No matter what the haters say, I approve of many of the points drops for Space Wolves. Not because I'm a huge SW fanboy, which I am, but because we've fallen behind the Army curve, and our units are far too easy to kill.
The purpose of this is to ask why on earth it costs 40 per Thunderwolf cav, which it should because they still die too easy for what they are.... but 50 for a Wolf lord to just take a Thunderwolf Mount.

Because the extra makes up for the fact that its worth a lot more to give an extra wound (and toughness) to a 3W guy

Because he's one of the killiest units in the whole codex. He's also harder to take out now due to the extra wound. If you're running a TWC build, take him. I personally don't because I feel like there are more efficient units for the points. I use a squad of deep striking TDA on a homing beacon for my in your face combat unit.

I used 5 Thunderwolf Cavalry with Storm Shields and Frost swords in my first test match with the new Space Wolf codex, And they just murderd everything, For such a cheep cost (Compared to what they used to cost)

Well, I think the good points comparison for the TWC is the Necron Wraith. They work slightly different ways, but at the be of the day thu are both fast moving, Multi-wound assault units with Rending. Back before this codex, the TWC, especially with storm shields, were priced way out of whack with the Wraiths (who naturally have a 3++). Now they are just about right.
I do think 50 points may be a bit steep for the TW Mount for an IC, but not by a huge amount. Those turn already deadly units into murderous ones. I could see it in the 35 to 40 points range.

In the past codex, you could only have one special melee weapon, so the lection was a thunder hammer, besides that if you choose a power weapon then you lose the rending from the thunderwolve mount, but now there is no restriction, you can have bestial unit with storm shields and wolfclaws, or just a cheap murder anti horde unit with power mauls and pistols.
About the cost on IC, i think is fair the raise in the cost, the wolf lord now gain one wound and rending with a special weapon, like claws or frost blade

Fair enough... I failed to factor the extra wound and now rending...
But I still feel, just like Jefffar said.. maybe 35-40 would be more appropriate, because you could buy an entire TWC model for that.

Again, the added durability to a t4 w3 model, extra s and t, are all easily worth 50 points. Given 35 pt for a jugger doesn't get you the S or the rending, for a start

Agreed, the Wolf Lord gains way more power from the +50pts compared to a vanilla TWC.

why is it the same price to give an Aspiring Champion 2 lightning claws as it is to take a Warp Talon, who has 2 lightning claws and a jump pack?
