I'm a bit of a beginner to WHFB.

The last time I played was in 5th, maybe 6th ed and my local gaming community has has a resurrection of WHFB, so I decided to join in and bought the OK book, battalion and a couple of characters. I've used the new percentages in End Times for this list as it makes army building so much easier.

How does this look for a starting point for my army that will eventually go to 2500?

Bruiser: Sword of Battle; Enchanted Shield; Talisman of Protection; brace of Ogre pistols; heavy armour 159
Butcher: Grut's Sickle; Level 2 Wizard 185

8 Ogres: ironfists; Bellower; standard bearer 276
5 Ironguts: Bellower; standard bearer (Standard of Discipline) 250

3 Leadbelchers 129

999 points

Thank you.

No bsb? you should probly drop some items pick up a bsb and 1 or 2 sabers to add to your ranks. Also they good at disrupting shooters.

I need to go to work every day.

Tried really hard to include a BSB and Sabretusk, but just couldn't.

I could drop items, but then I'd lose a fair amount of punch from the Bruiser and buffs from the Butcher.

At 1250 and 1500, most of those elements appear.

Drop the pistols and the Talisman on him, at least. A 6+ Ward isn't doing much for ya', and those two shots aren't helping a whole lot, either.
Drop the Sword of Battle and take the Sword of Striking, or maybe the Gold Sigil sword.

Drop the Ironfists, for now. 8 regular Ogres are still Ogres. Better to get in 2-3 'tusks and a BSB upgrade.
