Hey, so I started 40k with nids and have a nice size army but wanted to try another so I started building a chaos army which has grown very large. Then a friend gave me some nib orks and they were just plane fun to build so now I have a small to medium waaaaggghhh! Anyone else as fiscally irresponsible as I when it comes to there miniatures? Haha

I have a moderate force of ultrasmurfs thanks to getting the old paint starter set. I then got into Tzeentchian CSM, and have a 1000 pt Scions force in the works. I can't exactly field the last two yet...

- 40 Scarab bases
- 10 Destroyers
- 6 Heavy Destroyers
- 1 Monolith

/e: 5461 points if maxing out on options. Haha, "options".

Right on, so were those Necrons fairly inexpensive to build a fieldable army considering their point cost?

BladeSwinga- Have you done any conversions or 3rd party ad ins to your Tzeentchian army yet? I have about 50 something 1,000 sons with a couple nice conversions and thinking of getting kromlech heads for the 27 models without them haha

Yeah. Necron Warriors are the only Troops choice in 4th and one of them already costs 18 points (+2 pts for melee Gauss). An Immortal is 28 points. I recently sold two GA and 2 AB and then stocked up on Necrons. Not having any C'tan because I don't think that a tabletop miniature can adequately represent their power and I don't like my army breaking fluff. Currently considering to buy a second Monolith - they are dirt cheap because nobody in 6th or 7th uses them.

We're going to have an all-out Silver Tide match this weekend - me and another Necron player vs. Blood Angels and Space Marines. 2500 points per player. Bring it on!

I have one one-handing a bolter in the air while holding an ork skull, an another with an icon with another single handed bolter, but that's it, don't have a whole lot of it done. No third party bitz, either. I do have a unique colour scheme of red lower limbs/helmets/backpack "wings", black upper limbs/torso, copper trim, and retaining blue on the shoulder pads and blue and yellow crests on the helmets.

Dude that sounds like an awesome paint scheme, if you are still building and looking to add a bit of uniqueness then I highly recommend Kromlech's stygian pieces, they have doors for tanks, heads, shoulders, weapons etc. I don't usually like 3rd party stuff but kromlech comes out with some pretty awesome pieces.

I originally played back in the 90's and got back in about four years ago.

My old Blood Angels force is now about 15-20,000 pts ;-)

I picked up a small daemon force that has grown to about 8,000pts. I then got a "small allied detachment" for it of CSM which is now about 3,000pts.

My friend lent me his Ork codex, a few day later I'd found a large collection of them on ebay which I've now filled up to about 6,000pts.

My single squad of old Grey Knight terminators has expended to be about 4,000pts including inquisition.

As I had Chimera's for my inquisition I decided a few Imperial Guard were needed for another "small allied detachment", now stands at around 3,000pts I think.

I fully blame ebay for my addiction, so many great deals on larger collections of models its hard to resist another army.

As I have limited space I've ruled out any more new armies... so will just expend the others :-D

Monoliths took a giant nerf from 3rd/4th/5th to 6th/7th and Necrons got new toys that are better than them; that's why they are unpopular and pretty cheap. Just for measure: a pre-owned Monolith currently ticks in at about 20-25€. Not posting the images on Dakka, sorry.

O_O 20,000 pts where do you keep all of this?! Hahahaha I'm right there with ya brother, I got back into 40k this year and now I might as well have a direct deposit on my pay checks to ebay! If it exists I'm signing us up to ebay buyers addiction anonymous.

So which army is the most fun for you to field/build?

Well, in RTTs I usually play Necrons, and Necrons or GK in apoc battles (5000 pts). I found Eldar was too powerful in the 6th (and still in 7th) and therefore its still shelved.
The Stompa is a remnant from my Ork army. I can still play a small detachment with Big Mek and a large Ork mob. There are also 5 Deffkoptas left (unpainted). Their value at ebay is too low to sell them there.

In terms of the CSM army, I have about 36 Marines (incl. special weapons), 6 Obliterators, 10 to 15 Termies, 3 Rhinos, 1 Landraider, winged DP, and the models from the starter box.

Current estimation put it all at over 50,000+ points. The picture is missing my custom Knight titan, at least 4 newer armored vehciles (Trojan, manticore, LR Annihilator, LR Exterminator) and 5 new Scions.

The "Space Marines" are the ones clad in blue exo-suits that resemble MAXES from Planetside 2 or the powerlifter from alien. front in the middle of the troops.

Im not sure when ill continue with the "Space Marines" they could use some armor and more troops. just 2 Tac squads (20 total) 6 Termi's and a Landraider who I've been thinking of redoing.

First army is Tyranids. I originally wanted to main them, but they've been shelved for a while, don't know why really because they're still playable with what I got.
HQ: Hive Tyrant x3 (2nd Edition, 3rd Edition and Flyrant), 3x Tyrant Guard
Elites: 1x Zoanthrope, 1x Hive Guard
Troops: 3x Warrior, 22x Termagant, 60x Hormagaunt, 6x Ripper Swarms, 19x Genestealers (of which 11 3rd edition), 1x Broodlord
Fast attack: 10x Gargoyles, 9x Raveners, 8x Spore Mines, 3x Skyslasher
Heavy Support: 1x Mawloc, 1x Trygon, 1x Tyrannofex, 2x Carnifex

Second army is White Scars, I built this because I was tired of getting shot to pieces by marines and wanted some marine on marine action.
HQ: Captain on Bike, Librarian on Bike
Troops: 3x Bike Squad with various weapons
Fast Attack: 4x Attack Bike, 2x Land Speeder
And an Imperial Knight to accompany them.

Third army is Necrons, because I wanted something I could swarm but still hold out midfield.
HQ: Nemessor Zahndrek, Vargard Obyron, Trazyn the Infinite, Overlord, 3x Lords
Troops: 40x Warriors, 5x Immortals
Fast Attack: 10x Scarab Swarms, 2x Heavy Destroyer, 5x Destroyer, 1x Wraith (the old version)
Heavy Support: Annihilation Barge, Monolith

Fourth army is Dark Angels, just the stuff from the Dark Vengeance box along with some marines from the Battle for Macragge box.

Fifth army is Crimson Slaughter, current main army and for what I'm building stuff.
HQ: Kranon the Relentless, Sorcerer
Elites: Draznicht x2 (different weapon load outs), 11x various Chosen
Troops: 40x Cultists, 20x Possessed
Heavy: Helbrute

I also have Huron Blackheart and Lucius the Eternal.

Sixth army is my Prodigal Sons squad I built specifically for unbound. It's Ahriman with 7x Sorcerer for 1000 point games. Since they look like Thousand Sons I can field them as that as well with the above.

Overall, I'm a huge army hopper. Sometimes I wish I just stuck with one army, then I'd probably have about 8000 points of Tyranids and could really play them.

Oh boy, I'm so freaking irresponsible with my hobby spending...

For 40k alone I have:

-Several different Dark Angels armies (which, eventually, I like to think will expand and form an entire chapter!)
-2500pts of Dark eldar
-1000pts or so of Space Marines (Iron Ravens)
-Almost 1750pts of an Eldar Wraith-themed army, plus some uncounted models from the 4th edition battleforce.
-2000pts of Imperial Guard
-1000pts of Orks

Then there's my Fantasy armies...

-2500pts of Empire
-2500pts of Vampire Counts
-2500pts of High Elves
-2500pts of Lizardmen

And Flames of War...

-1500pts Japanese Hohei Chutai (Infantry Company)
-1500pts Late War Gepanzerte Panzergrenadiers from Grey Wolf
-1500pts Sicherungs Company
-1500pts 101st Airborne Company
-1500pts T&T British Rifle Company (from Turning Tide)
-The British tanks from the starter box...can't remember how many points this is right now. Sometimes used as support for the T&Ts

And let's not forget Hordes:
-30pts or so of Circle
-The Everblight guys from the starter, plus a ravagor

...I have a problem
