I wanted to make a list out of the battalion box and a few extra purchases. I also have a Tomb King on hand I could throw in, and of course the Skeletons and Horsemen can be armed differently. I'd prefer to keep the price around $200 dollars
Lord:210 points
Liche High Priest, Level 4 wizard, 210 points (Hirophant)

Core: 577 total

20 Skeleton Warriors, light armour. 100 points.
20 skeleton Archers, light armour. 140 points.
8 Horse Archers, Full command. 142
3 Skeleton Chariots, Full command. 195 points

Special: 85 points
Tomb Scorpion: 85 points

Rare: 90 points
Screaming Skull Catapult 90 points

I think you'd be better off dropping the horse archers and tomb scorpion and grabbing a Tomb Prince with the armor of destiny (5+/4++)and a great weapon. Have him join the Warriors to give them WS5. Makes it a much tougher unit to crack. With the extra points I'd grab the talisman of preservation for your Liche priest. Your hierophant NEEDS a ward save. Then I would add the earthing rod to your hierophant too, getting him that miscast re-roll.

Everything else looks solid!

I'm inclined to keep the Horsemen, mostly due to them coming in the Battalion, but I can defiantly drop the command on them (And maybe lower the size of the squad) and the Tomb Scorpion. That'd give me 115 points, which while not enough for a prince could get me the Amulet of Protection as well as the Cloak of Dunes, leaving 50 points. Would it be worth it to throw the Seed of Rebirth (6+ Regen) or one of the obsidian items (Magic Resistance 1/2/3) on the Hiro?

If you're going to keep the horsemen, leave the musician in the group.

I would say stick with the talisman of preservation for the better ward save. The cloak is fun for secondary casters, but you're hierophant needs the most protection you can give him, which is the 4++ inside a big block of archers with a unit of warriors between them and the enemy, then add whatever other items you feel like giving him, which is more of a personal play style thing. Also keep in mind that the lore of Nehekhara is more 'buffy' in nature, so you don't need to necessarily have a mobile platform to cast it with at these points levels.

Sorry, made a minor mistake. Meant to say Talisman of Preservation, not Protection. I always seem to confuse the two. And, now that I think about it, the cape is probably only going to get my Liche killed. Which gives me 60 points to drop on what ever magical items I can cram onto a Liche Priest (Probably a dispel scroll and an Earthing Rod)

I've got about $60, so what would you say would be a good next purchase to add to the list?

I'd say either a casket, Necropolis knights or save a bit more and get a 20 man block of tombguard. The Necropolis knights are fun because our archers can shoot through them without penalty and they provide a 3+ armor save screen.

After that maybe look into a warsphinx or some tomb guard. Keep in mind though the Sphinxs only like being supported by other constructs.

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

Sorry if this constitutes necrobumping (Its only been 9 days, so I dont suspect it does), but what constructs would do well supporting the Sphinx? Ushitabi do poorly I hear, so probably not them right? And obviously with constructs I'd want a Necrotect.
One more thing, as Stalkers worth it? Maybe not as a replacement for the Necropolis knights, but later down the line?
