I like Tesla, but part of me is a little disappointed he doesn't look like David Bowie.

With the whole storybook angle, I wonder if they'll do any of the Peter Pan characters? They tend to lend themselves well to the steampunk style. I really just want a Captain Hook/ Crocodile XL figure though...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The Lost Boys led by Tallulah Belle (already done) and her bodyguard Mad Pete (to come) seem to fill that role

Talullah fled to London from the Mississippi to lead the Lost Boys, a gang of fierce sky pirates. Her crew swoop down on their foes from the skies, loot, pillage and murder, then jet away thanks to their backpacks.

Though she is fearsome, relentless and ruthless in combat, the youngsters who follow her look up to Talullah as a cherished mother figure and a true hero they would follow anywhere.

Mad Pete is a legend in the Lost Boys gang and fearsomely skilled with bladed weapons. His love of knives is only matched by his dedication to Talullah Belle.

He is her ever-devoted bodyguard and would happily give his life to save her. Something the various scars over his body and face bear testament to.

"I watch you from above; I ride on the wind's back; I command the sky; I am a lightning bolt on a clear day and I have a lot of very, very sharp knives!"

Edit: As the Peter Pan copyright is not yet (or ever) completely open I think this one will always be a faction that alludes to the story rather than uses the exact names/characters

Thankfully the Early Birds are only a whopping £5 to £10 (at the larger pledge level) cheaper, so not too sad to have missed it.

Some very interesting looking miniatures in this one!

And knowing that the miniatures will be sculpted by some real talent doesn't hurt either. And yes, that is my opinion, even if Mikh will put a delay on this project by 6-8 months extra!

I was hoping to be able to stay away from this one, but tesla and Alucard are dragging me in.

Update #2 Jul 10 2014

Upcoming Stretch Goals

is is the bit you were all waiting for right?

Hopefully you won't be disappointed by the range of stuff coming up. I've got masses of cool Stretch Goals planned, so, with any luck these will just be the tip of the iceberg. A terrifying, steam-powered, man-made iceberg ready to cause more mayhem on the streets of London!

And I'm amazed that within the first hour, I'm already showing one of them!

A most dubious gentleman has entered the world of Infamy: Welcome to The Big Smoke! Alucard is an evil man obsessed with the occult (not to be confused with the Yakult) and believes that power resides in the blood of others. He drains his victims and saves up their blood in his complex backpack, which can create potent cocktails for him to drink down!

Currently being sculpted by Gautier Giroud, I should be able to show you more of the sculpt very, very soon!

You can take Alucard as a Regular choice in your pledge, or, you can add him for an additional £12.

More to come:

A mechanical marvel from the workshop of Nikola Tesla.

The all-important flying vermin! Use them to add character to your models or to dive-bomb your friends!

And that's it for now.

Cheers,
James

Hmm - did Infamy run on IGG last time? I've got their Holmes and Watson. Very nice sculpts, though I'm not sure how they'll stand up to the rigors of gaming.

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again: I hate early birds with backer limits. Make them time sensitive and it makes sense to me.

I'm certainly in; Greta models nd the best version of steam punk minis in my mind. But I have no impetus to pledge at this point. 30 more days of waiting.

(Highlord, check Pulp City for more good simians.)

any chance we can scale comparisons to the Wolsung range? Is there any chance to get a preview of the rules prior to the end of the kickstarter?

I know most people are in for the minis, and I may pick up a few to paint, but I will be in more if a) I can use them for wolsung proxies / home made characters and b) the rules are interesting.

Update #3 Jul 11 2014

Two more stretch goals tumble!

This is turning out to be a pretty astonishing night, with two more stretch goals down and over 220 backers now. That's an awful lot of people! Amazing!

So, with more backers and a boosted total amount of backing, I get to show you some more good stuff. First up...

Coming from the dangerous depths of London Zoo, these vicious primates aren't just run-of-the-mill beasts. Uncle John has modified them to enhance their intelligence and their physical strength. This set of two chimps, sculpted by Adrien Debos (who also sculpted Uncle John and KS exclusive Nikola Tesla) comes in at the Large size and consists of a pack leader, vaulting over a post box (an expert in close combat) and a banner bearer (who can increase the synergy of the usually wild Animal Circus).

And on the opposite end of the scale to the wild beasts, the Quaker, prototype gun tripod has also been added to the Large category. This weapon - a Nikola Tesla invention - can fire sonic blasts at varying frequencies. At a low level it can induce vomiting and knock a man off his feet. At high frequency the blasts can knock down walls or liquify internal organs from 50 yards!

Next stretch goals

I'm still rather startled that I'm already having to prepare myself for the £20k stretch goal. It's cool that I am though, because this is the first one where I can start to add some cool free stuff to pledges and show you my thanks for the wonderful support I've received. The Big Smoke might be a smog-polluted, violent, dangerous place, but that hasn't done anything to scare the pigeons away!

These models will be added to your pledge at Battle and above. You'll have to wait a little bit longer to see them though.

And now's probably a good time to tease the £22.5k goal too...

This model was suggested a good while ago, on the Infamy Insider forum I do believe, and it's evolved from there. Lamplighter used to perform a vital duty around the city, keeping away the gloom by igniting gaslamps. The sudden technological changes have rather upset his employment prospects though.

Now, with Tesla lamps providing a very reliable glow to the majority of the city, he's found himself out of a job and more than a little angry. Rather than sit at home watching Jeremy Kyle, he's decided to embrace the new technology, and the fire that used to provide his livelihood, and turn them on... well, pretty much everyone!

Anything else?

Well, I'm doing my best to get on top of things here at Infamy HQ. It's been a wild few hours and I really could have done with the internet keeping up with the Kickstarter demand. But, hopefully this update is worth the wait. The connection seems to have stabalised, so, clear internet sailing ahead perhaps? Keep all your digits crossed!

I managed to fit in a bit of celebration with my girlfriend, who just got back from her own trip to the Big Smoke (although she assures me that my version is a lot more interesting than the real thing! :p). We ate a hearty meal - delicious rib-eye steak, fries and blue cheese sauce - which was the first proper food I've had for a couple of days. She even gave me some amazing congratulations presents in the form of London Underground stuff. The Underground map is, for me, the greatest bit of graphic design ever, so these are totally brilliant!

I'm feeling extremely lucky right now and, as she's also a backer, what better place to publicly embarrass her than on an update! Thanks very much Jemma - you are awesome!

And for now, I think that's all. I'd best get back to updating the main page with new stuff and try and respond to some more comments.

Cheers,
James

Update #4 Jul 11 2014

Pigeons and Lamplighter unlocked

Those stretch goals keep on getting broken. Thank you so much for your continued support guys and gals, it means a great deal and I'm rather amazed to have so many fine people backing this Kickstarter campaign.

You'll be pleased to hear that thanks to your backing I can add some cool new minis to the range. And mini is the right word! These pigeons are a nightmare to photograph but I'll get some decent shots taken today and post them up! For now, here's a slightly older photo of them in their work in progress stage, taken by the sculptor, Cedric Bataille. They are now completely finished!

Everyone at the Battle pledge level and above will get three randomly selected pigeons shipped out with their pledge.

Alrighty, I'm really pleased about this one. Lamplighter is yet another sculpt by Adrien Debos and he only got finished off the other day. I am so happy that I can show the full model though, as he's one of my absolute favourites so far. Everything about him, from the mechanisms and flame thrower contraptions, to the dynamic pose, and the awesome smoke, has me eager to get casts made so I can paint one myself!

He rocks in at the Large scale if you want to add him to your pledge.

On the Kicktraq top 10!

Infamy: Welcome to The Big Smoke has gone in at number four on the Kicktraq top ten! So, that means that we are all a part of the fourth hottest campaign on Kickstarter apparently. Woo! Now, if I can just come up with some sort of potato salad based stretch goal we can gun for the top spot!

If you check out Kicktraq you can see crazy graphs about the Infamy Kickstarter. It's worth noting that their trending to figure is never calculated quite right when it comes to the early part of campaigns. Don't expect a £300k Infamy: Welcome to The Big Smoke campaign with a billion stretch goals!

[/img]

The next stretch goal is is a rather special miniature and will be added to the Regular list if the campaign total gets past £25k. Jo March is a new Kingpin from the March family (I'll do a full update on the Marches some time in the future) and as you can see, she's a gun toting, aggressive lady.

But why so special? Well, Jo bears more than a passing resemblance to my girlfriend! Jemma has supported me through the run up to this campaign in so many amazing ways, it seems a very fitting tribute to get a miniature made of her.

So, that's why it's a special model for me, but, thankfully it's a pretty awesome looking mini even if Jemma isn't your girlfriend!

That's it for now guys, but there will be lots more to come soon I hope. Would love to hear what you think of the new models!

Cheers,
James
