While looking at the Vallejo Game Color pamphlet on Vallejo's website I noticed some new paints listed as 'Special Effects Colors'. The list has Rotten White, Rust, Flesh Blood, Dried Blood, Vomit, Verdigris and Dry Rust. I'm assuming these are their take on the recent GW Technical paints (Ryza Rust, Blood For The Blood God, etc).

I also noticed the following on the Stevens International Hobby Distributors website:

That would be awesome - while I already use a lot of their "model air" line, I also have some armies which use their game color - and have to thin those now.

It would be nice to not to bother (and get a more consistent mix).

I'm from the future. The future of space

Vallejo's Model Air line is fantastic, so I expect the game colours in their same premixed bottles will be great as well.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

+1 there. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by each one I buy/use.

I'm not sure about all of the special effects, but I have had a bottle of model color verdigris for at least 3 years, so some of those are not necessarily new.

Thanks for the info. I've been very impressed with the Model Air line and more colors to choose from is fantastic.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Amen to that.

I picked up some of the Model Air White after hearing people rave about it, something to go on smooth and clean up my whites and whatnot.

I was damn impressed. Doubt I'll buy other paints again.

There's no indication whether the verdigris is the same as the existing Model Color verdigris or if it's a new product.

I'm definitely interested in these.

I've been moving over to airbrush paints in the Vallejo, AK Interactive, and Ammo by Mig lines recently.
I would love to have some more colors to choose from, not in the more muted military colors found in the above lines.

I've used the Game and Color ranges extensively but not the Model Air ones. I thoughts they where paints for Airbrushes, can they be used in a conventional manner as well?

Yes, some painters prefer them for brush work as well because of their thin consistency and high pigment concentration.

Interesting. I'll be sure to give them a go.

YES! They can be used with brush, in-fact, some of the bigger sets come with brushes. I like the thinner, but higher pigment consistency of Vallejo Air colors. These are big 17ml bottles though, not a bad thing. Previously, only the Air Primers came in the big bottles. Vallejo Air primer will be your new favorite primer once you try it through your AB.

I wouldn't necessarily call 17ml big. But they do definitely give you a much more efficient use of paint.

Oh, awesome! I love their game color paints, and would've gotten them for airbrushing if they had been made for that at the time (I went with Minitaire, instead). But these will likely be stocked by my FLGS, which Miniatire is not, so I can pick up some colors when needed
