Looking to get into Fantasy (now that I have some cash) and was wondering how well this list would do. This is just with a basic knowledge of Fantasy; any tips would be appreciated.
LORDS:
Battle Wizard Lord - Level 4, Dispell Scroll, Lore of Life
General of the Empire - Runefang, FPA, Barded Warhorse, Shield, Potion of Speed
HEROES:
Captain of the Empire - BSB, Armour of Meteoric Iron, Great Weapon
Master Engineer
Warrior Priest - Heavy Armour, Barded Warhorse, Enchanted Shield, Hand Weapon, Ironcurse Icon
CORE:
Knightly Orders of the Inner Circle - 10 Knights, Full Command, Lances + Shields, Steel Standard
SPECIAL:
Demigryph Knights - 3 Demigryphs, Musician
Great Cannon
Great Cannon
RARE:
Helblaster Volleygun
Total: 1998pts
This is just a rough draft, and any input would be greatly appreciated.
If I expand it to 2500, would a Steam Tank, Luminark, and some Pistoliers be good additions? Thanks in advance!

If you want to use a character with a runefang, I would recommend the grandmaster. He has a better statline for it, and also grants your knights immune to psych. Also, potion of foolhardiness is only 5 points and it gives you an extra runefang attack. Then you can throw on a luckstone, seed of rebirth, or what have you.
The list looks solid, though. You don't have any bad options or units that disagree with general internet consensus so I'm not surprised people haven't been commenting. My recommendation is just play the list and see how it works for you!
I field a very similar army to this frequently. You may find that the knight bus hits great but lacks power to get through really tough units. My friend plays ogre bullstars and gutstars and I've found my only hope in breaking these units is using death or shadow magic.
Barring stupid deathstars, though, I can see this list doing very well against pretty much anything if you know what you're doing.
The steam tank makes an awesome additional to any list. I'll even whip it out at 1k points. It's just a lot of fun with a lot of utility. Pistoliers are great too, for harassing units with shooting, hunting warmachines, and even getting rear charges off. Just be careful of magic and shooting, it'll take them right off and they're rather expensive for how fragile they are. Personally I hate the light and heavens wagons, for looks mostly, but I know a lot of good generals make excellent use of the hurricanum so I wouldn't say either one is a bad choice.

Looked a few things over, and realized:
1: My Knights could afford to drop 2 guys, since the Cavalry width requirement is 5. Since the Warrior Priest and (now) Grand Master are joining them, that allows them to have two ranks.
2: Seeing as i suddenly have 50pts to spare, I upgraded the General to a Grand Master. I'll still use the same model, but you are right, he does have a much better statline suited for runefanging people. And he still gives my army LD9, like a baws.
3: Is +1 Attack worth it over +3 I? in potion form? I'll throw on a Seed of Rebirth to give the Grand Master a regen save, and then give the Warrior Priest a shrieking blade to cause fear tests?
My current thought process for my 2500pt list is:
Spoiler:
LORDS:
Battle Wizard Lord - Level 4, Dispell Scroll, Lore of Life
Grand Master - Shield, Runefang
HEROES:
Captain of the Empire - BSB, Armour of Meteoric Iron, Great Weapon
Master Engineer
Warrior Priest - Heavy Armour, Great Weapon
Warrior Priest - Heavy Armour, Barded Warhorse, Enchanted Shield, Hand Weapon, Ironcurse Icon
Knightly Orders of the Inner Circle - 8 Knights, Full Command, Lances + Shields, Steel Standard
SPECIAL:
Demigryph Knights - 3 Demigryphs, Musician
Great Cannon
Great Cannon
RARE:
Helblaster Volleygun
Total: 1996pts

I like the list but i have never been a big fan of the Celestial Hurricanum especially as you have hatred in most units and half your army is fast so it will only benefit the block of halberdiers.
Only thing i would do is swap that out for another 3 demigryphs. and maybe just a luckstone on the grandmaster for 5pts it might save his life.
To drop the Hurricanum for Demigryphs, I'd have to find another 40pts, since a unit of Demigryphs baseline are 174. 184 with the Musician.
If I dropped the Warrior Priest from the Halberds, that'd give me the points plus some, but then I'd lose hatred and a channel for dispell dice.

This. It reminds me of Beastmen lists, where you see in 2500 games the lords&heroes adding up to half of that.
The heroes on this list are OK, but maybe dropping a lord would be wiser...

What lord would you suggest dropping, and what lord would you put in its place? The wizard seems necessary, while the grand master provides a lot of punch to the knights.
