im in a journeyman, we have to keep the battle box for the entire thing except the last week, we can swap casters for the last 3 weeks. We do not have to keep what we add from week to week.

I have the deneghra battle box, I have a warwitch siren, full unit of bane thralls with UA and tartarsauce for models to fill in to 25 points.

Im looking for game strategies, ways to win, movement formations etc. What am I supposed to do with this force?

I had a super close game against a friend who is very good at the game, it was my first game but he wasnt holding back. He did give me a couple hints, but overall I did really good and just about beat him, 2 inches of mis positioning on my caster cost me the game just before my untouched slayer went in for a hug on his caster.

Anyway, im just looking to get beter and actually understand how to run this type of list.

Welcome to the side of the true dragon...

Cryx are one of the most flexible armies, but also one the most expensive. Almost every unit is a strong and viable asset to our list building with only some units being favored by certain casters.

Casters: If you're new Denegrah1 (pDenny), Skarre1 (pSkarre) and Lich Lord Aspyxious (pGaspy) are you bread and butter guys determining on where you want to go.

The first, pDenny, is probably the most powerful battle box caster. Her spell line up means that pretty much any unit can become a powerhouse dude to crippling grasp or parasite. Add on her feat and she's not only buffing your entire army for a turn, but ruining your opponents turn! She's stealth, so outside of a few units (or all of Legion!), she's safe getting into the fray. Leverage her super fast arc nodes to setup caster kills or apply pressure from multiple fronts. Your slayer is a "clean up" piece, not a front line battle engine. Cryx jacks all have glass jaws to match their glass cannon archetype, so be mindful when you send them in. The Slayer in the battle box should either be used as a counter punch or a bait unit.

Banes + UA + Tartarsauce is a great start. That's a heavy lifting unit, for certain. The Warwitch Siren is good for harassing and power boosting your "out of control area" arc nodes to zip around.

Other tool kit units and recommended buys:
Bane Knights: Thralls bigger brothers. A must have tool that even I'm lacking.
Blood Witches + Hag: You buy it for the hag, but get some descent anti-infantry to go along with her
Blood Raiders + UA + Captain: The board controlling speed-bump/lock down unit for Cryx. SUPER DUPER Fast. Both Witches and Raiders are a must with Skarre, IMO
Pistol Wraiths: Who needs to kill their big heavies when you can just make them slump around the battlefield? Deathchill is amazing. Run them for rear arc activation for even more fun.
Nightmare: Synergies with pDenny and eDenny for a stealth, heavy hitter with neat tricks.
Deathjack: Good friends with pGaspy and eGaspy, but anyone can run him well since he's so efficient.
The Withershadow Combine: The Cryx Toolbox unit. Learn to leverage their buffs to both the caster and units, but don't be afraid to get them dirty with Dark Industries. If you use them a lot in a jack heavy meta, consider purchasing a Harrower/Leviathan kit or a Seether to pop out for free! I've been playing Cryx for only a short time, but have already gotten 4 free Seethers, much to my opponents dismay!
Skarlock Thrall: Great for aiding casters who need all the Focus (pDenny, eDenny, eGaspy)
Bile Thralls: Bombs AWAY! Good friends to all, but eGaspy loves them with Excarnate!

Unless you love Jacks and gotta have them, usually you don't need them outside of Arc Nodes and maybe a heavy hitter (Nightmare, Deathjack). Cryx love dude spam. If you want that to the maximum, you can get Lich Lord Terminus + Banes + Banes + Mechanithralls + Necrosurgeons... There are a lot of options still to go.

Here are my lists for example:

Spoiler:
pDenny
-Deathripper
-Defiler
-Nightmare
BLT (Tartarus)
Pistol Wraith
Pistol Wraith
Warwitch Siren
Bane Thralls + UA
Bane Thralls
Withershadow Combine

Spoiler:
eGaspy
-Skarlock Thrall
-Nightwretch
-Helldiver
BLT
Saxon Orrik (Gives Pathfinder)
Gorman di Wulfe (support piece)
Bile Thralls
Bane Thralls + UA
Bane Knights
Withershadow Combine
Bloodwitches + Hag

I still have to buy chunks of eGaspy's list as I kinda bought stuff willy nilly. If I was running them together at a tournament, I'd keep the Combine with pDenny and put in Durragh + Machine Wraith with eGaspy.

It is really hard to go wrong with Cryx. You do need to figure out your playstyle with them and I do not recommend getting Cephylx or lots of generic heavy jacks as they are not a strength of the faction. Anything with Bane, Satyxis, and Mechanothrall in the unit type is a solid pick.

As to your request for strategy, that is hard to say. Each game is a different situation and you really just need to play to iron out the wrinkles in your game plan. Basically, keep Denny safe, remember your debuffs, and watch your control area. Don't rush the Slayer up into the middle of things as he'll just get wrecked. keep him behind the wall of Banes and on feat turn send him in to open a path or for the kill (remember your power attacks like trample).

How to play the Cryx battlebox.

In an ideal world you hit the caster with crippling grasp or another debuf then use your feat on them. By this time they will be easy to hit and their armor will be pretty pitiful. then just pile on every attack you can.

But Denny is very versatile. However, she does like to keep her focus. After the first turn you should probably only dole out 1 or 2 focus to her jacks a turn. Basically if you need them to run or charge.

Her knockdown spell (Scourge) can become auto hit if used properly. Once a model is knocked down all melee attacks auto hit. To do this place an arcnode about 3-4 inches from the caster. Now cast Scourge. don't worry about hitting directly because even if you scatter it will still touch the model you targeted knocking them down. Once the model is knocked down go to town with autohitting melee attacks from other models.

Another common attack is venom. Run an arcnode within 8" and just venom the target repeatedly. If used in conjunction with the feat and debuffs this can kill even a caster pretty fast.

Keep Denny back. Like way back. You have 3 arcnodes so don't be afraid to lose one if you can land a key spell or debuff. If someone runs to engage you use parry to walk away. Watch out for AOEs and other ranged attacks that ignore stealth. Stealth is powerful, but will not protect you all the time.

Speaking of debuffs, crippling grasp on a melee jack or unit will often take it out of the game. The jack can no longer run, charge and is at -2 speed. which means even the fastest jack is only moving 4" a turn. Parasite is great on high arm targets.

Now I don't want to neglect ghostwalk. The ability to ignore freestrikes and terrain is powerful. Use this ability to get a charge off on their caster when they think they are unchargable. Or use it on a bonejack to get into places to use the arcnode to terrible effect. When possible pick up a skarlock thrall so that he can cast this spell. It is awesome and the skarlock lets you do fun activation tricks.

Influence is pretty much the one bad spell she has. Not necessarily bad, but you won't use it a lot. Her other 5 are simply awesome.

Lastly, the jacks. The slayer looks like your heavy hitter. And it kind of is, but is also easily killed. Her bonejacks don't appear to have an awesome attack at first, but add in her debuffs and they are dangerous. The deathripper with sustained attack can do a lot of damage. Between debuffs and boosting to hit you can often land the first attack and then buy more autohitting attacks.

Anyways, I hope this helps give you some ideas. Denny is very powerful, but learning to keep her alive and when to use each ability is key.

Thanks for all the info guys, i have read it all bu dont have the time to respond to it all right this moment.

That will all help me out for sure, what im also looking to find are ways for assassinations, combo's, what works well to win. tips/tricks/strategies etc

Like I was thinking, but i have no idea if its strong enough, if I can catch the caster within range of my defiler with all my crippling + her feat(?) if that would be enough to kill with a venom, or maybe its not and id need a pistol wraith? Im still super new so im just trying to find a good way to win while using this battle box.

Maybe. It depends on the caster. Squishy ones will go down. Tough ones may survive.

But that is one of her common assassination runs.
