So we're like, a mere month from GenCon now and that's gotten me to start thinking about what I want to purchase at GenCon 2014. My list, so far, seems relatively short:

1. Infinity Operation: Icestorm
2. Warhammer 40k Conquest (FFG)
3. King of New York (Iello)
4. Dark Age: Fanaticism

And so far, that's about it.

I realized when I was throwing it together that a lot of the stuff I'd USUALLY be primed to check out and buy I either already have or have coming, via Kickstarter.

So with that in mind, two questions:

1. What is on your GenCon 2014 Shopping List?
2. Is Kickstarter killing some of your pre-GenCon buzz?

Not Gencon as I'm in the wrong country, but our big annual one event is coming up (Claymore) in a few weeks.

All I have on the shopping list so far is a Bushido starter, any new Malifaux stuff that's made it over here so far, and some terrain mats, more scenery and a box of Fallschirmjager to chase my Home Guard about. I've already bought the Historicon mini (Dick Winters - the 'Easy Company' 101st Airborne Leuitennant).

I'll no doubt spend a small fortune on other stuff I didn't know I wanted, too.

Kickstarter is killing my buzz a bit this year, because there are a few about to end that I'm debating getting in on, but the money will come out of my Claymore budget (of which £75 is already gone).

I am intending to acquire

King of New York
some MDF Terrain
maybe some SDE stuff if they have new

I am going to be demoing a lot for Game Salute, so I am kinda Kickstarter/GenCon biased, lol

But to be honest, my goal this Gencon (my first) is to wander and see what strikes my fancy and my poor impulse control

Good call on the Beer Model. Forgot about that one! Add it to the list!

@Pork - What all will you guys be demoing? I'll have to sneak away from the booth I'll be at and check some stuff out.

My GenCon shopping list is pretty short:
--Beers with anyone from Dakka who wants to meet up over the weekend and hang out.

My partner and I decided to skip the Con this year so we can save up and move (to the Best Coast). We're only an hour south of the convention center, so I'll probably come up, hang out with nerds and people-watch.

I thought about bringing my guitar, dressing in football gear and singing songs about Blood Bowl...

Infinity stuff(Operation: Icestorm, Penny, and Cosplay Bolt plus whatever else I can afford)
Warhammer 40k stuff(if the budget allows)
ForgeWorld stuff(reboot of Anphelion Project, and tyranid stuff)
Bones models I want
Various Miniatures(Hoping Dark Sword will be there again)
40k Conquest
Weiss Schwarz Kill la Kill starters(if they bring them)
Maybe D&D fifth edition PHB
Outbreak: Deep Space
Hackmaster stuff
Shadows of Esteren(if anyone's selling it)
Various RPG stuff(pathfinder modules and such)
Terrain(depending on who brings what)
Whatever catches my eye- such as a new board game.

Black Bases and Grey Plastic Forever:My quaint little hobby blog.

40k- The Kumunga Swarm (more)
Count Mortimer’s Private Security Force/Excavation Team (building)
Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

Plus other games- miniature and cardboard both.

FW:
Any event exclusive minis, shirts, and coffee mugs I like. Also, maybe an IA book and some models for my 30k army.

Paizo:
Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: The new Pirate One
Maybe some of the character sets they have coming out.
A card storage box to mix and match all of this gak.

WotC:
Maybe D&D Next Stuff. Maybe.

FFG:
Some Arcam Horror stuff.
Browse their new games/expansions. Dunno.

Dice: Always need more dice!

I have signed up for a few board game demos, and if I like them, I'll buy. Also, anything that catches my eye in the dealer's room. Last years winners were Pathfinder Adventure Card Game (lurve it!) and Castle Panic.

However, now that I have a new FLGS that I want to support, I might just make a list of cool gak and wait until I get home to buy from them.

It was pretty much Infinity Operation: Icestorm. And then I saw your #2 which I hadn't heard of until now... so now I have to get that.

You got my hopes up that you'd changed your mind about going, then you go and smash them hard.

Also, wasn't aware of the Infinity exclusive. I don't even play Neoterra and I want it.

I picked the wrong year to NOT make my first Gencon trip!

So many Dakkanauts are going, and they're releasing a new edition of D&D - pretty much the whole reason Gencon exists in the first place!

I'm going to Gencon 2015 though, if anyone cares...

What day(s) are people going to GenCon? I just moved up to Indianapolis a couple of weeks ago so I figure this is a great opportunity to go to the event, even if I just end up walking around and seeing booths.

I will be there the whole weekend, starting Wednesday to hang out with my buddies from Houston.

The dealers room alone is worth the trip, maynard! Even if you just go for 1 day.

You've missed the deadline for having your badge shipped to you. I recall their lines for pick up were rather long. I would go very early to get your badge so you don't miss out.

I can't make it to GenCon this year :( I really wanted to go but cash is just too tight. I'm saving up to hopefully have a booth going for my games and stuff next year.

I propose we do the first official "GenDakkaCon2015" extravaganza where everyone from Dakka meets in one of the halls or something for open gaming saturday night.

I'll be there Wednesday through Sunday. Pretty sure you can pick up your badge Wednesday, but I imagine you'll still have a long wait. I have a buddy tagging along who intends to spend all four days in the dealer hall doing demos and such.

Wyrd's got their new RPG: Through the Breach, their new expansion book for Malifaux: Crossroads, and supposedly a bunch of new minis and con exclusives.

Wizkids always has their con exclusives.

New D&D this year too.

Icestorm also seems to be a good way to get into Infinity

Man I'm not going this year, but if I was those would be my first stops. 2015 I'm going though for sure.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!
