I have started buying terrain from the battlefield in a box company, and so far its been great. But my friend came accross this site belolw
http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=302
Anybody have any experience with these. As far as I can tell it looks pretty modular (I.E floors and roofs can be taken apart) and are prepainted.
Anybody had any experience with these?

4Ground are top notch. My wife bought me several of their 15mm buildings for Flames of War a Christmas or two back.
The buildings go together very nicely and look ace once done since they're already painted. Being wood, they are delicate and have some fine pieces that can easily snap.
Highly recommended.

Ok sounds good.
And they fit with the minis fine? The pictures dont show them fully full with soldiers.
Im pretty convinced to give them a try then.
Any building in particular you thought was awesome from them?

I was just looking at their site, what I could find was a description as to what their levels mean. All of their models have a "We consider this a 4ground level 4" or something to that affect

I have not seen them in person but the pictures I have seen with FoW minis it looks like they built everything with their bases in mind.

Yea looks like it, I just didnt see the floors full, only half full. The guy at the top highly recommends it, so it must work for its purpose I guess.

All of their pictures on the site are done with FOW pieces in the pictures for their 15mm stuff.
For most of their 28mm it looks like Bolt Action stuff.
I just placed an order, couple that with the stuff I'm getting from Tressel and I think i'm going to have a pretty good board

I like the look of the town stuff, can end up with some pretty decent scenery if used right.

4ground do both 15mm and 28mm scale stuff.
I only have their 15mm buildings but they work well for me with FoW. YMMV.

I have some 4ground telegraph poles and they are excellent quality but not sure about the scale ? They are designed for 15mm wargaming but seem huge.
Anyway the problem was easily sorted with a craft knife that made them shorter

How tall are they now you have adjusted them? Was looking at getting some is all, though they probably are in scale as they are big things anyway, guess in 15mm if its anything like the modern standard wooden ones they should range from around 9cm to 18cm which would probably look a bit tall on a wargame table.
More on topic could not recommend 4ground stuff enough especially if like me you are a little lazy are making / painting your own stuff,

Can anyone comment on what the pre-paints for the 15mm terrain? Are they good enough as-is or require some extra work with them?

I wonder if they were longer so, if you wanted, you can drill a hole in a board with a drill-bit and stick them in?

The poles are 9cm tall which is about 3 times the height of a Sherman tank. It looks tall to me but looking out my window at a near by telegraph pole is seems they are higher than I thought
They are also concrete poles and looking on the Google some are even bigger
Staying on subject found this:

Whatever floats your boat
I think I have the small wooden local village poles in mind

Sadly I'm not shocked that there is a club that appreciates telegraph poles. At least it's that and not something more sinister and perverse .... So good on them.
Update to my order status, just got notification of ship status and a tracking number via UPS. So about 6 days from order to shipping.

So, I ordered back on the 29th. They Shipped on the 4th and I received it today, so I would consider that super fast especially coming from across "the pond".
I'll post up pictures in my P&M blog of all the items I got and then I'll post about each of the builds.
So, it's not on their site but it is on their package labels for the levels, so I'll post them here:
Lvl1 - basic & simple
Lvl2 - simple & snap together
Lvl3 - Average difficulty glue is required
Lvl4 - Adult supervision required at times, glue & tweezers required
Lvl5 - Advanced modeller's kits, many modelling tools & glues required

Yeah, I think it was worth selling my Sisters of Battle. Especially as I'm moving away from 40k and towards FoW and possibly Bolt Action in 15mm.

Was just looking dude. Ill keep an eye out for more of your stuff
Im in the same vote as you. But I am limited by the gamers of my area. I can squeeze in a few games of flames of war when I can and soon hopefully bolt action. But its pretty GW orientated. Hence why im having to buy all the terrain to make it more accessible for reluctant players.
Also let me know how 15mm bolt action goes. I have 2 bolt action armies coming, but a friend has some 1/72 scale stuff that may be worth using mine for bolt action too.

Have a few here, slowly building up a small collection at around one or two a month.
Really easy to build (forget the levels stuff, if you can assemble a typical metal/resin model these will be no trouble), just have a range of clothes pegs to hold stuff while the glue dries.
Buildings are not perfect for FoW bases, a typical 'room' will hold a medium base, but it won't hold two and won't let you put the base against a specific wall facing correctly. However the overall size of the buildings feels right so this is not hard to cope with - there is enough space to push the base against whatever side its meant to be facing.
I like them, the fences/walls are a bit light weight, wondering on sticking some felt to the bottom to stop them sliding about but the houses are fine

Well, It's been a bit, but I just finished building everything that I bought. I haven't written anything crazy for a review but here's a link to the gallery where I just finished uploading about 75 pictures from the builds: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-61919-43072_4ground%2015mm%20Terrain.html
I want to say that I love 4ground, there stuff was great. Some stuff was easier to build than others, but I think they're numbering system might have been off for a few. On the whole I think the undamaged buildings should be a 4 based on their description and all ruins should be a 5. THe ruin hamlets were the most difficult build of the whole lot and it was a 5.
If there are any questions or requests of different shots for some of the buildings just ask!

My only beef with 4Ground is the far too obvious tabs that you can see in the roof. The corners are a little bothersome as well. Somehow Crescent Root and their 28mm laser cut buildings have solved this, they appear to look simply stunning.
