Hi all,

I am running an escalation league and this is the store's and my first foray into the world of Warhammer Fantasy. I could not decide between Tomb Kings or Lizardmen so I purchased a bunch of models for each. Now the league starts next week and we are also using the new Rules from End Times: Nagash (new army construction - up to 50% Lords and up to 50% Heroes, The Undead Legion and all the rest).

My problems started when half way through designing each army the army construction changed, up to 50% Lords and up to 50% Heroes, which made me start thinking about different lists. Then The Undead Legion army rules and Nagash were announced and now I'm all confused.

I would really appreciate any help in the way of Army lists, Pros and Cons of each army and tactics etc.

If I don't own something I will purchased what is required.

Please find below the models I do own (new in box):

Tomb Kings

1 Liche Priest
1 Tomb King w/ Great Weapon
1 Tomb King w/ Sword & Shield
1 Necrotect
1 Tomb Heralds Box
40 Skeleton Warriors (Can be assembled as Archers)
16 Skeleton Archers
8 Skeleton Horsemen
6 Skeleton Chariots
20 Tomb Guard
3 Necropolis Knights/Sepulchral Stalkers
1 Screaming Skull Catapult
1 Khemrian Warsphinx / Necrosphinx
1 Casket of Souls

Lizardmen

2 Slann Mage Priest
1 Tetto'Eko
1 Skink Priest
1 Skink Priest w/ Feathered Cloak
1 Lizardmen Army Standard Bearer
36 Skinks
36 Saurus Warriors
10 Temple Guard
16 Sauraus Cavalry on Cold Ones
1 Stegadon
1 Carnosaur/Troglodon
1 Bastiladon
5 or 6 Chameleon Skinks
1 Salamander Pack

The Undead Legion

1 Nagash

Thank you all very much for your time and help in advance,
Justin

If your running tomb kings then the casket is a must have. Also if your not using Khalida don't use archers as a main core unit

Soooo happy to see another Undead Legion player that runs straight TK like me. =P

Well, what points value are you playing to start? Because once you start using Nagash, just bring some core units and the Casket, and summon the rest. What I plan on doing is having Nagash, one other mage for some Nehekharan buffs, use a unit or two of Archers as a bunker for the mage, some chariots, and the casket. Everything else, warriors, Tomb Guard, heck even the characters, you can just summon 36" away wherever you need them later on using Nagash.

As much as I do like Lizardmen too, I'm a dedicated TK player and if you're league is allowing Nagash, why not go with him? =P

I've actually just played a game against lizardmen using the Undead Legion and Nagash. With the Casket of Souls, Nagash and a Hierotitan(which I made from the spare necrosphinxs bits and some clay for robes) even though he was using two slann I was completely owning my magic phase and his.

I'm pretty sure the Heirotitan won't work with Nagash. It specifies friendly "Lighe Priests within 12 inches", Nagash is not a Liche Priest

No it says Nehekharan Undead Wizard. So with the Undead Legion rules that means any Undead Wizard within Twelve inches gets the bonus. Liche Priests, Necromancers, Vampires and Nagash

Yeah I just double checked that, I figured it only did since special characters have "(Special Character; Liche Priest)" next to their unit types. So, I guess that actually doesn't mean anything, AND, Nagash is now even more stupid powerful.

Chariots are the bomb. If you can use Chariots, three of them gives you 3D6 strength 5 impact hits, which is awesome, then you have a load of attacks.

You have to have the extra rank, so he would have to use all of them to get that S5, but yeah, Chariots are noice.

"A rank of skeleton chariots only needs three models to count for rank bonus. In addition , Skeleton Chariots add their rank bonus to the strength of an impact hits they inflict." So if he used six he would gst a rank bonus of +2 which would make the strength of impact hits 6. which is even better.

The first rank of a unit doesn't give a rank bonus. In CC you don't get +1 to combat res for having 3 chariots...
