Thought I would drop this here; it certainly looks interesting. And the painted minis are spectacularly well done. I like how the book seems to focus on art theory too (for those of us without an art background at all). I have some painting DVDs and I really didn't find them to be super helpful, as it takes too long when you want to reference something, and it can be very hard to see what they're doing. I like the idea of a well done book, I'll be watching this one closely.

Some things:
  • Scroll down past the French to find the English.

  • Shipping is included in the price of the pledge (posted in the latest update)

  • The stretch goal mini's artwork is revealed at around the 4 minute mark in the video.

  • The campaign is flexible funding - but is already FUNDED so no worries there.

  • The book will be available in English

  • The first two stretch goals have been met, so the book is 16 pages longer than originally planned

  • The next stretch goal adds a free mini to the applicable pledge levels (and has been met)

  • No word if they'll add more goals beyond that - but still 3 weeks to go on the campaign itself

  • UPDATE 10/29/14 - Greens of both minis are available in the gallery. Both additional stretch goals have been met - your book now comes with stickers and a bookmark.

Thanks for that, I will definitely be watching with great interest. I do enjoy their models, and always looking for painting info.

That said, I don't love IndieGoGo, as I have had issues with collecting rewards from the projects there. And this one is "flexible funding," which means they will get the money no matter what.

Looks like is has a solid chance at funding, and an additional mini as a stretch sounds good too.

I may well plumb for this one. I got the Massive Voodoo book the other year and it was well worth the money (and the wait).

This looks to be similar so I may well back it, but I'll probably steer clear of the special edition figure as it is not really to my taste.

Up to over 80% funded now - with a good 39 days left to go. I'm pretty sure it will fund np.

There are some stretch goals to add extra pages to the book, and add a second, free mini to certain pledge goals - but the creators seem to be taking a hands-off approach, which always hurts things.

I did message them today to see if we'll see either sculpt before the end of the campaign, as I think that could influence a lot of potential backers.

Remember Mr Figone JBT is still off cycling around India

    https://www.facebook.com/Jeremie.Bonamant.Teboul.et.Figone?fref=ts

so communications between him and who ever is running the Indiegogo for him may well be sporadic

Shame this is on Indiegogo. It would Be far more successful on KS.

Hmm - that seems like a poor time to go on a trip.

Tis true. But it's now 99% funded - and with 37 days left, it seems pretty likely that even with a few new funders a day it will clear the pretty modest stretch goals.

Looks like a very solid project. They seem to know what they are doing, having a translator, printer all ready and of course an incredible painter. 35 euros for the book with shipping included is also a pretty good price, seems to be about the same as most of the other books out there. May just back this one!

Book is funded! So, its a lock and should be set for production and delivery. No more worries about Flexible Funding."

Stretch goals are a ways off. That 20,000 pounds for a free mini seems really far off, though there are still 30+ days.

Good bit of info on the campaign: the shipping charges are already added to the prices of the pledges. So, no insane out-of-country shipping and VAT to worry about.

Also interesting to note that there were two personal training sessions, and both have been purchased. Five days of one-on-one training does seem like a nice perk.

Seems a lot of people were worried about the flex funding - as today, after having funded, was probably the busiest day for new backers since the first.

Small update - the first stretch goal has been unlocked!

8 extra pages have been added to the book.

The next stretch goal (adding a further 8 pages) is only 2,250 Euros away. Then just a scant 5k more for the free mini.

Another update - another stretch goal met. The book is now a nice 16 pages fatter than it would have been several thousand Euro ago.

It's also only a few thousand Euro from the free mini being added to applicable pledge levels (which I think, are just the ones that include the first mini).

No, the free stretch goal mini is for everyone who buys at least the book (perk 2).

Bump - one week to go on this. They've announced a 25000 Euro goal of uhm, some free stickers.

Yeah - not quite my thing either. But the goal is already almost met. So hopefully they can squeeze something a little better in there in the last week.

More importantly, the gallery has been updated with pics of the free stretch goal mini everyone will be getting. She's quite fetching. If you're big on naked ladies, wrapped in snakes, and with bat-wings on their head and snakes for hair. You know you are - you kinky bastards.

    That bit's okay.

The rest, snakes and whatnot, I'm a bit unsure of...

You should probably spoiler that - just to be on the safe side. And thanks! The gallery pics won't link right, and I've been too lazy to save them and reupload them to dakka
