So I've discovered that I will be able to play in a 1650 Midwar tourny here at the end of the month and I'm wanting to use it as the impetous to get the finishing touches on my Finns. Only I haven't played "tourny" in a damn long time and Mid war tourny even longer than that. I'm not looking to wipe the table with people, but i want to be able to bring a game and have a decent showing.

Using the Mid War Jaakari briefing

That gives me an odd number of deployments, which isn't great, and some are pretty darn small, but that is standard for Finns. I've also got 85 points left to fiddle with...that could make one of my infantry units recce, or pick up a couple HQ slot Close defense teams to bulk out the infantry. ( which would end up with a 10 base FV recce unit). The army is FV all around, and there is everything...recce, armor, infantry, AA, smoke and a semi decent 3/3+ bombardment template.

55 points left over, probably go to a couple close defense squads and transports for the AA guns. The artilery is a marked drop off, but the K/02s scream "Finn" to me.

Given the time till the end of the month and the fact that I don't know of a local shop that might stock Finns, I don't forsee the ability to change alot of the models available to me. I do have a Fokker CX, but at only Sporadic, I'm not sure on the utility of it.

Thoughts? I'm also toying with dumping the observer in the small mortar unit in the first list and picking up the aircraft, and some 3-ton transports for the AA. Drop the observer, use the 95 points to make one of the Jaakari squads recce, and add a close defence rifle to the HQ to bolster that new recce squad?

Good to know. Unfortuneately I won't be able to get the AT rifles in time. I also have to serously ponder why they don't actually make a blister for them. The only way to get them is in the $12.50 special order item. That puts the unit at $50, and my wallet has a serious time questioning the worth of that purchase.
