have 2 wounds, the other ones only have 1 wound.

How about I swap out 1 tactical squad for an assault squad, dual flamers with a rhino and upgrade the landspeeder to a thunderfire cannon?

I like where the list is at now, but maybe swap the full plasma squad over to melta, and exchange the predators for Vindicators?

I've edited the list so I can change around the rhinos for razorbacks when I feel like it. Does this look alright? The big changes are the stormtalon skyhammer for twin linked las, dropping the whirlwind and adding in a techmarine, adding in razorbacks and ditching the stormtalon for another tri las.

I don't think heavy bolter razorbacks are good. If you're going to use them as your main anti infantry force, I'd prefer assault cannons; the rend is nice and they're more versatile.

I also wouldn't put heavy weapons in rhinos or razorbacks.. Only being able to snap fire isn't worth it since they'll most likely be moving a lot. I think the best option is 10 man squads, combat squadded in a rhino with a special weapon.. That's a solid 3 Objective Secured units.

3 predators with lascannons is overkill, and thy become useless against blob and horde infantry lists. If you are going to take predators, I'd only take two. A Thunderfire Cannon would do wonders for you instead.

The Techmarine isn't worth the points IMO just to fix a rhino or razorback. If you really want to use him, put him in a LRR or Stormraven.

I've already got a techmarine laying around and it's a fluffy thing I guess since I'm playing an Iron Hands successor chapter. I'd have thought it wouldn't be too bad using him to hang back with the predators and the lascannon tactical squad. Their razorback wouldn't be used as a transport.

My idea was, assault cannon razorbacks are higher priority targets, but the heavy bolters aren't really and are likely to do some damage. Some of them won't even be used as transports, while the tactical squads hunker down in cover.

I've edited the last post since you posted, so have a look again at the other lists please.

I like the first of your last three lists the best.. But I'd drop the Techmarine, lascannon to skyhammers, and the third tac squad for a 2 full 10 man plasma squads in rhinos (that's still 6 units with objective secured if you combat squad!)

I'd then add a TFC.

So autocannon preds instead of tri las? What about the auto cannon dreads? I'm trying to really fit as much firepower as possible into this list.

Since there's already 2 10 man tactical squads, I've been thinking again about the necessity of the 5 man one.

How about dropping the TL-lascannons for AC's, then I can afford to swap it for a Sternguard squad? Or swap the tacticals for a whirlwind and something else?

Totally think psychic schream would be good to have in this list.

And you could try to roll for invisibility for your sterngaurds.

So the tradeoff in firepower is worth it then? I know las sponsons and autocannon was the way to go in 5th, but I've heard alot about due to the points reduction for the tl las turret, it's a waste to stick to the autocannon?

I haven't tried it this edition, but autocannon was better in 6th too. i'd play with it and see what you like before putting the turret on.

I prefer the lascannon for the +1 to the result roll.

And that's my thought too. Like I said, haven't tried yet but I'm guessing the AP 2 makes a big difference.

I made a mistake, 25 points to spare actually.

Is there anything my list may be lacking? Anti armour, monstrous creature, infantry? Should I just invest it in another mastery level for the librarian, or a lascannon for a tactical squad, meltabombs for all, or a meltabomb and 2 combi's for the sternguard?

Go for 5 Sternguard with 2 combi's (melta?) and a meltabomb, or barebones and make the librarian ML 2?
