Looking to tweak my Imperial Guard army with the inclusion of a tank commander for some extra anti-tank. I was debating going with Pask but with 2 long range support units behind my defence line in the form of Ratlings and 3 Rapier Laser Batteries, both with a poor Leadership of 7 the tank commander seems a better choice due to his D3 roll on the warlord traits with a re-roll there's a good chance I can gain the trait to prevent those units from needing to take a Leadership test at 25% casualties.
Even if I fail there's hardly a bad result for me as I'll gain preferred enemy on the unit as if I had taken Pask or I'll have an outflanking Veteran Squad or Plasma Sentinels.
HQ
320 – Tank Commander: 2 Vanquishers with Lascannons
50 – Primaris Psyker
ELITES
90 – 9 Ratlings
TROOPS
155 – Veteran Squad: 3 Grenade Launchers, Autocannon. Mounted in Chimera with Heavy Bolter, Heavy Stubber and Multi-laser.
155 – Veteran Squad: 3 Grenade Launchers, Autocannon. Mounted in Chimera with Heavy Bolter, Heavy Stubber and Multi-laser.
86 – Veteran Squad: Sgt with Boltgun, 3 Grenade Launchers, Autocannon.
FAST ATTACK
155 – Vulture Gunship: Heavy Bolter and Twin Punisher Cannons
100 – 2 Armoured Sentinels: Plasma Cannons
HEAVY SUPPORT
185 – Leman Russ Exterminator: Heavy Bolter and Plasma Cannon sponsons
65 - Wyvern
138 – 3 Fulled Manned Rapier Laser Batteries
FORTIFICATIONS
100 – Defence Line: Quad Gun
Total: 1599
I think the list has a perfect balance of weaponry with anti-tank and anti-infantry both heavy and light in equal measure.
Let me know what you think?

I like it, I like it a lot. Maybe the Exterminator could have Heavy Bolter Sponsons instead, considering you have plenty of Plasma Cannons, but other than that, this just seems like a great list.

Really nice list, but I think that Vanquishers are a waste, since you only get one shot and your opponent will most likely have a cover save. I'd say switch the Vanquishers with Punishers and add Pask in the command one. He has rending, so even a Land Raider can be glanced to death. Also, you should take Multi-Melta sponsons on all the Russes, they are just too good to pass.
Also it is worth splitting the Sents into two 1-man units, just to give your opponent more targets.
If you aim to expand your army to more points, you should definitely consider taking a Conscript blob with a priest to keep them fearless. They are bubble-wrap fodder and they have a huge footprint to cover objectives and tying thing up in CC.

Well first off they are excellent Anti-tank and aside from my Rapier Laser Batteries I need something that can easily deal with Land Raiders and other heavily armored vehicles, in order to damage a Land Raider you need to roll a 6 for penetration and then a 5 or 6 on the additional D3, I'll have better chances destroying it with a Vanquisher even with a cover save
With Prescience being cast on them they're likely to hit their target. As I mentioned in the first post the main reason I don't take Pask is because the high chance of getting the warlord trait that prevents my Rapiers and Ratlings from running off after 25% casualties is very valuable to keeping those units on the board and doing damage, especially since only 3 ratlings or 2 of the gun crew need to die before a test is required.

I like it too. I really like the veterans in chimeras. Great fire base there. Love the rapiers, tank commander setup, and vulture. All exact same loadouts as I have used in a list before. Seriously nice list. I would legit take that to a tourney. Good to see someone using unique yet functional units. Not just power blob spam with vendetta support.
Suggestions for higher points, I would add a regular command squad, and swap out the wyvern for a unit of thudd guns. Similar to a wyvern, but you can pack up to 4 in a single heavy slot AND issue orders to them Things like split fire, monster/tank hunter, ignores cover, etc... alternatively you could add a heavy artillery battery of earthshakers, and apply the same orders from above. You could also add a Hereticus Inq with psyocculum. Add to a unit and target psykers. Add to the Earthshaker battery I suggested, and then order it to split fire, and pound 3 separate psyker units/vehicles... just some suggestions. Overall though I like it.

Actually I was thinking Command Squad with 3 squads of Cyclops demolition vehicles. Not for any real competitive play, just thought it be fun to have 9 individual T6 W2 4+ demolition charges roaming about. It's what the Gretchin Guard would want (see link in signature)

I like it too. My only question would be: Do you think the Vulture and the Quad-gun are enough anti-air? The Punisher is only S4, right?
I'm also interested in how you'd compensate if you were in a no- FW meta, say a tournament or something? So, you'd lose the Rapiers and the Vulture.

I think the Punisher is S5. And most places are FW friendly now. And if they aren't, they probably should be, as it's not a very big deal anymore.

Easy, replace them with a Vendetta for anti-tank and a Hellhound for anti-infantry.

ZOG IT, MISCALCULATION!!!
Someone just pointed out that "no leman russ is that cheap" and he right's the Command tanks are 320pts not 220! So now I've got 100pts to ditch!
The Armoured Sentinels seem the best choice but I feel I'll have need of those AP2 weapons so the alternative option is 3rd Veteran Squad, plus both stubbers off the chimeras and a grenade launcher from 1 of the other squads.
What do you think?
