So friendly tournament list incoming. I don't want to to be fully WAAC but as long as it competative then it would be good so any advice welcome! This list was made quickly so I expect a fair number of changes to be made.

Lord:

Prince: - Dragon Armour, Sword of bloodshed, Dragonhelm, Enchanted Shield, Opal Amulet - 260 (I think this guy needs proper work to him)

Noble: - Battle Standard Bearer, Dragon Armour, Shield of the Meryrm, Sword of Might - 140

Mage: - Level 2, Dispel Scroll - 140

Seaguard: - 40, Full Command, Shields, Standard of Discipline - 525

Dragon Princes: - 5, Full Command - 175

Swordmasters: - 15, Full command - 225

Swordmasters: - 15, Full command - 225

Great Eagle: - Swiftsense - 60

1750 in total.

I you want to go with Swordmasters I'd go with 28 arranged 7x4 with the BotWD. For the prince I would switch him for a archmage with life magic to help the Swordmasters but if you want to tool up a prince High elves need strength more than attacks so either the ogre or the giant blade and some kind of ward save.

I don't play high elves so take my input wth a grain of salt, as my advice is based off of playing against them (they're a solid army). At a game this size, I would definitely recommend a level 4 over a prince, I really don't think princes are very good, you're paying 70 points for an extra ws, attack, wound, and leadership over a noble, and the points are coming from your lord slot. Grab a noble, and put him in a unit with the standard of discipline, and you've got the same ld 10 general, while being able to get a level 4 mage, which are very strong at that points level.

Since you're not playing WAAC, it's hard to offer critique. However, I would probably just take the naked spearmen over seaguard, they seem more cost-efficient. 40 is also a huge number. I usually don't see that many put into a single unit, but maybe it would work, I don't know.....they're just so low strength, though, so if you put something cheap with toughness 5 or higher and/or a decent armour save against them (like a nurgle chaos chariot), that's 500 points locked up all, or at least most of, the game without accomplishing much.

Dragon princes are good, but I'd rather just take a unit of silver helms for core points and spend special points on something else (e.g. change seaguard to smaller unit of spearmen + maybe some archers, dragon princes to silver helms for your core). Namely, white lions and phoenix guard. Both of those units rock. They are hands down the units I worry the most about when playing against high elves. I don't really care about spearmen, swordmasters, or silver helms/dragon princes, I'll just throw something with high strength/toughness at them that has a decent shot at not breaking, and then they're basically locked into place for most of the game. Swordmasters are also really fragile compared to phoenix guard, which have the same strength but still have ASF and a 4+ ward. Phoenix guard are really, really scary. Stubborn white lions are also a huge pain, at strength 6 they wreck high toughness/high armour targets, they trade well points-efficiency wise with most units in the game, and if you give them the BotWD they are really, really frustratingly hard to kill, and since they're stubborn they're probably not going to break, either. In fact I usually just try to chaff them up all game, I have no real good solutions for dealing with them other than that.

Swordmasters are still good though, I just think phoenix guard and white lions are a helluva lot better.

Oh yeah, and if you can squeeze in some repeater bolt throwers do so, those things are also fantastic.

Great eagles are awesome, as well. Super annoying. Frost phoenixes are also super annoying to deal with, but they're pretty expensive points-wise for this size of a game.

Now I know about bolt throwers but I just cant afford the models atm sadly. This is using mostly what I have. I don't have any PG, so can't use the, I do have a chariot though but I don't see that fitting in well also.

Not sure about the 2 mages, looks like it migth be a fight for power dice. Any feedback is welcome though.

This list does look better. For your wizard, I think that two is okay. Lore wise, shadow and life are both great lores and I think that it comes down to how much you want to focus on your white lions, if you want them to be really powerfull, take life and buff them. If you want to balance out your army more, shadow can improve archers and spearmen while still helping out the white lions. For the level two, I'd go with high, beasts, of heavens because they all have useful signature spells and lower casting values.

So appears I don't have 2 Eagles as I thought (Ill probably just pick one up soon though)

Out of curiosity how would dropping 1 of the eagles and buffing up the Dragon Princes by 2 more bodies sound? I know it would cut the unit down by 1 but it would make them stay around (hopefully) longer.
