Hi guys, I checked with Yakface and he said it's cool to share this with you.

We've just launched the Wayland Games 2014 Survey, where we'll ask you a couple of questions about yourself, your gaming habits,
what you're looking forward to and basically find out how we can make Wayland Games an even better online store for all your wargaming, board gaming, card gaming, model making and miniature painting needs.
Your time is very much appreciated, so we will be giving out a prize of a £500 store voucher for one lucky winner selected randomly from survey entrants on November 15th 2014.

Best of luck

Filled it out. Ended up writing a small essay in the comments box about how I've not gone through with a couple of orders recently after finding out when trying to apply the code at checkout that one thing I want disqualifies the order from the £40 free shipping deal (previously it was a mat, last time it was paint).

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

The policy is pretty restricting, but I can see why it's there. Royal Mail won't let them ship multiple paints (fethers) so it has to be couriered and large items have to be couriered, or something like that. Royal Mail is cheap enough to have a free shipping option, courier is not. Until you break a much larger value I guess ; p

They were running two coupons last I checked, free shipping or 5% extra off. A decent compromise for if you wanted something that couldn't be part of free shipping. That said I think their prices aren't very competitive lately.

Done. A lot of the questions assume that the reader has purchased from Wayland in the past though (there's no N/A or don't know in the feedback part, for instance).

It was painful to admit to how little of my collection is fully painted (10-20%), and that's after a huge purge of unpainted stuff :(

A critical response is usually very useful as long as it's accurate.

I filled it in, the only problem I ever had with them was the huge length of time I had to wait to receive my stuff.

And do you think putting a comment like that makes you more or less likely to win that £500 prize?

I put 30% of my stuff down as painted, which is wildly optimistic and probably has the decimal place in the wrong spot..

I absolutely agree, my point (which I did explain better in the form) is that the £40 spend is pushed hard these days, so there's an assumption that it will happen. Then, when it doesn't, I end up closing the browser rather than placing the order (It was also just 1 pot of wash added to a largish Infinity order, not multiple paints).

It's more of a perception/disappointment thing than 'I demand free shipping for all items regardless of weight' .

Fair play to them for having quite an open survey, especially given they're not always the most popular company. I've been using them on and off since they started and, occasional shipping delays aside, they've been pretty reliable, so glad to give them the feedback.

Plus, you know, potential boot full of guilt free minis!

Genuinely, feedback that says "Don't change anything, everything is perfect" does not help us change and improve. Obviously there are suggestions that are unique perspectives of special individuals (not enough Unicorns in the logo), we might share some of them in the infographic we circulate in November .. But in most comments there is at the very least a grain of truth that we can use to drive change.

We will take the survey results distil them and create a set of objectives that will be slotted into the strategy of the business for the next few years, just like we did following the last major survey we did. We might also contact some survey submitters for further clarification of their thoughts.

Truth to be told, I was feeling much the same.

But then again, if I get lucky I'll gladly spend those money at their store...

Dear Wayland Games -

if you are reading this, if f2k wins please give me the monies to spend instead as I regularly purchase things from your store and will continue to be a customer

Kind regards,

Pacific

Sure thing...

If Pacific wins then, I can have his price. That's only fair, right?

To be honest though, my feedback wasn't that bad. Main point of contention (as have been debated many times on this board) is the delivery issues - especially listing products as available when they're actually on back order. But let's not beat that dead horse here - I do believe that we have another thread for that.
