Later this year i am going to compete in my first 2000 point tournament. For this i'm going to build a 2000 point army of the Adeptus Mechanicus using codex;tau and Codex;necrons for the force. The army list is currently being re-written and modified continuously until i'm satisfied.

Currently however i know will need several models regardless, such as two riptides, a commander and at least 3 battlesuit models. For this I turn to Forgeworld Horus Heresy line.

As you can see i've got a fair amount of work left to do even before i add the weapons. However so far it's certainly promising.

Tau and necrons use advanced fire power and are less reliant on tanks. Tau (since i've dropped crons) closely mirror the mechanicus profiles from horus heresy.

My XV105 with heavy-burst cannon (or at least a heavy cannon) and my bare-bones conversion for the new flying riptide model. I'm hoping to refine and finish the conversion before new year with some breaks for painting more conventional models.



Fire-warrior count as. love these guys.... so buying an army next year.

Finally a family photo, though i've no where near finished anything in this army yet.

You're really building up quite an army... very nice! I've been talking to my brother for a long time about doing almost the exact same thing (counts-as Tau, modeled as Mechanicus) to ally with his Space Marines - will be sure to share this with him. Definitely looking forward to more paint!

Well what can I say, those look incredible, even the poor poor carnifex . In fact, I think I'm just gonna forward this thread to someone who asked me if I could find some examples of well painted realistically colored red armors - I mean, with some rust and evidence of being deployed to rough environments. Fantastic work.

Remember that mechanicus army i finished? well.... I never actually got around to the photo. Bar one model it's time for that to happen, so here's my finished army. I'm now ready for the new releases and set to expand my empire of the machine spirit.

I cant imagine why you've had so few responses to the blog skrall. You've got some truly terrific stuff on display. Count me subbed.

AdMech is the only new army that's tempted me in a very long time in 40k. We'll have to see how the figures and codex sort out before I make a move. But I'm very hopeful.

I really great looking army! Hopefully we'll get to see you paint up some of the new 40k models too

I think it's because i'm one of those people who doesn't need much encouragement to paint my stuff. I've never been one to have a 'popular' WIP which is a shame i suppose but it won't stop me lol. Thank you for the kind words!

As for 40k mec, they look like the ultimate in battlebrothers. I can forsee the future; adamantium lance, inquisitor with servo skulls, adeptus mechanicus allies for that rad butthurt. It's my plan at the very least.

Really your stuff looks amazing and weathering is fantastic, that is one part of painting and modeling I never managed to replicate in a way I would want to.
So do you plan to add something from this upcoming release? I must admit I am not to thrilled about looks (dont get me wrong models are fantastic especially new walker but they just dont fit in "my" vision of techno cult)

The Adeptus Mechanicus are back!

After a short break following my previous army i now have an expansion planned. Yesterday morning this arrrived;



Shortly after which this was the scene on my desk;



I don't much like the vanguards heads, so i'm switching them out for the range heads, but i they are very defiantly staying as rad-weapon vanguard. I love the design of these and can't wait for spider tank.
