Not sure if this goes here or in the modeling section, but anywho.

I ordered the minotarus space marine bundle from forgeworld and in it came some etched brass. I've never used it before and I was wondering if you glue the brass on a model before you prime it, or afterwards, or is it something your not supposed to paint. Also what function does etched brass serve?

Thanks

In before thread lock.

They are basically decals, you should glue them on before priming in my experience.

Sometimes it can be a little awkward getting them to sit in the right place so I would try and pre bend before gluing if you were going to attach one to a shoulder pad or other curved surface.

They're just bits for added detail and iconography. Glue them on when you're assembling the model.

As above. Glue them on, base and paint. They are very very good to use for extra detail

I glued it on before priming. The Black Templar cross in the center of my Contemptor Dreadnought's chest, for example. I did end up painting it an "antique gold" color that looks similar to the original brass, but it was primed. As for what function, it's just more bling to add to models. Like your Rhino's front hull, or a dreadnought's arm, or a command squad's banner, or a terminator shoulderpad or anything else you can think of.
