'Build me an army worth of Mayhem!'

Bombshell Games has harnessed the power of BattleScribe to make building your armies, strongholds, and keeps easier than it's ever been before. 'What is this BattleScribe you speak of?' you ask.

BattleScribe is a fast and powerful army list creator for tabletop wargamers. It allows you to quickly and easily create army lists while validating your points limits and army selections so you can see if you’ve made any mistakes, and the easy-to-read output will summarize your units’ profiles and special rules for quick reference. You can download it for free from BattleScribe.net. That's right- it's free!

Once you have BattleScribe, head over to Wargame Vault and download the Armies of Mayhem file pack. Inside, you'll find the BATTLE CHEST. This is one large list that contains profiles for various fantasy units, creatures, and races that can be built using the rules found in the Battle Chest Edition of Mayhem. These units follow all the unit construction rules found in the book. There are over 100 unique profiles that include: Dark Elves, Dwarves, Goblins, High Elves, Human Empire, Lizardmen, Monstrous Creatures, Orcs, Pirates, Keeps, Siege Engines, Strongholds, Undead, and Woodland Elves.

As if that wasn't enough, the download also contains the ARMIES OF MAYHEM. This collection features armies that are inspired by various miniature lines, fiction, legends, and folklore. These lists play with the game balance a bit, feature units that break the creation rules found in the book, and include army specific rules and bonuses.

Armies of Mayhem is being made available as 'Pay what you want'. Enjoy!

Hello Brent. I should probably get round to downloading to look at that High Elf list.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

You should! Looking forward to hearing what you think, and I'm already taking requests for the next update.

Firstly, all your links are broken.

Second, I have no idea what you're even pushing here. Is this some roundabout way of saying you have data files for Warhammer Fantasy armies in a ridiculous attempt to circumvent GW's IP rules? Or is Armies of Mayhem some other fantasy game I've never heard of? Or what?

Posters on ignore list: 36

40k Potica Edition - 40k patch with reactions, suppression and all that good stuff. Feedback thread here.

Gangs of Nu Ork - Necromunda / Gorkamorka expansion supporting all faction. Feedback thread here

Sorry about that! They should be working now.

Mayhem is a fantasy mass battle game that allows you to create your own custom built units, armies, keeps, and strongholds from scratch. The data files above were created to do most of the heavy lifting for players so that they could quickly and easily experiment with different builds. The game is designed to playable at any scale and with any miniatures. So, players can [and do!] use their Warmaster and Warhammer fantasy armies to play the game, but you'll also see players using miniatures from supporting partner companies like Demonworld, Eureka, Microworld, Pendraken, and Rebel Minis.

If you're interested, here are some battle reports [in no particular order]:
Battle for Harrison's Ford
Thursday Night Mayhem - The Baron's Blog
Mayhem 2.0 - The Baron's Blog
Drums in the Deep - various MAYHEM posts
Ten and Fifteen Mil - battle begins
Ten and Fifteen Mil - battle continues
Ten and Fifteen Mil - denouement
Tactical Command - several reports within the thread

Mayhem is the biggest reason I still have Warhammer minis. Of a few fantasy battle games I've looked at lately, it looks like it owes the least to Games Workshop and Warhammer. It has refreshingly unique and immediately deep-seeming tactical mechanics rather than - as some of us disgruntled ex-GW fans might say - a focus on strategic listbuilding and big, flashy, lethal models with big, flashy, lethal price tags.
I have a wee blushing smiley in my last post 'cos in the past I've talked about using the game's in-built unit creation rules to adapt Warhammer high elf and skaven lists for Mayhem, and still haven't got off my backside to sort out the former. My first draft of a skaven list can still be seen here, at the Lead Adventure Forum. After reading a few other unit creation experiences, and the new rules in the bundled Stronghold expansion, I should get round rewriting it sometime.

Unless Brent wants to take 'ratmen' as one of those requests for the next lot.

I think you may be in luck as barbarians, beastmen, demons, and ratmen all seem to be very popular requests!
