So I've decided to run a small, friendly FOW tourney for Adepticon 2015 in the style of 40K Combat Patrol. That means I need more terrain....and quick!
Let's start with a WIP post on the 15mm Lumber Camp terrain set. From the left, it's a small bunkhouse, the mill, and a maintenance shed. Not pictured (because they were half finished at the time) are the log and lumber pile linear obstacles. All that's left is a quick ink weathering of the exterior wood surfaces, some spot painting (mostly the tin roofs and bases), and flocking.

Each table will be a different region in the EW period. I hope to have Egypt/Libya border, Cyrenaica, Greece, Crete, France, the Low Countries, Poland, Norway, the Baltic States, Russia - Karelia, Russia - Pripyet, Russia - Sevastapol, & Manchuria.

I took a little break from making terrain to finish up some minis. I'd always wanted to add some assault guns to the Soviet Tankovy Battalion I finished a couple years ago but have been unwilling to spend the cash to buy them. Recently, I came across a good deal and bought them....then promptly realized I had lost the paint color chart I used for the prior minis! Instead I decided to try my luck at whitewash winter camo for the first time.

The lumber camp is finally complete and I'm pretty pleased with the results considering the amount of time it took. The entire complex, if not spread out, occupies around 2 sq. ft. - somewhere between a 1/4" and 1/3" of a table space. Considering it really only needs some roads and large tracts of woods, the size is "just right" for FOW. This lumber camp will be used to represent the Karelia Region of Finland/Russia in the FOW: Recon In Force tournament for Adepticon 2015.

Yugoslavian House Conversion. So I'm sure the first question is "why Yugoslavia?"....and the simple answer is because it was an easy conversion. Crescent Root's (now out of production) resin buildings were the first 15mm buildings I had purchased years ago and, while they're nice, straight out of the box they're rather odd-looking - as if they don't really fit any particular nation or architectural style.

Just looked through this thread from start to finish - it all looks amazing. I think you should also post some of this stuff in the Historical section as well. You'll get a lot more views (it's all too easy to become lost amongst the space marines in this part of the forum!)

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Vineyards make excellent, useful terrain features in all kinds of different games. They limit maneuverability, provide concealment for infantry, and nicely fill table space. I'll show you how to build realistic vineyards that are easy to assemble.

While I don't really need more North African style buildings, I just can't seem to stop building them. I found a few old offcuts of cork flooring tile and decided to try my hand at building some cork terrain. The basis of these buildings are Matakishi's amazing cork buildings, specifically his Afghan Buildings.

I have a love-hate relationship with the Battlefront Plowed Fields - I love how awesome they are and they're useful in many more games outside of Flames of War, but I hate the cost. $20-something should get you more than two small rectangular fields. So I decided to try making my own and the results are awesome.
