In a crazy arcanepunk universe dominated by an old and traditionalist orc empire.
Fake gods income from a space travel quite a few centuries created a world machine and portal to prevent a new extinction ... and tried to limit the evolution of some races.
But time is stronger than gods and some of the ignored race now use technologies to fight!
Pyromancers and Hight priest, wargolems and rifles...
Wich power gonna be stronger?
With the Fury power, some great warriors can sometime use high level "shonen like" fighting style.

In the coming brand new Fury, there gonna be many awesome new rules:
You can play in wolrd machine maps, with a new "opponent"... a countdown make the terrain on the brink of destruction... earthquake, outbursts, poisonned gas... you should think about it in your strategy!
A campagn mode and a Solo mode are coming too!
The mechanics gonna be more intuitive...

I will be honest, I laughed when I saw your comment because, mostly, I reacted the same way few years ago when Whispe started to present his game on the other side of the Atlantic (and sometimes I still wonder )

At that time I couldn't see all the references the universe had or was referring to.

Few years later I had an "epiphany" when I saw the quality of the minis Forge-Studio (at that time Whispe Edition) was offering and I started to read the few bitz of background we had on the official forum.

The universe is crazy, certainly so, but it is also one of the most baroque, exuberant, original, fun and alive available on the market (since the publication of the Witch Fire trilogy imo).

Personally I relate a lot to the references cited by the author of the game (the Monty Python and Terry Gilliam, Guillermo del Toro, the Discworld, Neil Gaiman and some obscure RPG and French comics). So maybe I'm not really objective but when I look at the Kickstarters around I mainly see 2 categories: the one surfing on the nostalgia and the retro-gaming mood-of-the-day and, on the other side, some antepenultimate revamp of the classic Fantasy settings installed by our elders some 30 years ago now .
Nothing really to be excited about and certainly few things really original.
Fury Outburst, imo, is more original than 99% of the tabletop game I see appearing on KS everyday.
As for the coherence of the universe, I would be happy to discuss it and present here some of my understanding but I guess, at the end, it's all about your personal taste and expectations

Hu, You made a little mistake... not Dark Elves: Savage BDSM cannibal psycho Elves..
And not Gangster Dwarves: Gispy dwarves ^^

Despite the apparence, the universe have his logic, Orcs sense of honour don't allow them to fall into the easyness of technology, and Esialdesian live with gods and angels on their side... using sometimes forbidden necrotech...

The World is in an ArcanePunk (antic) universe, most of the technology is "magic" (excepting gobs thats live in a temporal rift...


The technotaboo is the fact of gods that fear the evolution of different races since they "decline" (they still powerfull ancient space travellers but not enought to be fearless )

And as I still saying, "holy s***! there is gatlings and copters in WfB"! So Sov' gobs shouldn't be weird

This universe definitely have its logic.

All these races leave in a world on the verge of collapse: the giant clockwork supporting their universe is badly damaged and only maintained painfully by, of course, ingenious dwarf.

Elves went mad after some struggle in their royal lineage and now they are more or less organized as crazy ant-like colonies, drinking blood and eating human flesh

The "Egyptian" Esialdesian are human living at the feet of decadent gods served by giant angels (look at the 7 000 euros stretchgoal ).

The gods them-self are, if I understand well, some kind of advanced anthropomorphic aliens who came first through and with a giant... prison vessel.
Of course things went south and some of the prisoners went out and are now screwing the world even more.

As a say before, the adjectiveis, I believed : baroque .

This is just a part of the story-line that was reveal last year by the creator . I guess the full chronology will be eventually published and then translated in English but if you want to get some description about the different faction now, you can ask me. I will try to follow this thread all along the 45 days of the KS.

Little news to report to you that we have added some additional add-ons:

- Card starter packs (choice of faction during the pledge manager)

- Card packs combining the Humans or Orcs extensions (to be specified during the pledge manager)

- An exclusive KS mercenary miniature unlocked from 55 supports.

Best choice, best faction, ever (here are mine)

Something that we must explain about this KS, because, to be honest, it is not very clear.

This is not a one-shot KS aiming for a massive amount of cash and basta!. It may seems a paradox (I mean "why KS in that case"?) but the team behind the game (I get it from discussion we have on french forum) want to take the time to "install" the game on a long term basis. They are not really expecting the nowadays traditional "buzz" around game on Kickstarter.

Of course they need our money (and this is the reason behind the KS I believe ) but what they are really aiming at it is to build a community around the game and the universe.

I am afraid that at the moment - compare to the "Roll-Royce" of the KS around - this KS have very little to seduce backers from the other side of the channel or the Atlantic (outside of the minis). The first Indiegogo was to install the game in the french community: it was a bet from the creator alone and he fulfill it at a point that, many where regretting not stepping in for the Indy and had to wait a year for the KS.
This KS will be mainly for translating the rules and the cards and creating a "core" for the English-based community.

So if you look at it from the other side, I would said that this KS have much more to offer that the other around: at this point of the development, if you step in, you have a huge chance of really being a part of the development. And there is very little risk: the game is secure (we, on the french side, order and receive order from the game on a regular basis), the community is small but very active and the team in charge full of idea.

To make it short: from what I understand, this is a game aiming at a somehow sustainable development inside a niche-market.
I believe sometimes it is not bad to go small steps after small steps...

I painted a RSSG Goblin starter, and I really enjoyed painting it. The Goblin have really expressive faces, the models have an old-school like feel, but the details are nice.
I had a great time painting them. And what's coming next ? A War-hamster ? Man, I need it !
