I've been playing around with some spammy lists but I thought I'd sit down and Striking Scorpion 82 style forge a list.

9 Thousand Sons- Rhino w/ Combi-Melta (Ahriman)

20 Cultists- 17 Autoguns, 2 Heavy Stubbers, Shotgun

Mayhem Pack Formation:

Heldrake is for dedicated anti-air because I'm not ignoring air, I'm not taking an Aegis Defense Line with the cannon, and I'm not taking flakk Missile Launchers. DaemonForge should take out most flyers cause they only have AV10/11/12
Predator is for dedicated anti-Tank and is supported by the helbrutes and rhinos combi-meltas
Mayhem Pack is my death star that will take on MCs Armor and TeQs. I feel str 8 is just as good as str 10 in most situations, so the WS reduction of the power scourges is great because it turns to hit rolls in my favor often.
The two Thousand Rhinos will kill troops and MeQs
The Cultists provide mass fire to take down FMCs and lots of models

Cultists are infiltrate targets. I'll move em up 6" and either run or shoot, as long as I'm in 5+ or 4+ cover and really close to my enemy. Whole Idea is to give them all these easy close range targets to blast into so they don't shoot my Oblits or Rubics until my heavy support comes in.
I'm really excited to see my Thunder hammer Power Scourge guy duel a MC or FMC. With the nerf to smash he could really kick some nidzilla butt.
Also a power scourge reduces someone with WS 4 to hitting him on 5+ with a roll of a 2 or 3 on the D3 for WS reduction from flail. Chainfist? ChainMISS! Hahaha

I'm starting to think I should roll once on telepathy and swap for shriek in most cases and then proceed to biomancy. If I'm not in CC I really want to be shrieking so why not take CC powers amirite

This, the 5man hellbrute unite which is the deathstar is the murderpack... or something like that, where one hellbrute is a character. Regarding the power scourge remember it only affects models in base contact so if you charge any unit the chances are that they won't come into effect until the next fight sub-phase where more models need to try to get into b2b

Also, it reduces 1D3 if im not mistaken, which will help only in 3's to avoid getting hit on 4's but against a Tyrant or a DP assuming you roll a 5-6 they come down to WS6, still hitting you on 3's you would however hit him on 4's instead of 5's so that's good i guess. I don't have the tyranid new rulebook so I'm not sure if they are still WS8, if they are then the scourge is usless. It works against other walkers and some MC thou
