Originally I bought Russians and they just weren't my style, so I wanted to try something quite unique.
Also considered Scotland but...was there any difference between them and other soldiers in the British Empire (one could reflect on a model)?
I certainly know the Indians and Gurkha's looked different...

The models only are different in the Command as the Scots have a BAgpiper.

You need to find something or model something from the 14th Army. It has all sorts of nationalities in it.
Find some 15mm models with Indians in it like Old Glory and do a bit kit bashing
I think you could green stuff some turbans on heads without much hassle
The Indian army fought in Italy(only European action I can think of) so plenty of opportunity there

That's not nearly as interesting as Indians or Gurkha's

Have you looked at Gurkha Rifle Platoon (BR767) from Battlefront?

I did have another question about the Scots, did they have a different uniform colour or anything else distinguishing them from the English?
What about South Africa? Newfoundland?

Battlefront also has Indian infantry miniatures with Sikh turbans.
