Hive Tyrants and Malanthrope on the board turn 1 for either 2+ Jink or 2+ in ruin.

Turn 2, on average 3 Mawlocs arrive in the backfield along with rippers to claim objectives.

Turn 3 burrow and 2 appear

Turn 4 3reappear and 2 burrow

Turn 5 2 reappear and 3 remaining on board.

I understand this'll be dependant on reserve roles and casualties taken but played right, this could be really effective! especially with Maelstrom/ last minute objective grabs.

It does have potential in maelstrom missions. I could see dropping the Mal and a ripper for a venom and a lictor. The Venom will give the same cover turn one while the lictor will give you an accurate targeting system for critical deepstrikes.

It sounds sexy and fun, but your malanthrope doesnt do much for anyone past turn 1. This list against a foot slogged army? Great. Against something like Serpent spam? Useless.

Trade the malanthrope and electro grubs on one flyrant to get a bastion with comms relay. Then you can control your reserves, and the flyrants are still protected because two can hide behind it and the 3rd can probably find a parking spot behind some LoS blocking terrain.

I'd go for the malan because they are durable and can sit back in a ruin and hopefully on an objective and hold it securely -as well as covering the hive tyrants turn 1. Venoms tend to die first turn with me, I don't know if it's just my bad luck but T4 with a 5+ armour save really blows when you're being hit with ignores cover sterngaurd!

Plus, on the off chance a malan kills something that proffered enemy bubble is awesome.

I do like the sound of a lictor but I'd rather go for death leaper for the snap shot only rule .... Even if he is 130 pts!
