So I'm thinking of trying out the tournament scene and iv been going through lists that I would like to use and one is a standard list and ones a farsight bodyguard list, which is my favourite list to play but this is what is in both of them, if there are any comments or criticism or insight I would love to hear them.

HQ

Commander farsight(165)

Farsight bodyguard(601)
-4 suits with 2 plasma rifles and target locks
-3 suits with 2 fusion blasters and target locks
-11 gun drones

Commander(213)
-multi-spectrum sensor suite, command and control node
-drone controller, pure tide engram neurochip
-shield generator, stimulant injector
-vectored retro thrusters
-iridium armour

ELITES

1 crisis suit(42)
-2 burst cannons

1 crisis suits(42)
-2 burst cannons

1 crisis suits(42)
-2 burst cannons

TROOPS

10 kroot(60)

10 kroot(60)

FIREBASE SUPPORT CADRE

3 broadsides(195)
-high yield missile pod, smart missile system

3 broadsides(195)
-high yield missile pod, smart missile system

Riptide xv104(235)
-heavy burst cannon, TL plasma rifle
-velocity tracker, stimulant injector

This one is pretty cut and dry, try to stay alive until farsight until drops

HQ

Commander(205)
-2 fusion blasters
-iridium armour, shield generator, stim injector
-pure tide engram chip, drone controller
-system neroweb jammer

Eathreal(50)

ELITES

3 crisis suits(231)
-2 fusion blasters
-target locks
-5 marker drones

Riptide XV104(235)
-heavy burst cannon, TL fusion blaster
-stimulant injector, velocity tracker

TROOPS

10 firewarriors(205)
-emp grenades
-devilfish
-d pods

10 firewarriors(205)
-emp grenades
-devilfish
-d pods

FAST ATTACK
6 pathfinders(66)

6 pathfinders(66)

2 pirhannas(100)
-fusion blasters

HEAVY SUPPORT

3 broadsides(243)
-Hymp,SMS
-4 missile drones

3 broadsides(243)
-hymp, SMS
-4 missile pods

So this is more of no well rounded list in my opinion and the riptide and two broadsides are going to form the firebase support cadre. Let me know what you think I'm in a cunundrum.

Uh, dude, there are about 600 points of bodyguard missing..? I love the Farsight bomb so I'm eager to know how you've kitted it out!

You were completely right, 601 points to be precise sorry for the screw up

Bodyguard unit looks completely solid, and the joining commander is literally invincible. What I usually do with the bomb is have the buffsuit instead of the buffmander so I get better shooting in somewhere, but what you've got will destroy any enemy armour in the drop, providing they're relatively close together

Will you be deep striking the other individual suits as well?

How will you be using the kroot? It's unusual to see no fire warriors in an army

I'd go with the IA for the riptide, but again that depends on what army you'd be facing. What are you up against with this list?

I tried the bomb yesterday agains an imperial guard list that came third in the GT but, it did well, everything else got dropped but the bomb did a lot of damage, I can't deny that, but it didn't have a lot of maneuverability, or adaptability, it came down destroyed a bunch of units, but for two turns the fire base got focused on, which wiped all but the HBC riptide out. And I take home because he is the most reliable mobile anti flier iv used. I just couldn't kill enough after the drop and everything ended up peeling suits until turn five and it was close but I couldn't get back and get the units that danced around and kept out of farsight range. Highlight of the game for me though farsight peeled of the last wound from a knight in close combat and survived it's explosion

I've notcied "death stars" are becoming less and less efficient. Even the mobile ones when they go up against high mobility or high models + firepower armies. The one squad just can't do enough.

Ya I've noticed that, they get one turn of 100% max and then it feels like your playing catch up! but by god when they get it done they get it done right

On that note, movie marines works well.

CM w/TH/primarchs wrath, shield eternal on bike, +DA interrogator chap on bike /mace of redemption and lions roar w/ about 3-4 normal bikes for "tragic casualties" then calgar, azreal, mephiston, Ezekiel, khan, captain or CM on bike with armor indomitus + teeth of Terra or burning brand. Maybe in a raider makes for good fun.

Once. Its nice how every one can detach and go for different targets. Usually keep them in pairs though.

Did it work well

It did. With several threats around and wound bouncing shenanigans most things got into combat. Just remember to flag out the raider and detach the ICs on bikes. Poor crisis suits couldn't kill enough stuff in two turns.

I would say you should use your farsight list just because you have a lot more anti-tank potential. You should drop the single crisis suits though and get a sky ray or two. And also, where is shadowsun? I think she is mandatory in a Farsight bomb. The crisis commander is unnecessary as well, for less points you can get the same results on one of the bodyguards instead. I don't think two full squads of missile broadsides are really necessary either, what does the firebase actually give you? I think one full squad with missile drones is good enough. Also might consider some pathfinders as well.

FOR THE GREATER F-ING GOOD!

I don't use shadow sun for two reasons biggest, is I don't have the model, second I think it's unfliffy I see the bennifits and I believe one day I will try it, also I do think the three suits is uneccisary, the buffmander however I use to tank wounds, and it has saved the bomb a few times, it does cost a lot however. And the two units of three broadsides are a formation called firebase support cadre, they give the riptides and broadsides rank hunter and preferred enemy space marines, but in return space marines gain hatred agains the formation

I'd say that you could improve the first list by dropping 55 points of other stuff and putting one unit of broadsides from the Firebase support cadre inside a bunker. It makes it much tougher being inside a 55 point av14, 4 hull point shell.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And you can give it Comms relay for another 20 points to reroll your reserves.

Yeah some type of fortification is essential for the FBSC.

I'd drop the bomb idea though. It was a fun list in 6th that did well but without gate it's just not good.

If you're on the West Coast of Canada and make it to the BAO tree of events on the American WC, they allow ICs with infiltrate to grant it to squads. In that very (misguided) interpretation, you make her the Warlord so you infiltrate and get 3D6 jump move. No need to drop at all.

I'd build the FBSC+fortification list and just support it well with OS, markers and Crisis.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

Doesn't a farsight army need one unit of three crisis suits.

It's actually not from the supplement surprisingly, I'm just taking vanilla tu with farsight as the warlord

Would I be able to use this as a bunker? And I still couldn't figure out where bunker rules and points are
