Subject: The Lord Inquisitor: New "Grey Knights" Trailer
This teaser was pretty big step in locking down and refining our pipeline as we move forward into production of the full film.
Although this teaser contains only Grey Knights (and some servitors!), The Lord Inquisitor will feature many great characters and a truly awesome plot – written, of course, by Aaron Dembski-Bowden. Along with music from composer Adam Harvey (Ultramarines), we’re more than excited about what the future has in store.
From a technical standpoint, it is also important to note that this trailer was rendered completely in real-time. This represents a new era in independent, CGI filmmaking. We’re also using the currently unreleased CryEngine Cinebox. It’s an excellent solution to our team’s needs, and we’re really happy with how things are turning out.
Fantastic work. It's amazing to me this how much better this looks than what GW actually backed for production. Best of luck getting this finished as it looks wonderful!
No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Fang, son of Great Fang, the traitor we seek, The laws of the brethren say this: That only the king sees the crown of the gods, And he, the usurper, must die.
Mother earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe, but I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all, or drown in my own gak.

Rather than being a series of rendered still images played like a cartoon it's rendered at a high speed as a continuous and potentially interactive visual environment. The frame rate it's displayed in is potentially limited only by the format they distribute it and the viewers hardware.

Love the servitors. If it had an accompanying squeaky wheel sound it would be perfect.
This is the dedication and time GW should have put into the Ultramarines movie, which shows how lifeless GW is when the fans have more passion than the company in its product.

I'm surprised GW hasn't stepped up to involve itself in this considering the quality presented and the fact that one of it's most popular Black Library authors is involved.
@ medium of death: the black carapace is sub-dermal. The plugs are the only visible part, added once the carapace has matured. Mind you, that was from my "3rd war for armageddon" white dwarf, don't know if it's still legit.

I am absolutely floored by this ... fantastic work. High dollar production companies do not make this kind of quality sometimes ... outstanding.
Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

And yes, the Black Carapace is implanted over the Astartes' ribcage. There, it grows into his body, and his armor can directly connect to his spine. It is sub-dermal.

I'm curious about the real-time rendering. While it does look very good as is, surely pre-rendering allows you to make it look better? Are you able to pre-render using the same engine?

From what I have read, GW are okay with this, but I haven't seen anything definitive.
It doesn't have the issue of Damnatus with German IP Law issue, so it may be as long as he isn't making money off of it, then he can fill his boots, or as long as GW is allowed to slap IP banners all over the thing then no one can make "Lord Inquisitor" miniatures.
Hopefully it is allowed a full DVD release but no idea if that's ever a reality.
As I would rather not have to download from odd torrents. However the visuals alone blow 'Ultramarine' out of the water.
