Skink priest - lvl 1 dispel scroll,lore of heavens

Core

30 Saurus warriors - Musician, SB

3 groups of 10 skink skirmishes- can't decide on javs or blow darts.

Special

20 temple guard - musician, SB, banner of swiftness

Rare

2 salamander hunting packs

1 ancient stegadon- engine of the gods, Dev charge and impact hit upgrades.


I played this list vs dark elves and did very well. Not sure if I wana go javs or darts on the skinks.... Javs did ok but not awesome... The engine of the gods didn't perform well. What changes would you guys make?? I normally fight TK, Dark elves and demons.

Javs are more versatile and give skinks a 5+ with parry. Blowpipes are better at killing things build them as Java until you really have the hang of skinks the your ready for pipes.

I used to love engine in 7th now its a bit underwhelming. I'd drp it and devastating charge and add 4 temple guard

Don't. Stegs want to be in combat. Priests don't they have a 5+ 6++ base on an engine and it wastes points in the hero slot.

Skink Armed with a Blowpipe





Javalins are significantly better in the new codex. Your skirmishers so you can march and fire. also javs are quick to fire which do not suffer -1 for moving. so move your skinks up 12" and as long as your in short your hitting at no modifiers plus they have a 5+ save which isnt to bad for their points cost

A scarvet on a coldone with a gw and armour of destiny is cheaper and better than the stegadon. Use extra points to buff templeguard. Maybe add a razor standard. I would only take life for dwellers. Light would give better buffs for your combat blocks

Nocturne

Lore of beasts signature spell makes saurus +1 S/T, which makes them murder to most other in the game.

I would take more temple guard if possible.

If it was me, atleast one melee hero, Scar-veterans are beast for their point cost.

I had built my army to support my core, i.e. troglodon, solar engine bastilidons and the like.

Scarvets are used for different targets than stegs and so are not comparable.

Lore of beasts makes saurus and temple guard tear through enemies

Umm infantry monstrous infantry. Stegs win games cowboys delay.

I recently played a game vs dark elves, used a cowboy lord, and two stegadons... The stegs were awesome the cowboy not so much :( love the model but the carnosaur died way too fast... The old blood tho still kicked but on foot all alone lol
