So I want to dip my toes into WHFB after playing a bit of WH40k, and I’d decide that I’ll take the new Undead Legion for a spin.
My plan is to first by the VC Battalion and turn it into the above list.
I’ll admit it is a bit top heavy (I was debating for some time whether or not to have the necromancer ride the corpse cart) but I need a powerful necromancer as the engine to my war machine.
My primary tactic is to have a 10*2 wall of ghouls and a corpse cart to form the tip of the spear. A well placed Vanhel's Dance Macabre and Invocation of Nehek can turn my ghouls into a maximum of 40 poisoned, always striking first, rerolling to hit attacks. Granted in most cases I’m never going to have to use all 40 attacks, and I can always switch to a 5*4 bus at the last minute on deployment.
Behind my wall will be my necromancer supporting a unit of skeleton warriors. While the Ghouls tie up the front lines, I’ll use Master of the Undead to slowly build up my skeletons into a decent sized army to blindside whatever’s left of my opponent when they finally thin through my ghouls.
Any advice helps.
