Intro:
Well I first came to Dakka when i was a wee lad of 13. It was when I was first introduced to the hobby and since I had no money I couldn't buy my first box of miniatures for a while, so I used Dakka as a way to explore the hobby. I stayed here a couple of years, saw many cool models, met many cool people, but then I made quite a large move from Philadelphia Pennsylvania aaaaaall the way over the States into Los Angeles. That is the point where me and Dakka had a bit of a black out. It has been a while since I've been on here an on my 18th birthday recently I got a nice message from one of those old Dakka-ites I used to know,"Viktor von Domm" ( Who's fantastic thread I'm sure many of you have already seenhttp://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/342213.page ) Wishing me the best and asking just when and if I'd return. Well I said to myself " Heck, it has been quite a while, I have grown as a painter and modeler since I've last been here, so I might as well share it just incase there's that random 13 year old boy looking for inspiration. So here we are, my little WIP thread. There's going to be a lot of stuff on here in the future from 40k to fantasy, to space hulk, to the great fantasy flight RPG's, terrain, sculptures, drawings, paintings, what ever you all seem to enjoy I'll keep putting up here, what you all don't seem to enjoy, well those can just die off after one viewing.

NOW ON TO THE PICTURES!

Since this is my intro post I will post not only the things I'm working on now, but some things that have already been done just so you can see where my modeling has gone over the past year or so...


First up Is my current project and newest 40k army. STORM WARDENS! I play them as count as space wolves because I enjoy playing space wolves but wanted a "different" army. Plus who doesn't love Braveheart?
- The First photo was my test model. He is a count as Wulfen ( since Storm Wardens do not have that mutation ) I would say this guy is heavily inspired by the Foresworn from Skyrim, and the Lord of Bones from Game of Thrones
- Second Is the WIP of the first full armored Space Marine for the army
- Next is just a quick look at the first couple WIPs, the top 3 are my 3 sergeants, then we have 4 regular marines, and another count as wulfen

Next we have my current fantasy army that I recently started. The unofficial ( but fun ) codex by the Warhammer Armies Project ( http://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.com ) THE NORSE!
- First is some shots of my first couple Marauders (still WIP) I was worried I'd gone too far with the blood, but the Norse in Warhammer lore are pretty brutal so it's ok right? ( after I make the blood a little darker of course )
- Next is a couple WIP Bondsmen, so not as feral as the Marauders but just as Norse
- Then a couple quick shots of more WIP Marauders to come

Next is something a little different. My group of Warhammer buddies and I are constantly playing many RPG's, and at the moment we are playing through the great Warhammer 40k RPG Dark Heresy, and when I was designing the character I was going to play I decided to start on a little sculpture of him. It's still very WIP as it has only about an hour and a halfs worth of work done on it, but you get a rough idea of how he looks.

Next is some Terrain I'm working on, this specific building was sort of a challenge I set on myself... If I could create a usable building out of iPhone boxes, and well it turned out alright I think. Still have to base the guy but you get the idea.

Now the last couple photos are more of a showcase of things that are either on my desk, or already off my desk just so you can see the possibilities of this thread...
The Last 6 are the only ones I feel I need to explain out of this last group so here you go.
- First here is the squad I use whenever I play Space Hulk. They are my Chaos Squats! Because after their planet got eaten up by Tyranids, I feel only logically that a majority of the larger groups that survived must have survived because they had to part of the loyal squats and instead went to chaos. ( I even have a large pile of old GW Chaos Squats ready to be painted up )
- Then I have a couple loyalist squats, there is more but currently pictured is the old GW Squat biker, and a squat I converted myself as my character model for the 40k RPG Only War

For the random 40k model section...
- The first picture is a picture of the random stuff I did to my dark vengeance cultist, such versatile models
- Next Is a page of almost all imperials ( all except mr.syringe, he's just a strange character )
- More random models, from a gorka-morka ork turned human scavenger, to a 40k Issac
- And on the last one I only wanted to mention that the blue guy is supposed to be a Demiurg

Alright that is all for now, hopefully now that this intro post is done, next update will have a less words and better photos. Any comments or criticisms would be appreciated, if you guys like what I do I will happily post more. Thanks for your time reading this jumbled mess and I hope you enjoy!

it has been ages!

and you have been busy....I wish I could sculpt...at all...lest that good... that daxland character looks quite interesting... and the bust looks very good and totally a good transition from paper into 3D!!! more of that!

I think norse and kilted space wolved really makes sense...and I need to see to my own kilted chaps for my IG one of these days too...but I am tied up currently with my orky stuff....facepalm: doing tartan pattarns is really something that still frightens me^^

doing blue skinned orks is always a nice fresh take on the known theme...and a fitting arch enemy for your norse marines...

the terrain piece looks very good... I first mistook it as a lego conversion... then certain parts I could recall... not having an aple product yet in my hands...what do these packages look like?

that last wee scunner I want some more pics of... I want to do that conversion too...this could be a CC variant for my grots

Well on the terrain the fence like walls and the long bit with the latter on it all come from the old toys "Imaginex" the stairs I got from my brother who was into those little finger skate boards, and all the white bits are from 2 different Hirst Arts molds I own (and highly reccomend) I'll get you a picture of em so you can see

the hirst arts stuff is also highly on my to buy list for when I actually earn some money... which is due not earlier than a year from now......

and I couldn´t exactly use the right words but that as you put it loose finger skate boards was what I meant...

as for Imaginex... there is good looting and conversion potential on these things.... just had a look at google for some of this stuff...

Thanks I'm glad you like it. Since I work the whole weekend on Monday I'll be sitting down all day and trying to add a couple more marines to the roster, and haha the face painting aspect was one of the reasons I wanted to try out this scheme. I even went through Braveheart and other Highlander pictures to get a good selection of various face paint styles.

Yea I've used my Hirst Arts molds so very much, and I only own 2 at the moment, The accessories molds, which is basically barrels, crates, computers, chairs, doors, lights, ect ect. Yea I was suprised when I saw it, those Tech Deck finger skateboard stuff has a great scale for terrain, I got a couple other bits from him that I'll use in the future. Also the Imagionex stuff I have owned since I was a small child, so I have a large quantity of it, from buildings, to castles, to massive pirate ships, I'm going to have to see what else I can scavenge from it.

you still have it? I like it when peeps don´t throw away their kids toys when they are in mid grow up...it´s often the other way around...

and I think dave used these stairs ans slopes too for some of his terrain stuff too iirc...

Yea Vik I kept so much from my child hood, I just could't part with it. Also I found the stairs as part of a $20 set called "Tech Deck World Industries Skate Park" ( as pictured)

And now since I wont have a model update until tomorrow, here's something for you so you don't have to wait too long for an update ( I hope it's not a bad idea throwing such different stuff here ) but anyway here are some paintings I've done the past few months!

Ok so I managed to finish of that started marine (curse running out of paint mid model!) But I think he looks pretty good so take a look!

Edit: I forgot to mention the fact that the basing isn't finished, on either of them.

Now I need some opinions here. I'm going through all my unpainted strange 40k models and Photoshopping test schemes on them. But I don't know yet, so here is the first 3 and I want your honest opinions. Still not sure about the caution stripes though.

Hazard stripes are always good, if somewhat difficult to paint.
I like the look of the guy with the needle, ill look forward to seeing him painted.

Thank you very much Grag! I'm defiantly going to try out the caution stripes. And yea I agree the needly man has always quite interested me, very different from my other models. Speaking of other models here's a couple more I was test scheming...

Ok I had to restock on super glue and greenstuff but I am back with a new model, this is 1 out of my 3 Lone Wolf Wulfen terminators. sip of course, once it dries I'm going to tear apart that hammer to straighten it out, and also make the lightening claw look a little fancier.

Very interesting perspectives. And the terminator is interesting as well, did you intend to have his pole bent? I like the enthusiasm.

Ok so since I play count as space wolves, I wanted to get a small playable force so that the day my friend got his codex we could play a game, so over the course of 2 days I managed to get through a few guys. They're all still WIP obviously but you can get the basic idea of them. The ones with special weapons are what they have ( Plasmas, Flamers, ext ) the ones with the wolf helms where ( because they took them out of the codex ) the wolf standard, and the foresworn was ( the only complaint i have about the codex is they took out my favorite models! WULFEN! ) a wulfen. Everything else is just standard bolt gun, just cooler looking.

when you paint all these up you will get a bunch of the most brutal looking marines westside of dodge city....holy edge...

My favourite would have to be the Brettonian headed plasma gunner, he looks great . One thing you might find useful is using scissors to cut a sharper edge on the greenstuff cloaks thats what I often do.

(Even if you didn't know you where waiting for it) We've got it all today folks, models that are fully painted, being painted, built, and being built, we even have paintings and a video! It's fun for the whole family, I hope you all enjoy!
