Here's another list I've been tinkering with. Let me know what you guys think. Each unit of Warriors will go with their gods corresponding Lord/Hero.

Valkia can't join units, she's a has the fly special rule so she is burdened to run solo... Plus out of all the special characters she's the worst aha! You can build a killy khorne lord for less points though

Festus however is a bauss!! Always run him when you can, 13 is a bit of an odd sized unit, 18 including hero is the staple (6x3)

Vaguard imo is a waste of points and rarely gains anything

Skullcrushers are perfect, although I'd use a different banner

I love the hellcannon but it's fickle, it will let you down now and again, brace yourself for it

Ideally at this points you could do with a lvl 4 and chaos magic is too good to only have a lvl 2

Ok. After a couple of tweeks, here's what I came up with. I got rid of the cannon and Val and beefed things up a little.

Now that is a scary list....

I would Swap the Armour of Fortune for the Talisman of Endurance. Not only is his armour save then a 1+ (as Heavy Armour, Barded Steed and a Shield is only a 2+) but it is also cheaper.

Plus it gives you ten points to play with, not that I know where you could stick them.....

I took your advice welshoppo. With those 10 points, I was able to give each group of hounds Scaly Skin. Not a big thing I know, but it may make them more survivable...and the points were going to waste anyway lol. Should I do the scaly skin, or make their attacks poisonous?

Both upgrades are pretty pointless. 6+ won't save them against arrow fire, and with one attack each poisonous won't really help them either. Maybe you could upgrade a banner?

It's the other way round. Characters can't join flying units. Flying characters can join units. Page 97. You can't join units of flyers. A flyer can join a normal unit though.

Put a champion in the Nurgle block for those 10 points instead. That'll give you more options when it comes to challenges with Festus.

Do his potions do D3 wounds? If so, that could alter my answer to this.

Yeah, D3 wounds with no armor saves. It's Str + d6 vs same, and I think he's S4. He can also drink it himself to heal 1 W.

Heh. I'd stick him in challenges then. Shouting "Take your medicine!" or "Eat your vegetables!" may increase your chances of being successful.

It's still nice to have the option to throw a Warrior champion at someone. Really depends on who they'd be up against.

I prefer the vegetable thing, because, if you turn the potion bottles on his waist around, they kind of look like brocolli.

Plus with RAW and lack of answer in FAQ, he can do d3 wounds to any model in base contact, I've forced glug-glug down a bastiladons neck before now, now THAT I would love to see acted out

Looks like I've finally settled on an army then. Time to start collecting models. I guess I'll start with my two main cores and go from there.

I love that Festus is a Lvl 2 Nurgle wizard. He's worth every single point.

Let us know how the hellfire sword works, realistically I can think of better weapons to equip him with

I like it very simple and just very deadly

What weapons come to mind? 65 points is a lot for a sword. I'm sure there are better, and less expensive, weapons I could get...a couple other items as we'll probably for that price.

Sword of Strife and helm of many eyes means he has 8 attacks with a reroll against 90% of people, or you can have 6 strength 7 attacks rerolling misses, which again is quiet juicy

Or you can just five him a halberd. Strength 6 attacks do the dirty against most things.

True, but the helm of many eyes means he's rerolling to hit, personally I would make him +2 attacks and helm to reroll and give the unit armour piercing banner, then he is taking 3points off of armour, rerolling his hits and S5 should punk most things, especially with 8 attacks on his own! Before you add the juggernaut with 3S6 on the charge!

I love our lords.

The only problem is that the unit can only take a 25 pt magic standard, and Razor is 45 points. Also, I think the Sword of Strife would give him 7 attacks total instead of 8 (unless I'm missing an attack somewhere, which is very likely). Still, 7 attacks, always strike first (with possible reroll to hit if my init. is higher) is pretty nasty.


***Edit*** +1 Attack from Frenzy. Got it.

The option drinking thing happens before combat with a model in base combat. So if you make sure you're next to the enemy character you can poison him then challenge with the unit chp if you want. I love festus he killed a magma dragon a brood horror a kharandis and a dark elf lord on dark Pegasus for me LOL. This was in one game at fantasy doubles.

So I could start with a potion, then the champion could challenge. Dirty dirty dirty. I guess I'll leave the Rage standard on since I can't do the Razor. At least that way the unit won't lose Frenzy. I gave him Helm of Many Eyes, Sword of Strife, and Talisman of Endurance. Still at 1749 points too.

Also, about the Halberds for the units. I know they're supposed to be the end-all weapons for WoC, but are there any alternatives that are just as good or only a little worse? Those bastards are $15.00 for a pack of 10. That's $40.00 bucks to equip both my units. That's kind of pricey.

The skullcrushers can take a magical banner up to 50pts, which included The Razor Standard, I assumed your lord was going to go in that unit? Giving him the 8 attacks (Inc frenzy) at strength 5 AP

I go halberds all the time, our warriors are already anvil enough at toughness 4, 4+ armour, - 1 to hit from nurgle, they don't need shields or additional hand weapons, GW five up there juicy initive 5! Halberds make them wound on 2's and 3's, wouldn't you love to charge into empire knights and watch there save go from 2 to 4 because you can open them on their horses? Halberds are expensive models, you could fill the front rank and the rest as assumed to have it or use bits from knights and skullcrushers

Your lord in juggers will be scary, your warrior block is scary, you are bringing alot of intimidating stuff at such a low points limit
