I decided to start an Everblight army and I'm going for a heavy warbeast themed list and I would like some imput.

So far I've gotten: 6 shredders, an afflictor, a carnivean, a ravagore, a naga nightlurker, 2 stingers, 1 blighted ogrun warspears unit, Lylyth Herald of Everblight, and Vayl Consul of Everblight. Any recs on what I should get next for them?

I would take a look at the shepherd and the Forsaken. Honestly probably get two of both. The shepherd is there purely as beast support, she can heal the beasts, help your warlock out by forcing beasts in her command and also she can use her action to take fury away so that you can get more done out of your beasts every turn without risking your beasts frenzing. The Forsaken can also pull fury off the beasts but also can keep the fury herself and use it boost attacks/damage and also use her blight shroud ability.

Also the succubus is good for warlock support and she can also use an animus off of your beasts every turn and upkeeps one of spells for you.

Also for the lessers you may want to honestly take a look at the spawning vessel, while it is not a beast it does spawn lessers during the game. You have to kill living stuff first but if push comes to shove you can also have the grunts in the unit kill each other for corpse tokens to spawn lessers.

As far as heavy beasts go all the ones in the multipart kit for ravagores/scytheans/carniveans are really good. A lot of people try to magniztize that kit, so they can switch between them. I would also suggest the angelius.

If you are bran new to the game I have been told that Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight (or pThags) is a really good place to start legion. He is more forgiving than some other warlocks, you can move past him once you get the hang of the game to play lylyth or vayl if you want.

The only things I would suggest as must haves would be the two shepherds and the two forsaken.

Edit: Oh and get the UA for the warspearunit he is just too good not to take with them.

I always find it hard to suggest good things to get for Legion because the faction has a lot of good choices, and a lot of them gel very well together. So it makes it hard to just say a few options and not "everything"

That said a few thoughts;

1) I echo BloodHawks point on Forsaken and Shepherds. For beast heavy (which legion does very well) you really want these solos for support.
The Shepherd is an ideal rear-line support. Designed to follow after your beasts, healing and leaching fury off them. It should be noted that of the two she can leach the most fury off as she's no limit - interestingly she can also give fury to a warbeast (your own of course). Combine that with her healing ability (its fury or healing she can't do both) and she can be a good support choice. Ideal for supporting things like ravagores as they might hold back from the warlock and lob out fire.

Where the shepherd is support the forsaken is offence. Turning the fury she takes (limited to 5 fury) into offence for boosting her own attacks or using her blight ability - a nasty attack that increases the number of attack dice for each fury/focus upon each target (ideal for charging in and leaping to strike a warlock or warbeast (Warmachine locks like to store focus whilst warbeasts build up fury after a turn of action and attacks).

Both are solid options and in a beast heavy force let you do a lot more without the fury being a problem.

2) Beast Mistress - she's newer, but if you've a good few lessers you might want to play around with her. She deploys with her own battlegroup, but can only have lesser warbeasts within the group. Gaining boosts for attacking whilst supported by her lesser warbeasts as well as limited warlock abilities makes her a neat choice for a beast focused army.

3) The Spawning Vessel is a neat infantry choice to put down. You can spawn lesser warbeasts from the corpses of fallen infantry (both yours and your opponents). A favoured choice is to spawn a Harrier from the pot (its common short hand name) and then make use of its flight and animus (basically first hit auto hits) to use it as an assassin on a specific target - to kill or weaken.

I would recommend getting some infantry of your own though to support the pot - that way if your opponent tries to avoid it with their own infantry models or goes very shooty and is taking down yours you've got ready corpses mounting up to make use of from early on in the game; rather than having to risk slogging over the board to just get in range. My personal choice is legionnaires, great models and a good tarpit to help create a block on the battlefield for a few turns (and generate corpses).

Note also that PP has a special Vessel model coming up for Gencon - each year PP make a "pin-up" exclusive model that is sold during major conventions only (sold at the con and through their online store only). They do sell previous years model each time, but its only during conventions that they are up for sale and this year its a Blighted Bather!

Might cost more but if it takes your fancy its a neat little exclusive you can pick up from the 14-17th of this month.

4) After that the choice is yours. I'd say that Angelius are very good choices to get for another heavy warbeast option. Reak are also great fun to have on the table with their leaping ability.

Alright.. I ordered a Forsaken and a Shepherd. And I'll pick up a new Vessel when they go on sale during Gen Con.

If I were to get another ravagores/scytheans/carniveans kit.. Which do you think I should make? Or should I try Proteus? Don't want to bother magnetizing it.

I would say go scythean. If you don't want to use magnets then I would focus on aiming for 2 scythean and 2 ravagore. They are both very popular and very solid choices, the scythean gives you a fast deadly close combat monster, whilst the ravagore gives you a powerful ranged beast.

Which you go for first depends on if you want to go shooty focus or close combat focus.

The Proteusis often ranked low, its not outright bad, but its not as strong as some other options. It has its niche but its not as good a generalist.

In legion 2 is the magic number; generally speaking any warbeast you take will either be single or double. Triple is done, but its rare and typically you know you're "theming" your force or outright playing a theme army when you do it (you typically want more options and another animus rather than triple up on a warbeast).

Lessers are an exception, partly, esp as things like the pot allow you to put a few more on the table.

What the above poster failed to mention is that you'll need to buy the normal pot as well to actually get the crew for it.

Also, why has no one mentioned the Angelius?
There's a "Holy Trinity" of Legion beasts, the Ravagore, Scythean and Angelius.

The Ravagore is a great ranged heavy.
The Scythean is a great infantry shredder.
The Angelius is a great armor cracker.

Raeks are also good, especially in pairs.
