The big announcement we have been waiting for is up on Battlefront's website. The big surprise is........drum roll please...........an early war sale where you buy two early war items and get one free. A bit of a let down as far as I am concerned. Especially since they can't keep up with their regular demand for items.

BFD on that one for me,I already own all of the HBs for EW and have almost a complete collection of models that i need.
Also if you buy direct you pay for high shipping and full retail.
Now what would be kool is if this went to the retailers. and we could purchase from them.As i prefer to buy from retailers anyways.
my bad, i forgot the buy 2 get one sale. But still they have stock isssues.

Ordering from battlefront is like trying to milk a rock. I've been waiting three weeks on three boxes of Centurions. One box turned up today. :(

I like how Battlefront is willing to give us a few breadcrumbs about their plans in their announcements:
So where too from here? Early War is now done…but is it?
Getting to Barbarossa and the end of our Early-war book plan does not mean that Early-war gaming has to come to an end! Wayne has been working on a few extra digital briefings covering Belgium to Yugoslavia, Mike always has something up his sleeve, Phil keeps talking about Fallschirmjäger and the White Cliffs of Dover, and did someone say Early-war Experimentals? And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about the Hungarians or Romanians either!
With Early War done except for a few digital briefings and maybe Early War Experimentals and Late War nearing the finish line, we should be seeing some updated Mid War books next year and hopefully some additions to AIW and 'Nam.

They did that so you can keep stalking the postman for the other models.

I ordered an AOP from them through my LGS about a year ago, as well as a bunch of other stuff. That other stuff was drip-fed through over the next few months, but my AOP never materialised and I just got bored of waiting, so eventually stopped asking if it had arrived and chalked it up as a few quid lost.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Must... resist.. urge.... to ... buy... armoured.... train.. !!
And those Stugs with the cute little stubby barrels..
At the very least will probably pick up some of the books, which are also reduced in a separate sale. £12 each (and eligible for the 2 for 1 deal) is ridiculous..

Remember back when the release of Burning Empires was explained as "we had too much Mediterranean content for just one hardcover book!"?
BF's use of the word "done" here makes me wonder why they couldn't have produced at least one hard cover book for Barbarossa. In particular, the lack of Italy, Hungary, and Romania in the book that covers the EW Eastern Front has me saying, "Huh?" Yes, they attempt to console us with promises that they will eventually release the relevant lists. But they showed a much greater enthusiasm for armies that had fewer men under arms when they wrote BE.

Aside from the war in China, and of course "Rising Sun", it would probably be best to start the Japanese theaters in Mid-War. Japan attacked the various Western-dominated nations and colonies in what is the very last month of the EW period. So any EW books would cover less than a month's worth of fighting.
Far easier, imo, to just lump them all into Mid-War.

The Japanese didnt change much over the course of the war. Same tanks etc. If anything all their changes where worse! Starvation, rushed training (by the end of the war many soldiers had to train 3 times a day how to shoot themselves with their rifle...) and no military co ordination kinda makes me worry about how my Japanese will fair in the coming books. History wise it only gets worse from here... I suppose midwar may be ok but even then.
